This place has good flavor, and I love that the food is cooked right there in front of you, open kitchen style. Prices are reasonable. My only complaint is that the chicken seems to be lower quality and has a lot of fat. I would recommend getting a higher grade chicken. I get that it might decrease the profits but in the long run you will get more business and make more money.

Rice is ok. The customer service is good. Food is blah. Chicken is ok but the sauce is really sweet, too sweet for my liking. Not the worst place however its not on my places to eat.

I miss The Chicken Bar — so much!!! The food here is mediocre at best. The gal at the front counter is super sweet and nice, but the two dudes doing the cooking are complete A-holes and that is being nice. There are definitely better Teriyaki places around and you can actually get a hello and thank you rather than a grunt.

4 stars based on their food alone because my gal brought it home for me, though she said the place looked like it did in the pictures! We had pork fried rice, chicken yakisoba, gyoza, and egg rolls. It all tasted pretty good. It’s not high class, but definitely worth the money you pay. It took about 10 minutes for them to prepare it for take out.

Gave them a 3 because their food is pretty good. But the service not so much. We won’t be going back. Paid 25.00 for 3 meals went outside to eat and wait for food, took a real long time only to realize our food was in a bag on the counter. Then messed up the order twice. And the chicken was very fatty.

Meh. Pass on Teri-yuckies. Run of the mill slam it out untrimmed fatty brown meat chicken. Do yourself a favor and drive ten minutes to Mr. Bento’s. THAT place is the bomb.

Small portions. Rubbery, fatty meat. I ordered the yakisoba. I couldn’t even eat the chicken so i was left with a small handful of noodles. They were ok but certainly not worth $ 7.50. It was nearly $ 30 for two adults and 1 child with drinks. Definitely not worth it.

Don’t waste your time or money here. The only reason I gave a star at all is because I was allowed to use the restroom during my visit. As far as Asian dining, you’ll find more flavor in a bowl of Top Ramen. I’ve lived a robust life so far but have never squeezed my teeth into a shrimp and«crunch!», oh the shell is still on it. Oh look, its still on all of them! Strange culinary delusions indeed. The cook should’ve been a landscaper and the preoccupied lady running the cash register isn’t ready for a retail job. If anything was made clear during the ordering process, it was that they were closing in 10 minutes and we would need to take our food home. Who does that? I have a suspicion that the positive Unilocal are from friends and family of the owners or the owners themselves. Read the horrible reviews first as I would almost bet they are the only honest ones.

I only gave them two stars because they were uhmm nice?! I really don’t know what to rate them. Their customer service was just okay, they didn’t really talk much though. I ordered the chicken and shrimp combination and only ate the 6 shrimp that came with it because the meat was poorly cut. Every bite I took I found myself spitting it out because of the chewiness and fat in the chicken. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and beef combination and he ate the chicken with ease, but the beef was questionable. It was tough and not too appetizing if you ask me. Overall the little restaurant was clean and the flavor of my food was really good, but I just couldn’t eat much of it. We decided to opt out of the rice so we got salad instead and the dressing was not my cup of tea. Also… There weren’t a lot of veggies, just a handful of purple cabbage and a few pieces of broccoli! I don’t think I’ll be returning here. But hey, we all have different taste buds, try it out! Happy Unilocaling…

I had their take out S&S chicken and yakisoba. Both were really good and the prices were also really reasonable.

I ate here when they first opened, the katsu was greasy, but the vegetables and rice were good. For the price of a fast food meal it’s a little healthier and definitely better tasting. The service was a little slow, but it looks like they make everything pretty fresh. I want terribly impressed, but for the price and closeness to work, I’ll go back if I forget to bring my lunch to work.

Did I go to the same place as everyone else here? Wow. This was not good. I’ve said it before: if you have a food in the name of your restaurant, you should probably excel at that food. The chicken teriyaki(are we spelling it teriaki now?) was awful. Just awful. I had chicken breast, which was cut into pieces and grilled. The chicken was rubbery, like it was maybe parboiled and then grilled? I didn’t watch them cook so I’m not sure what caused the texture issue, but there is certainly a texture issue. The chicken doesn’t taste marinated and it’s not cooked in sauce, so it becomes just kind of a vehicle for the sauce. Which — the sauce. It’s good, but there wasn’t enough drizzled over the chicken(and none over the rice) — and extra sauce will cost you, 50 cents for a container. Look, I can afford 50 cents but really? That’s just cheap and not a great business move, in my opinion. It was a big portion that I couldn’t finish because it was just not good at all. Kristen H.‘s review is spot on in my opinion; it’s also the most recent as of this writing. Did something change? 1 star is because the spring rolls were good, albeit rather unceremoniously served with a packet of sweet and sour sauce next to them. I just can’t even get to a 2-star«meh» review, this is a «methinks not» for sure. You are WAY better off driving down Cornelius Pass to Mr. Bento.

First and LAST time going here. I thought I would try something new and gave this place a shot thinking that you can’t go too wrong with teriyaki chicken and rice. The menu is only pictures with no descriptions. I ordered the House Special. Bad choice. It was chicken teriyaki, white rice, green salad, tempura shrimp, an egg roll, and potstickers. The chicken tasted re-cooked, shrimp breading was thick and soggy, potstickers were over-fried and hard, the presentation was sloppy, and the salad was soaked in dressing. The portions were large, but the food wasn’t good so I barely ate it and threw the rest away. I don’t like to waste food, but I couldn’t eat it because it was so bad. I tried calling to let them know I was displeased, but no one answered the phone. Don’t waste your time or money here. There are many other better options in the same parking lot.

Okay place to get some quick take out. I ordered hot and spicy chicken($ 7) with brown rice which tasted decent but nothing great. The veggies were pretty raw and I really wish they cooked them a bit more. In my picture you can sort of see the half raw broccoli.

The food was good, cooked hot to order and tasty. I like the menu options and my order was taken and served quickly. I had the chicken yakisoba and found it to be very tasty. The place was clean and the prices are reasonable. It’s off to the right hand side of Freddy’s — the address that was here on Unilocal showed it to be on the other side so it took a little hunting down.

The salad consisted of a few pieces of lettuce doused with salad dressing. The main to-go container looked as if pieces of mediocre grilled chicken and rice were thrown in there. Taste was okay. Horrible presentation. It was my first and last time there.

Do you like your teriyaki with a bunch of woogie slimy skin under the sauce? Neither do I. Guess what? You won’t get it here. #win. Really tasty. Not many menu options, but the teriyaki chicken is very good. And no nasty undercooked skin.

This place is a hidden gem in a Fred Meyer parking lot. It’s clean and bright inside, but the food is the draw here, not the décor. For all the food carts, hipster joints, and ethnic food in Portland, none of them really make this tasty and quality of food. If you work at Intel, this place is an essential lunch/dinner option.

I guess new ownership in a teriyaki place. Went here for lunch. Huge portions and ok tasting. Real stingy on the sauce though. Didn’t like that, can get more, but $ 0.50 for a little portion. Really! Came with a salad on the plate which was actually quite tasty. Loved the crispy noodles on it. Real small seating area, so I think if for lunch, do a to go order. Only complaint, besides the sauce, is that my clothes smelled after eating there. Really don’t like that. I am pretty sure it is a new place as the service wasn’t as smooth as it should be with a place that’s been in operation for a while.
