Good coffee for a good cause. Not to mention wide open space, free wifi, available outlets, and options for food. This space has it all. The proceeds support efforts to end human trafficking, and with Houston being a hub for trafficking, it couldn’t be any better placed or any better decorated to spread the message.

The cutest coffee shop I’ve encountered in Houston. Came here with my sister on accident and we loved our new discovery! Such a cute place! The overall atmosphere is so beautiful and their specialty coffees are so worth it. I’m a definite fan and customer.

Didn’t have a 2nd cup, but first one not bad bad. Parking a bit challenging. Interesting rest room.

Love this place! Great open seating, and good atmosphere– feels clean. The chai fritz is delicious, smooth and not too sweet. Best part of it all, they raises awareness on human trafficking in Houston. I’m grateful for businesses that meet the needs of their city.

My recent stay in Houston provided a conclusion that finding accessible wi-fi at coffee shops is quite the feat. On the other end, I can appreciate the vision behind most Houston shops, whether they be promoting a good cause or focus on getting people back to trying out new types of coffee. This philanthropic joint partners with a good cause to put a stop to human trafficking, and I appreciate where my dollars are going. The interior space affords many different organizations opportunities to gather and host events. The coffee, in my opinion, did not offer anything to write volumes about, but I stand behind the cause within the cup. Overall, a decent spot in the Heights that gives another option to coffee drinkers in this burgeoning neighborhood.

Wow, this coffee house is huge! I was surprised to see such a great venue such as A 2nd Cup. It was a blessing in desquise as a stranger recommended this place to me while at another coffee shop. We got to talking and she mentioned all the venue actually has numerous outreach programs and faith based meetings inside the location. I was amazed to see it in person and so glad to see there is a venue that gives back so generously!

DELICIOUSCOFFEE! This place was cute, a little crowded later in the morning. They have an actual parking lot(YAY!) Their food was fine, but portions were a tad too small. For example, the breakfast sandwich bread was cut into a round shape… why would you waste the rest of the bread?! Weird. Just give me the whole thing!

Love the coffee and the cause but the wifi makes it impossible to do any work/studying here! Fix the wifi please A 2nd Cup!

Great place to meet up with people and love how they have decorated the place. I love that their proceeds support ending human trafficking and that they have information available about organizations and ways to volunteer and help end human trafficking. My nonfat lattes are always amazing and taste so rich I can’t believe that they used skim milk.

With all proceeds aiding the fight against human trafficking, this place never ceases to amaze me. The issue of human trafficking is a global problem that unfortunately, is also largely present here in Houston. It is admirable and heart-warming to know that non-profit organizations such as this are beginning to take the initiative to combat this modern-day form of slavery. To make things even better, A 2nd Cup serves amazing coffee with incredibly friendly staff. The space inside is comfortable, spacious, and filled with plenty of seats and outlets. The atmosphere here is great, thus making it an ideal place to grab coffee and either catch up with friends or read a book. A 2nd Cup is truly 5⁄5 stars. Great tasting coffee with an amazing mission? It doesn’t get much better than that! I truly encourage you to come here to support the shop’s fight against human trafficking because every cup counts.

A 2nd cup has a great atmosphere, most notably is the vast amount of space and cleanliness. I elected to order the cortado and it was served in a 3 ounce glass for about $ 3.50. Wish it was a bit bigger but at least it was quite yummy. The décor of this place is rather modern and industrial feel to it, with smooth concrete floors and clean gray walls. Its mission is to raise awareness of human trafficking and even have a large meeting place for meetings in the back. The parking at this joint is pretty good where you don’t need to park down the block on the side of the street and walk. With all the nice things about this place, its most troubled spot is the wifi. It is so spotty and weak that you really can’t do much on it. Since most coffee shops these days have people studying or using the internet, it is vital to have a fast and reliable wifi. I hope they can fix this issue for the future since everything else about this place is great. Overall the true rating would be 3.5 stars since the wifi is such a big negative. I would come back to try its other drinks and food, but instead of an ipad or computer, i would probably just bring a book.

I had such high hopes for this place, but was majorly disappointed when I got there and the internet was the worst I’ve ever experienced at a coffee shop! Best things about this place: — plenty of parking: they have a decent sized parking lot for this area of town, so a great place to meet up with people — Open and spacious: I just love how open the whole layout is. It’s bright and there are plenty of tables. It’s just really open and airy and I really enjoy that it doesn’t make you feel cramped like some places do. It’s also really modern and clean looking. I really enjoy the simple lines and minimalistic look. –Coffee was awesome! My favorite was the Duke of York. It tastes like chocolate milk. OMG I would go back just to try this drink again and see if the other drinks are just as heavenly! Things for improvement: –internet, or lack thereof. In this day and age, it’s almost impossible to go to a coffee shop to study and not have access to free wifi. This place had wifi, but it was so spotty and weak that it couldn’t load anything! If you can’t load your assignment, don’t bank on finishing it on time. On the bright side, if you’re reading or doing something that doesn’t require internet, this might be the place for you, because you won’t be able to load facebook to distract you: P I know they’re working on fixing their internet, but hopefully they get it up and running soon. I really would like to go here again and have this added to my list of go to study places because there’s so much potential for me to fall in love with this. Til then, 2nd cup is staying a 3 stars, but waiting to move it to a 5 star place soon!

A post brunch coffee sounded good(and potentially a pastry because Sunday food calories don’t count) and I found this place on Unilocal near where we had brunch. Sadly for me, they must have had ravenous people early in the morning because not a pastry survived. We did however have a Chai Fritz and it was good — chai with an espresso shot. The atmosphere was that of a hip and non-chainy Starbucks. It was spacious, slightly industrial décor, quiet, and comfy for a coffee and a convo. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again, but it’s a fine coffee spot.

Definitely a great coffee shop that represents some of the best things I love to see in Houston: driven people with a vision, charitable causes being promoted, and a bright and welcoming atmosphere. The parking is pretty easy which definitely doesn’t hurt, and the environment is conducive to work, reading, reflection, conversation, staring off into space… I had a «chaider» which is a seasonal item which I hope makes a yearly return. It was tasty and just the right temperature. Whoever designed this place has a crush on mid century modern furniture which I can appreciate and oddly helps me focus. Coffeeshops are always a little bit awkward for me because there is a natural acknowledgement that I’m paying 300% for something I could easily make at home, but here I feel better about what I’m consuming in many ways, and will definitely favor a return soon.

Iced Mochas you’ll become addicted to! The Festive Grilled Cheese is 5 stars for sure! Or if you love chocolate & raspberries the Red Barron is a must! Complete volunteer based. All monies go toward stopping Human Trafficking. They work with several organizations in the fight to end Human Trafficking.
I love everything about this coffee shop, especially the fact that they raise both awareness and funds for local organizations to fight human trafficking, which Houston is unfortunately a part of. Other great things about A 2nd Cup: –Big parking lot –Friendly staff –Yummy hot chocolate –Plenty of tables and couches –Spacious work area with big windows and tall ceilings –Free wi-fi

I absolutely love the concept of this place. It is super spacious with great lighting and my favorite part was to discover the shower in the restroom. The barista was super helpful. There were a lot of options to choose from but I stuck to my original choice of latte. The place is huge and roomy with PLENTY of places to sit. Even though it was very crowded when I got there on a RAINY Sunday evening, I was able to secure a spot to myself. It was there that I realized that this coffee shop not only has good service/ambiance/coffee but they are a great coffee ship whose main objective is to bring awareness to ending human trafficking. This place definitely brings all the hipsters to the yard.

Found my new coffee place! We had the Secret Squirrel and the Chai Fritz. Loved both of them!!! Not only is their coffee super tasty, but they are a non-profit coffee shop aimed at raising awareness and funds, cup by cup, for local organizations that fight against human trafficking. This place is spacious and beautifully designed. There is a bulletin board in the center of their huge shop with clipboards that allows you to understand what they and other organizations are fighting for. There is even a tear sheet that allows you to get involved and participate in the many organizations and events around town.
