Everything I have had here rocks. The buffalo chicken tenders are awesome. The chicken pot pies are incredible. The chili is the exact right account of spicy. Most importantly… Stewart’s root beer in the soda machine.

average. chicken tenders were fresh and a healthier option than normal, but lacked seasoning. the wings were good — might be worth a trip back for those. pretty spartan dining room with generic fountain drinks. probably best for take out.

Stopped in for a fast fresh bite and got the highly recommended chicken pot pie. It’s the real deal! Super hot for starters, so be careful. They’re made perfectly. The crust is crispy; not soggy. The ingredients are just the right proportions too. Not overly salted or seasoned either. If you want to go super healthy split this and get salad! Highly recommended.

Extremely clean restaurant, friendly staff, and some seriously fresh and delicious food. Had a Baja chicken burrito on their daily special menu and it was excellent! This thing was loaded with big juicy chunks of chicken along with all the other fillings expected in a burrito, rice, beans, some veggies. No skimping on the portion and the flavors were spot on, will definitely be back to try some of their other selections.

Sunday @ 2:30pm The place was empty and the food came outed trembly quickly. Waldorf Chicken Salad(on special) hit the spot. It was made with just enough mayo to hold the salad together without overwhelming it. The steak burrito was good. The steak was cooked well, but it could’ve used a little sour cream or guacamole. Overall, clean establishment with outdoor seating, friendly staff, and quick service.

I certainly would have LOVED to give this place 5 stars. It’s impressively clean. Food comes out FAST, and it’s just downright delicious. But what ruined it for me is how nasty the women running the counter was. She didn’t even ask if I needed a high chair, which I clearly did for my son, waited for me to ask her after watching me wander around for one for a good few minutes. Same with a straw. they’re hidden behind a high wall next to the soda fountain, but again she didn’t say boo to me. The potato slices weren’t all that great. they had potential to be but they were ungodly bland. perhaps that’s what she meant when she asked if I wanted them plain. …but again, failed to elaborate. I may get takeout from here in the future, but soggy attitudes frequently tend to ruin the whole restaurant for me. If you’re unhappy… find a different job. ANYWAYS the food was amazing. Very fresh. I got the ABC quesadilla and it was out of this world good. An older gentleman asked how things were, perhaps owner, or manager? He was very polite. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone, …maybe the lady was just having a bad day?

I was in the area for an MRI so I decided to stop by here based on the reviews. It’s a small family owned place in the same mall as the five guys. The gentleman in the kitchen greeted me as soon as I entered(I’m assuming he’s the owner) and was extremely friendly as was the woman who took my order. I got the chicken tenders because they seem to be popular along with the chipotle bbq and ranch and it was really delicious. Deff hand made. 10 bucks for 3 tenders, cole slaw and a drink isn’t too bad when it’s all made in house. Overall, a very nice local place with healthy options and weekly specials. I’ll be back if I’m in the area.

Just visited this place for the first time although its been in the area for some time now. Have to say its a pretty good idea for Hillsborough. There are some fast food places, some good sub places, and a ton of good pizza places. There are not alot of good healthy grill places. Tender is located at the very busy intersection of Amwell and 206 which makes it convenient to get to although not always easy due to the high traffic volume. It is the end store at the end of the strip mall next to the 5 guys and located a building away from Petrocks. If you are not up for fast food and want something less saturated in fat then head on over to TLG. TLG is not as fast but definitely higher quality and better tasting. I went for lunch on a Saturday and there were only a few people eating. They have a wide selection of food items from burgers, burritos, wing, and their tenders. They are very well known for their tenders as they taste alot like chick fil a in my opinion. The tenders were yummy but slightly over cooked. Their honey mustard sauce is very delicious. I also got their medallion fries and they were pretty good. I like that they are different from the normal steak or waffle cut fries. They offer three types of seasoning; old bay, parmesan, and cracked salt and pepper. I got the old bay but there definitely was not enough seasoning on it so I could hardly taste it. They do not skimp on the fries as they give you an entire box that is more than plenty for on meal yet they should since they charge you over 3 bucks for fries as it is not a side. Overall my chicken and fries were under 9 bucks which aint too bad for the amount of food they gave me. I will definitely be coming back and next time I go back I look forward to trying something different.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. The owner is always in the kitchen and is so friendly and accommodating. Offered me samples of the soup and chili while I waited for my grilled tenders, which took all of 5 minutes. Never had a bad dish here. If you haven’t tried it, you are definitely missing out. Check out the daily specials!

Tender Lovin Grill is one of the best lunch spots in Hillsborough. They have great weekly specials ranging from various chicken to lobster dishes. Very friendly staff and the food is always excellent.

We just moved to Hillsborough the past June and have been slowly trying all the local eating spots. This place wasn’t bad. The interior is nice and clean and the staff is friendly enough. I ordered the carnitas burrito bases on another Unilocal review and found it to be pretty good. Not the best I’ve had but certainly not the worst. The flavor was good and the meat was well seasoned but next time I’ll probably try customizing it to with some cheese and sour cream if they offer it. I also got a small side of the cilantro lime rice which was pretty bland. Overall experience was pretty good. I’d go back to try out other items on theirs menu.

I will cry if this place ever closes down. This is a monthly stop for me since I always deserve a payday burrito. I have yet to have a grilled chicken burrito that hasn’t made me full for the majority of the day. Always make sure to check the daily specials that they have printed out on the table. There is nothing boring about the specials as they meet a range of needs from seafood to quinoa. And I have yet to try the giant chocolate chip cookies they have on the counter because I’m afraid I will need one every day.

Moved to Hillsborough last year and really fell in love with this place. The past two times we have had food from here we have had serious stomach issues with symptoms along the lines of food poisoning. Not sure what’s going on in that kitchen, but one instance the quesadilla caused it and this time the seared tuna salad with cilantro lime dressing caused it. Saw another post referencing undercooked meat so there may be a theme here. It’s a shame because other than this everything has been fantastic. The staff is great, the place appears to be kept very clean, the tenders are awesome, the pot pies are our favorite when they’re available. Obviously this can happen anywhere and to anyone, but multiple times was enough for me to voice concern.

Tonight, my husband and I finally gave this place a try. I ordered one of the specials — a chicken mushroom melt with bacon on a hearty whole grain bread with lots of delicious oozy cheese, and my husband ordered the chicken burrito. Both were fantastic — really fresh ingredients, great tasting, and made with tender loving care. We can’t wait to go back and try the other burritos and specials. YUM! Giving this place 4 stars because the fried potato slices we ordered as a side dish were a bit soggy — old bay seasoning was great though; they might have been better if we ate there vs. taking out.
