one of the best meatball subs in town but be wary– they are getting very stingy with the sauce. Usually, I have to ask for sauce which makes them think I want extra sauce when all I want is my meatballs covered in sauce, not drowning in sauce. Tonight I did not mention the sauce and sure enough once I get the sub home, the sauce isn’t really there, but rather it’s a suggestion of sauce. I called them up and asked if they were out of sauce. The guy on the phone said they had tomato sauce and I told them that it never made it to my sandwich. To their credit, they did offer to make me a new sub, but I live 8 blocks away on the top floor of a 6 story walk up. Ain’t gonna happen.

My wife and I drunkenly stumbled in here around 1:23am and ordered everything except the cute little Italian guy making the pizza(we would have taken him with us if he was willing). But after our long walk home carrying the 11 pound box of, what smelled like a cheesy orgasm, we finally made it back to our place. Each of us had one bite per slice and tbh, wasn’t THAT impressed. My wife had trouble lifting the 6 pound Pasta Alfredo slice, but after she made it to her mouth *while chewing* proceeded on telling me «it needed more salt.» Regardless of what she may or may not have said, I was too busy gazing into her beautiful blue eyes and thinking of what the rest of our night had in store for us. So thank you, Imposto, for kicking us off down the right path!

This place is fine for a late night pizza or grinder, but that’s all it’s good for. Don’t waste your time with the chicken parm sandwich or their dinners, unless you’re hungry and have low standards. They have a solid Italian combo sandwich, but that’s just about it. Delivery is inconsistent, and pizza often comes cold.

Is there a typo in the business title? I think it’s supposed to read«ImpostERs.» This pizza is just not good, especially with respect to the flavorless crust. For the amount of late night business this place gets after the bars shut down, you would think the pizza wouldn’t have time to go stale. They should be cranking out pies left and right. I recommend taking your business to Basile’s a few blocks over or Benny Tudino’s, which tends to shut down a little earlier.

Terrible. I asked for sautéed spinach with extra garlic. It was mostly garlic with a little chopped spinach. It was so watery it looked like soup. No oil, no salt, and it was still cold. The meatballs were horrendous. I think they were frozen as well but they were more like slabs of meatloaf with pizza sauce on them. The linguini was over cooked. The the clams were chopped out of a can. Never again. Huge waste of money. I should have just made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

The food is just ok but really inexpensive in Hoboken. I love their daily lunch deal of $ 5.95 that includes soda, sandwiches and salad.

I order from here constantly. That doesn’t mean it’s fabulous — it’s a basic cheap Italian/pizza place. Even though it’s mediocre and they have messed up my delivery a couple times, they are open super late and when you are dying for some pizza, garlic knots, or anything ultra late night after being out, they will be open and will deliver — which is key! Recommended for late night drunk Italian cravings where you are more concerned with not having to walk to get the food and just eating while falling asleep on your couch.

Was visiting the area for the first and was feeling hungry for something casual. This was the worst slice of pizza I have ever encountered. The Bruschetta slice was still very much cold and worst of all it had NO salt or any sort of seasoning. The dough my completely flavorless, the chicken had no seasoning. I had to sprinkle half the salt shaker to make the food tolerable. Simply the worst pizza I have ever had. Stay away.

The bread they use for sandwiches makes the best Italian sub I’ve ever had. I will continue ordering from them no matter how far away I move. Imposto’s is on my list of «Must Eats.»

This place is awful and inconsistent. As others have mentioned, if you’ve had a few and its late, this really is your only option. Steer clear if you want something decent at a decent hour. They should only be open late and have a set menu that they can actually deliver on.

I did my own little Pizza-Tasting tour on this strip, and tired almost every pizza spot. Not a good idea :/Major heartburn from the whole experience. I’m not blaming Imposto’s. Imposto’s was okay. Standard pizza with typical salty cheese. Better than usual in this area. Outdoor seating was a plus. I’ll come again.

Stopped in for a slice after checking out all the fit peeps doing the City Challenge on the waterfront. The shop is fast and casual, with mounted tvs showing baseball and pizza warmed up for each order. Inexpensive, tasty and quick. Great place for a jumbo slice. The customers were several dudes(construction worker, dad with boys, buddies), and the restaurant offered standard booth seating.

Worst pizza joint! Only good for a drunk eat but even then it’s not all that tasty! You’re better off getting a hot pocket at Walgreens across the street or walk further down to Tony Baloney’s. Staff is a lot friendlier than Basile’s.

I wasn’t impressed with anything that I ordered, but the mushroom pizza was particularly unappetizing. The mushrooms were canned and had the telltale sour taste and vile texture that comes from sitting on a shelf in their own watered-down fluids for way too long. Low quality food in general.

Sober people don’t go here because it isn’t to good. Service sucked. Good location… They luck out with that one. Pizza was below average.

Came here for a slice of pepperoni pizza. It wasn’t anything impressive, even by New Jersey pizza standards, which(I’m sorry fellow Jersyans) isn’t a very high bar to begin with. My New York habits die hard, and so what I normally do with a slice is fold it in half, see, and nibble my way from the pointy side towards the edge, where I’m holding it. However, I found the Imposto’s slice impossible to fold over because the crust kept cracking and crumbling all over the place like matzo, instead of bending like it’s supposed to. It turned into an awkward mess with crumbs everywhere. Forgetaboutit! Mediocre texture aside, the combination of cheese, sauce, and pepperoni was dry and unsatisfying. Something was definitely missing. On the plus side, they did seem to have a pretty good variety of pies with interesting selections to choose from. Buffalo slice, Philly cheese steak slice… come on, that’s exciting! Maybe next time, though given the options available elsewhere in Hoboken, it’s VERY unlikely that I’ll be coming back, unfortunately.

Unfortunately only 1 star from me… That’s because of a polite and attentive staff. As far as the pizza is concerned, I remain baffled how this establishment stays in existence with some of the worlds best pizza a stones throw away in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I suppose after a night of drinking or the feeling of starvation, it would be enjoyable… I guess… Hungry for good pizza? This may not be for you.

Let’s face it, the only thing keeping the lights on in this place is it’s location. It’s on the long strip of bars along First street and it’s open until the wee hours. Drunken hobokenites stumble into Imposto’s like mosquitos into a bright light. Unfortunately, the pizza is about on par with that $ 1/slice variety they sell in the city — except they charge far more. If you want great pizza while you’re in Hoboken, keep walking down first and visit Tony Boloney’s or head up Washington for a giant slice from Benny Tudinos.

Convenient location. Delivery. Open late. Two stars for that. The pizza is pretty good; it’s a step up from Basile’s across the street. Great for your drunk/end of the night bite. Pizza slices are huge, the crust is thin, and they have lots of options. It’s not terrible but sometimes it’s sitting on the counter a bit too long. Much better when fresh! Their Chicken Parm is nothing special to me. Typical pizza place food. Service is usually pretty good. Don’t come here for the best Hoboken pizza; come here for fast, end of night munchies.

I’ve only been here twice, and both times I wasn’t in the mood for plain cheese, which is the true test of a pizza place. I ordered the Meat Packer slice, which was pretty good, and pretty heavy so you definitely only need one. However, you do need to be careful if you are asking them to heat up a slice. They guy couldn’t have had it in the oven for over 60 seconds and he took it out and tried to serve it to me. I iterated that there was no way you could expect me to think that slice is warm in that short amount of time, and I made him put it back in the oven. This time it came out nice and warm, and the crust had a bit more crisp to it, so for my $ 4.00 I was pretty happy with the purchase. I’ll be back.
