A Nice Barber Shop

Just got a hair cut here for the first time. Great hair cut and really nice owner. Can’t beat getting a men’s hair cut here. Also the place is nice and clean.

This mother/​daughter are fabulous. Twice now they’ve fixed my grey hair. Service is casual and friendly, I don’t feel pressured to chitchat, and I get a great head massage. All for $ 35!

Since I moved to the Big Island, I had a couple of bad haircuts and I was wary about the same thing happening again. But I’m happy to report that I’ve been back to A Nice Barber Shop three times for haircuts, each time I been super happy with the results thanks to Valerie’s expertise. And she such a terrific person that it makes getting a haircut even more pleasant! I’ve probably been lucky in terms of my timing, but I’ve never had to wait at all for haircut — and the parking is also very easy and convenient. I don’t think you can go wrong getting a haircut from Valerie at A Nice Barbershop!

While the shop was busy, she took me fast and did a wonderful job. Highly recommend!

Love this place! I have been going to this hair dresser since I was a kid and it’s been there for me every time I tried to cut my own hair. Now that I’m past that stage, thank God, I can really appreciate the great service and the quality hair cut and color I’m getting.

New to the area, Unilocal helped my find this little hair shop, just a block from the Farmer’s Market. There was no wait when we arrived, and we got a pleasant young stylist who only works Saturdays (the owner was away). She gave us two great haircuts which were only $ 13 each, and she was very easy and fun to talk with. While my friend was getting his haircut, I could cruise the farmers market and adjoining shops.
The stylist herself gets 5 stars for doing a great, careful, thoughtful job… but I’m withholding the last star on my review for the business, because it doesn’t seem to be set up as much like a traditional «barber shop» as the place I am used to from the east coast mainland… where after your haircut, you also got your neck and hairline shaved with a straight edge razor, the barber burned out your ear hair with a flaming cotton ball, touched up your eyebrows, pulling out extraneous hairs by rolling red twine across your skin, and then finished everything off with a hot towel scalp massage… I probably won’t find that combination of services again anywhere, but I miss it!
Overall we were very happy, and I would highly recommend the stylist we had, an attractive brunette who works Saturdays… didn’t get her name though.

The latest in cutting edge hair styles, lets just say, if other places screw it up, they’ll fix it up.
