The restaurant is now called«golden dragon-Houston.» I placed an order online and got a confirmation email at 616 pm saying my order would be delivered at 7:02 pm. At 7:15 pm I called the restaurant to see what was going on and was told that they didn’t get the order until 6:49 pm and that it would be delivered at 7:34 pm and that there was«nothing she could do.» When the food finally got here it was wrong. Instead of chicken fried rice I received pork fried rice. So I called and told him it isn’t chicken unless their chicken is dark and red, so they said they had to ask the kitchen then call me back. When she called back she told me to pack up the«chicken» fried rice to send back and that they were sending another. An HOUR later he gets here and has to check the old chicken fried rice before he will give me the new chicken fried rice!!! Absolutely the WORST customer service and delivery service! 2 ½ hours later I have my chicken fried rice… and it SUCKS. P. s. It’s a Wednesday.

First time to try this place & went for dinner. Very good pan-fried dumplings — substantial portion and not skimpy with the pork. Fair enough Mongolian Beef(have had better) & pretty good Combination Fried Rice. Would definitely go back to try the lunch specials.

This was an accidental review thinking I was reviewing Triple A Restaurant. Have no idea of the quality of the AAA China Diner.

This is my favorite Chines restaurant in the Clear Lake area. I can easily recommend the Basil Chicken and the Jalapeño Beef. The Red Curry Chicken is also good if not exactly what you’d get at a Thai Restaurant. There have been several Chinese restaurants in this location so if you haven’t been there in a while then give AAA a try.

The Phở is the reason I come. They have an excellent broth that has just enough ginger and zest to it to make you crave it fortnightly! I went here often when I lived in the Regatta apartments. They do a good job with moo shu pork, Chinese pancakes and duck sauce. I frequently got food to go, but I always ate my Phở as a diner. Excellent.

This is one of those neighborhood restaurants that everyone orders from on Sundays. It’s a classic Chinese restaurant that offers your typical menu, but done right. They always cater to any special requests that I may have… so service is always great. You can not go wrong with your standard Chinese American dishes, but then they do some things so well that you are forced to write about them again. The other night we ordered potstickers from here for the first time… And they were SO GOooOd, I am now forced to brag about them. They take a little longer(20 mins.) then most of their dishes, they are usually lighting fast with their take out. They were crispy yet gooey, and so yummy, my mouth is watering! I will be back for them, and you should too!

I was seriously craving Chinese after work today so I headed to China Star for some to-go grub. I ordered the chicken lo mein, egg rolls, and a small won ton soup and my order came out to about $ 12. I really wanted steamed pork buns instead of the soup but it was going to take 20 minutes and since I hadn’t called ahead, I opted for the soup. The won ton tasted like water with some pork and noodle in it, even after I added a whole package of soy sauce into it. The egg rolls were much better but a little on the small side. Really good with the duck sauce though. The lo mein however, amazing! Seriously some of the best lo mein I’ve had. And I can’t believe how much they gave me. $ 6 for a huge Styrofoam container packed full of noodles, veggies, and chicken. I’ll be eating the stuff for days and I’m OK with that.

China Star ain’t what it used to be. The menu is the same — all the Chinese-American standards, plus some interesting Vietnamese on the back menu. The waitresses are still the same — and their command of English hasn’t gotten any worse — or better. But somehow the food doesn’t satisfy the way it used to. I’ve been coming for ~15 yrs; it’s very convenient to NASA. I like the interior; especially the large chinese wooden tiles on the ceiling. A friend suggested it today and I thought I’d give it another try. Trying to get a spicy pork dish *without* a sugared or cornstarched sauce was even more of a hassle than I remembered it before. It still came out sweetened and, although I’d ordered it spicy, hardly spicy-hot at all. There used to be a wait for tables there. Today was a Monday, but even so there were only about another 6 tables seated the whole 1.5 hr we sat and talked. I used to come here with a lunch group of about 10 guys, but it gradually fell of the rotation. It left me wondering — did China Star really decline? Maybe it was just that a large number of innovative Chinese and other Asian restaurants opened up along NASA1 and along Bay Area Blvd, and our standards improved. Still, I know I’ll give them another try in a few months. I’ll try the Vietnamese menu; I seem to remember being happy with their duck way back when.

Unlike the previous reviewer, I HATED the pad thai– it was spaghetti with ketchup and tomatoes thrown in. Ugh! I couldn’t eat it and then I had to pay for it! Never will go there again. I’ll stick to the 888 in Dickenson and in Clear Lake.
