Sorry to give this business 1 star review but I didn’t think the shave ice was all that great.
1) The owner or shop worker looked so pissed off and didn’t greet me and my parents with a smile. At least pretend that you are happy and greet customers with a smile. I understand the heat is unbearable, but show that you care about your customers.
2) The worker took so long to make one shave ice. It felt like more than 5 mins per shave ice. Plus there was a couple waiting for their jumbo size of shave ice too.
3) They put the shave ice directly in the shave ice holder instead of in a cone with the holder. The shave ice melted so fast, I had liquid as I gobbled up the ice.
4) The inside of the store, seating was too cramped that there wasn’t anything to divide the order line and pick up line. They need to space out the tables to there is enough space to move around. It was too stuffy in the store. Felt better outside eating the shave ice than inside the store.
5) I miss the former shave ice store that was located here before Wilson’s by the bay. At least the service was outstanding.

We were cruising Downtown Hilo today and decided to stop here after going to Sig Zane. It was a beautiful and HOT day in Hilo, so we decided to get a shave ice. My wife got one and we just shared it. So GOOD! The ice is super fine, which is the way I like it!
The inside of that place is a little cramped. There are tables outside which catches that nice breeze. They have like vintage décor that brings you back to old style Hilo, which is pretty cool. Well ummm, yeah I’m a fan of the shave ice…4 stars.

Shave ice was mediocre, WILSON’S I MISS YOU! The worst thing was the service. The man at the counter was extremely rude and uncaring of his customers. Will not be back.

I think the owner hated his life and this place.
Went here on a hot day with my sister. We both wanted shave ice, or ice shave. Whatever. But we both got the two flavor small cone. The medium and large was just too much.
Cash only. No cards. The décor inside was jsut a cluster fudge of random things. Menu for like thai food? Aloha shirts sold on the side?
Oh yeah, did I mention the owner seemed like he hated his life? Yeah. He was in a grumpy mood that morning.
Oh well. Might as well go to Wilson’s.

We made it in right as they were closing. And i’m real glad that we did. They have this coconut ice cream that I may be able to use as a bribe with my wife in the future…

Good price for tourist area in Hilo.
Great mix of items: romaine, arugula, tomatoes, boiled egg, kalamata olives, spouts, avocado, artichoke hearts…
Great value and quite good.

Looks like a thrift shop fom the 80’s. They get a variety of old & newer household items and all different kind of stuff that you can find at the flea markets. Seems like they buy bulk items stuff from big box stores and break it down to re-​sale it. Looks really ghetto. Lots of stuff are overdue, old & smells…
I had a bad experience there, my opinion, the owner of the store, a Chinese lady, «FRESH OF THE BOAT» can’t speak and understand English at all and a weird white guy, supposingly her husband. Dude looks gay & perverted. It’s a freaky place… By the way, the business is for sale on craiglist, for $ 60,000… Lmfao…
Anyhow, here is the scoop at this place called Mauna kea snow. It’s a hot dog stand with shave ice…
The size of their «hot dog» looks like a tootsie rool on a bun. You put a line of ketchup and mustard on it, and all you see is, a line of ketchup and mustard… U bite into it… all u taste is ketchup and mustard…
The worst part was, before I even gotten the chance to bite that damn hot dog, the «FLIES» beat me to it… So, the heck with it, I was generous enough to toss it away and gave it to them. But, I told the flies to share a little of that with the mongoose and the sewer rats…
The «shave ice «looks like a small mound of shaved ice, pour with your special
.99 cents variety of artificial colored sugar from the big box stores…
You’re better off getting a meal deal at any gas station.
That’s the truth, guess the owners can’t handle the truth. This is America, all things must be clean and sanitize.
