I’ve come here twice now — once in the evening and once for breakfast. I arrived around seven for drinks and apps. The bar was packed which must be a good thing. The tables in the dining room were filled with families, couples, etc. I grabbed a seat in the corner of the bar for a bit and ordered a cosmo while I waited for friends. The cosmo was on point — a clear pink. My friends arrived and we were able to get a few more seats at the bar as a couple of locals took off for the night. I tried the tater tots — amazing, the buffalo flavored rangoons– I don’t even like buffalo anything and I liked those, calamari — as expected. It was all good. For breakfast I came in on a Thursday. It was great, but hey you have to be really bad to mess up breakfast. They also have the awesome tater tots for breakfast. I had a Hingham Sunrise, an excellent alternative to a mimosa or Bloody Mary. The same manager was there each time and she appears very attentive and treats her employees well.

Breakfast. Nomnom. Go there for breakfast and they will reward you with thick cut delicious cinnamon read French Toast and fantastic sweet potato tots. Parking is a pain, but worth the hassle imo. As far as ambiance, for Breakfast anyway it’s comfortable enough to roll in with sweatpants and a Hoodie.

I have been coming to Stars for a long time as I grew up in Hingham. Today, I came with my family dos brunch. We were able to get a booth quickly. The weekends are a different story, can be busy and have a wait. The coffee was good. I got the New England omelet without the ham. It has bacon, sausage, onions, peppers and American cheese. I swapped the home fries for the bacon tater tots. My dad and I split a single blueberry pancake. The food was fabulous. They were accommodating of my sister’s and mom’s gluten allergy. Everyone enjoyed their food. The waiter was MIA a little. That was the only downside.

I have lived 2 minutes from this place for years and frequented it many times but never realized that they have THEBESTBUFFALOWINGS ever! I just happened to order them tonight because they were running a 75-cent special during NFL games. They were perfect: non-breaded, lots of meat, and just the right amount of spice. Yum yum. Now I have to decide if I can live with myself if I still order the fried pickles and sweet potato fries when I go there next time. Tough decisions!

Stars is located in a great location, right by the water. They open at 7AM for breakfast and it ends at 1PM. Then serve lunch shortly after that. We arrived for lunch around 1:30 on a Sunday and did not have to wait, we were seated immediately. They have a special deal going on — when the NFL game is playing then they have wings for the price of $.50 each. They were good but a little dry. My boyfriend got the turkey burger with sweet potato fries, he thought it was ok. I order the pesto chicken sandwich with avocado and it wasn’t too too special. Overall, it filled our bellies happily.

First off, I LOVE breakfast food… all of it… LOVE. I want to try everything on the menu, all the time. We decided to try something different on Labor Day. We took a drive and ended up at Stars. The host asked us breakfast or lunch(it was just about 12pm). I said lunch and he said that will be 40 mins. I asked, Is there a difference in wait for breakfast? He said that’s about a five minute wait. Ok, Breakfast it is. We were seated in less than 5 minutes. As I looked at the menu I see that they serve chicken sausage and turkey bacon, which is so exciting for me because I don’t eat pork and sometimes you want to feel like you get to order a whole breakfast meat and all! Like I said above I love breakfast food and I like to try a little of everything. Plus I cannot tell you how many times I have ordered a combination breakfast and say skip the meat, but you still get charged for it because it’s my own problem I don’t eat pig products. So this seemed like a nice change of pace. I find something on the menu called the 2×2×2. 2 eggs, sausage, and bacon at a set price added to an item from above. Awesome. I place my order and ask for the belgian waffle with strawberries and if I can do turkey bacon and chicken sausage instead of the regular for whatever upcharge that would be associated with it. I, of course, expect an upcharge in this situation since I know these items are more expensive. The waitress said that she has to go and check and she’ll let me know. My husband kind of smirks thinking — «Why wouldn’t they do it?!» The waitress comes back and says that they won’t do it because the items cost too much to keep in house. I said even if you charge me the difference? She said the chef said no and said he cannot do it and they would not give me a number to charge. So I asked for the menu. She said… oh ok. I think she was going to bring me regular bacon and sausage, which would have been a waste. I explain, «I don’t eat pork.» So I go back to the menu and end up just settling on the waffle because I’m kind of frazzled at this point. I didn’t expect it to be an issue. I dont know why. The waitress comes back and tells me she added on a side of turkey bacon to my order and is like is that cool?! I just nod because I’m hungry and she gives me two thumbs up. My promising breakfast is not adding up to be what I wanted it to be. And here I think I always set realistic expectations. This one got away from me. clouded by my initial turkey bacon and chicken sausage excitement. To note I was charged for the bacon, which I expected. Money for good, goods for money. I know she was trying to make the situation better and I appreciate that to some extent, but it was kind of presumptuous. After my ordering confusion everything else was fine. Just a note: My orange juice and my husbands apple juice were room temperature, which is ok. Some people like it like that. Our food was good. Nothing overly special about the belgian waffle. Strawberries were fresh and not tart at all, which was a plus. My husband enjoyed his omelette. We chatted with the dead fly on the window sill and told the live one flying around our booth that he would end up like his friend if he kept it up. We probably won’t go back. Its not like I’m taking some hard stance in outrage because I’m not outraged. Its just out of our way and since our experience wasn’t out of this world amazing I wouldn’t travel down there for a side of turkey bacon. Take it for what it is. My experience from my point of view.

Have eaten at Stars quite a few times over the years. Great spot for a great draft beer and a burger. Also a fantastic veggie burger ! Today my fiancé and I got the Asian bbq wings, they were perfection ! I got the spicy fish tacos, not too spicy, crunchy and fresh. He got the fish and chips, beautiful piece of cod. Perfect spot after going to the beach. Have been there for breakfast a few years ago, that would probably be my next visit, to revisit their breakfast experience.

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. There was no wait for a table and we chose the«lounge» side(aka, the side where the bar is) rather than the dining room. In terms of décor, it isn’t anything special. Plastic covers are stapled to the tables and it feels more like a diner than I was expecting. That being said, don’t judge a book by its cover, right? The draft list was solid(they had Maine Beer Co. Peeper among others). The server showed up when we needed her and checked in when our drinks were running low, but otherwise, she left us to our lunch. We noticed that they have .50 cent wings during all Red Sox home games and guess what! We were there as a home game was starting, so we decided to give the Spiced BBQ Chicken Wings a go. We ordered 6 chicken wings and they came out with a yummy sweet dry rub on them. They aren’t spicY, they are spicED. We agreed they were really good, my only complaint being that they could have been a little warmer temperature-wise. They weren’t cold by any means, but they were just warm. We also decided to try the pretzel bites. They were pretty good, though overly salty, so we spent a lot of time scraping salt off the bites(really it was just one big pretzel chopped into smaller pieces). I probably wouldn’t order them again because there were some other appetizer options that also looked good and I’d rather try something different next time. I ended up ordering the Southwestern Salad with Panko Crusted Chicken and my husband ordered the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. Both were awesome. My salad was overly generous, with just enough salad dressed tossed in. The panko crusted chicken was really, really good. There were also a few onion rings tossed on top as well. My husband housed that grilled cheese, so I surmise that he quite enjoyed it. What we didn’t have room for was the«build your own ice cream sandwich» — which I’m not going to lie, I really want to try. I think Stars is a solid place for some basic eats that are cooked well, and right for the price.

A little more«family oriented«than I remembered. Some crying children on both sides of us made it a little difficult to enjoy the dinner. The waitress spilled both martinis all the way to the table so now my finger s are sticking to my keyboard. Not a bad place but I was remembering a slightly more upscale dinner experience with my wife.

Breakfast at stars is my favorite! I can’t stop ordering the BLT Benny every time I come. The home fries are to die for and have bacon and onion on them, which gives them lots of flavor. Everything we have tried here is good. I would recommend coming early because there’s almost always a wait. Skip the bloody Mary’s and mimosas– the bloodys taste like cocktail sauce and the mimosas are put in cups with ice and don’t have the bubble of champaign.

This place is like the very definition of a dependable average to slightly above average neighborhood place that serves mostly straightforward American comfort foods. By all indications, by that description, I should be giving this place 3 stars, not 4. Why the extra star… The buffalo chicken rangoons! Chunks of buffalo chicken and cheese flash-fried in wonton skins. How can you go wrong? You simply can not. These can not be beat. Several other restaurants have added these to their menus, and they are only a pale comparison to these ones. I know it’s not exactly the most health-conscious thing you could be eating, but trust me, go there, go there now, get the buffalo chicken rangoons, and you will thank me for it. Oh and they do a solid breakfast also. Good spot on a weekend morning if the crowds aren’t too bad.

I could write two separate reviews on he his place because they are open for breakfast lunch and dinner, but they would boh be in the five category so let’s save time. Best breakfast in town. Coffee is not overly exquisite, there’s better across the street, but the service and breakfast food is great. I’ve come to love the homemade hash breakfast. Hash is serviced warm and not diluted by potatoes. Supper at Stars is very family friendly and offers a good solid choice of selections. I would set this place as a must try, and a staple of the community restaurant

Took my children to breakfast, food and service were good. A bit of a surprise to learn that they charge for«to go» containers… really! Thought that to be very petty! Waitstaff stated many customers have complained about this, so I too mentioned this to the manger who said no one had ever took issue with this in 20 years which obviously was NOT the truth. I guess it’s the principle of the matter. Just don’t feel being charged extra for a tin container to bring home half a pancake after spending $ 40 on breakfast for myself and 2 kids is warranted. Pretty lame policy if you ask me.

Feeling like we’ve been stuck in a rut, we gave Stars a try for dinner on a recent evening. We’ve been there before for drinks(the changing tap list is usually decent at the minimum and sometimes excellent) and lunch before. We waited for a table on the bar side, the dining room side doesn’t do much for me aesthetically and judging by the other patrons waiting, I think that’s the typical opinion. We ordered a few beers and a couple of meals to share. I wasn’t expecting much but was pleasantly surprised; the Cobb salad was generous and quite tasty. My husbands short rib grilled cheese was good and even better when dipped in the accompanying sauce. Our server was fine though not overly attentive — I was never asked about a refill on my water though it was empty before our meals were delivered nor were we asked if we wanted another round of drinks. We will definitely go back… most likely if there is a great beer on tap and we want a decent meal without going through the hassle of making reservations to get into one of the other restaurants in the area.

This is down the street from me and should be one of my go to places, but it’s not, unfortunately. The food is good but service is hit or miss. Usually a miss half the time unless you are at the bar, where service is usually good. It’s open breakfast, lunch and dinner, which is a plus. Breakfast is good and not really expensive. There is a good variety and they do a good job to not make the food boring, which when you are doing basically comfort food, is great. I go there more because it is convenient and the food is good, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there. The view is great, it’s right on the harbor, so you can take a nice walk after along the water.
