Hey babies! You know me and the squad rolled up looking to get sorted out with some of that good good sea food. I got buffalo style fish and it was fine /my old lady got blacked mahi and it was much more flavorful that what I got. If I am back in the area I would come and get that mahi baby you know everything is better blackened! I’ll see y’all later

This is one of our favorite spots in Hilton Head and this year seemed to be even better. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the cocktail specialties were also delicious. I ordered snow crab legs and what a bargain for $ 40! I had enough to feed 3 people. They were fresh and extremely well prepared. We sat outside and it was very nice. Wait staff is always attentive here and eager to please. We will be back next year.

We had great service and a table outside. I had the Shrimp, Scallops, Grits and Spinach with a cream Champagne sauce. To die for!!! My husband had the Shrimp and Grits. Don’t miss this!

Ordered to go– He Crab soup, with side order of fries and garlic bread. Was recommended by other locals, decided to give it a try. The service was quick and order was packaged well. The staff was friendly for the small amount of time and interaction. The He crab soup was the best«she-crab» soup I’ve ever had. The soup is slightly sweetened and with a spicy twist at the end. Garlic bread was not as delectable, bread seemed a little stiff and very dense. Fries were seasoned well. I didn’t sit in and dine but the décor of the restaurant was casual and relaxed. A couple of large Tv’s and quirky décor. The food was decent for the type of restaurant and area its in.

We were steered here by the lady at the front desk of the hotel. I am very glad we listened. He crab soup was delicious. Shrimp basket was great. Atmosphere and service were way above average. They have inside and outside dining. Live entertainment outside.

We were pleasantly surprised. We had an inside table and it felt very much like a sports bar, however our server did a great job managing the timing of the courses. I had the grilled tilapia and it was cooked right on the money, seasoned well and the portions were more than generous. I definitely recommend this for a nice low key meal.

Great prices and service in a nice location to meet-up with people. Casual and quaint. I had fun there-everyone is cheerful. You can just walk in and not be bothered, but still feel welcomed and comfortable. That’s cool if you are a free spirit and just want to dine because you are hungry. Have fun, feel safe, eat a decent meal, but not be bothered.

Times before the wait has been an hour and a half. We decided to go a little bit earlier and were able to get in without such a wait! My food was great! I got the raw oysters. They come with horseradish, of course. I got the season fries too. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t great either. The fried calamari was so good. I recommend mixing the cocktail sauce with the sauce they serve with the calamari. The cod was just average. If you like to dip in garlic butter, they don’t have that option. They will be nice enough to put garlic salt in some butter, but it’s not quite the same. If you’ve never had oysters but want to try them, I recommend mixing the horseradish with some Tabasco. Then make sure you have your oyster meat loose from the shell. Next you’ll want to put a little bit of your horseradish mix on top. Then you’ll suck down the meat. Key word here is suck. Have fun!

A favorite which doesn’t disappoint we LOVE the hush puppies. They came out hot, dense with a corn meal feel and just the right touch of peppers. Fish tacos were also quite tasty. They come two to a plate. The cream sauce has a slight heat, and could use a touch more. We also ordered the steamed shrimp, which taste like steamed shrimp anywhere. Daughter ordered a burger and finished it off. It came with well seasoned fries. If island vacationing, a recommended stop

The service was outstanding but the food was of that great. Groupon was tough how could that be. The shrimp were pretty small for a seafood restaurant and should have stated in the ocean to grow up. The shrimp was on top of Mt salad so maybe they put smaller ones on salads. Now the key lime pie that is what we are talking a big slice of true key lime pie. That was very memorable. The service was quick and friendly maybe it was just the entrees we ordered, not so sure I would go back

Consistent and delicious seafood, with great service. Great happy hour too! We actually went twice in our week here on the island. Can’t get enough of their fried oysters, and the Grouper melt was great.

Captain Woody’s might be the best seafood on HHI. Grouper or Trigger sandwich is Fantastic. You may want to visit a second time if you love seafood. Waitstaff is very polite. Pricey but worth it.

We have been here several times now over the last few years. Our group of 6 golfers come to the island one week out of every year. We try to pick the best places we can find based on Unilocal and other sources. We were here a few weeks ago. We have consistently had good food and service each time. The décor is perfect for the seafood theme. The outside deck in back is great when the weather is good. The service is good not great. Prices are reasonable. The full bar also has some nice craft beers. The food is the best part of this. We have tried many things here and the best of the bunch so far are are the following. The crab cakes which are available as an appetizer, salad, etc. Also very good is the fried shrimp, grouper and shrimp and grits with a nice gravey on it. A real southern staple. All potions are good size even at lunch. Salads are ample and fresh. The burgers are good as well. Lunch is also a very good time to come here. They take no reservations so we found that come 5 p.m. there is a wait that only gets longer the later it gets. The happy hour is great and they have coupons in the local tourist guides which also include lunch only specials that has a large number of options to choose from. We will be back for sure.

Go to for the grouper melt and stay for the he crab soup. A must place to go every single time I’m on the island. Not much to say — this is a great place.

After renting wave-runners in the morning, my family and I all wanted some great local seafood. A Hilton Head resident highly recommended Captain Woodys as the destination for local seafood, so the six of us decided to check it out. After being seated, we were very disappointed to find out that none of the seafood was local — that it is all flash frozen. However, being a large, hungry group, we still decided to stay and order drinks and food. I ordered some sort of mixed drink that was both unmemorable and tasted non-alcoholic. The table ordered three appetizers — Fried Pickles, Hush Puppies, and Beer Cheese with Pretzels. The pickles and hush puppies were pretty typical and OK, while we were all very disappointed with the cheese and pretzels. Instead of large, soft pretzels with tangy, melted beer cheese, the dish was just a cream cheese-texture yellow cheese served with miniature hard pretzels. Thankfully, the Fish & Chips basket that I ordered was better than the previously consumed drinks/dishes. However, the experience was still mediocre overall, and despite a really nice outdoor space, I don’t plan on returning based on the food and beverages that we tried.
