Did brunch with dad yesterday for his bday. Service was friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly. He had the deluxe burger, all the fixings(lto, onion rings, cheddar, bacon, fries pickle n slaw) and even added a milkshake and was thoroughly pleased. I had a luncheon special pork loin n Apple stuffing. Also very satisfactory. It was huge. Got a side salad, mashed potatoes, mixed veggies, gravy, buttered bread n crackers with it as well. I was overwhelmed by the quantity, but the tab was still under $ 30 for all that. Left a good tip for our charming waitress and went home happy. It was a nice relaxed and satisfying bday meal.

Average diner. Everything you’d expect at a diner. Food is average service is a little above average. Sometimes the food comes bad but I’d say 8⁄10 times I’m satisfied. Although it’s expensive, which is also something to expect from a diner.

This is a very average diner. It’s not great but it’s not bad. Service is friendly and fairly quick. Food is good. I think the biggest beef I have is that I have been here many times and I guess I expect too much in the way of customer service. Once in a while I pick up food. When I do sometimes my daughter wants pickles. The interesting thing is sometimes they give me pickles for free and sometimes they charge me five dollars for 4 or 5 pickles. What’s that? Even if they don’t recognize me or remember me, I get maybe not giving them to me for free, but five dollars??? You got to be kidding me.

Have you been to Irish times? Yes? Then you’ve probably been here too. If you haven’t, well, it’s just fine. Late night burger at a cheap price, not expecting much, so I was pleased. It’s really that drunk diner visit though that makes the place needed, otherwise I’d never go. Service ain’t the best but they probably deal with drunken idiots from the lot of douchey Irish times patrons.

I have come here 6 times hoping to have a better experience than my last. I have had hair in my food consistently, the service has been… just terrible. I feel bad for them because they are in a great neighborhood location but they need a complete overhaul. I had to stop going and being let down. I don’t expect to be blown away by a diner but this place just kills me when I have gone.

This diner is great. The food is always expertly prepared and delicious. Always hot and fresh! The wait staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. The menu is loaded with all the classical diner fare and you would be hard pressed to try them all in a lifetime. I always enjoy taking my family here! The management/owners are very generous and always give my kids lollipops after their meal. If you are in Holbrook/Holtsville area its definitely worth a stop in and visit!

Great food and great service IMO. Seating is just a little compact in there but not a big deal.

This dinner served borderline spoiled meat in there omelet. Not a good way to make a happy customers. If it’s bad throw it away.

By far not as good as everyone is saying about this place. The mozzarella sticks are the worst I have had ever. Chicken sandwich dry and the service was sub par at best. Proceed with caution.

Very disappointed, my eggs were undercooked. I asked for them to be over medium. The whites were not just undercooked it was still clear. And unfortunately this is one of those dinners that does not have jelly on the table to your toast. I could understand getting undercooked food if there were a lot of patrons in the restaurant and they had to turn out the food fast. But they were hardly any people in there.

Tasty. Went here for lunch on New Years Day. A great mix of families, hung over people, and those who were still drunk. Also, the food was awesome!

Being a proud New Yorker it pains me to say this. It just seems the diners in New Jersey are better then what we have to offer in New York. The Holbrook diner in another shining example of this conflict within me. While nothing here is really bad, nothing stood out. The pancakes not terribly fluffy, but passable the sausage not really flavorful, but OK the bacon not overly crisp or raw but not exciting. The OJ and carton what’s a certain me a beer a brand not one of the your top national juice brands. I had my breakfast at the counter today. This is the setting more suitable for small frame children and women as the fixed chairs don’t leave a lot of breathing room. The age of the chairs is also shown in that they cant slightly backwards making the eating angle a little awkward. The place is so small I heard a staffer tell a regular that the booth that they would be sitting in was called the penalty box. So I won’t be rushing back to the Holbrook diner but if I have some down time, in the Holbrook area, I wouldn’t count it out completely.

This is the diner I grew up in as a teenager. I came here on dates, after nights of drinking with my buds, when I came home on leave after being stationed overseas and more recently, I’ve brought my kids here. I remember being a teenager late at night with my friends, we came here. This one time, There was a couple behind me and we were loud, throwing a few F bombs and the woman threw her water at us! They don’t play in Holbrook! Anyhoo, We’d come here for a big toasted bagel and chocolate milk, pancakes, waffles and cheeseburgers. I came here recently with my kids. They’re weren’t impressed. This generation doesn’t hold the diners in the same reverence like I did(as well as my parents and grandparents) If you’re out late at night and want a great meal? Look for Holbrook diner. Its refurbished, clean and has great food.
