Pretty cool place. Mature-ish crowd. Decent drinks. Probably will return at some point.

One of my favorite spots. Sometimes I stop in for my night cap on my way home from washington and sometimes I will just start and end my night here. HPD is in the building on the weekends. Nice Décor, nice staff, great music variety. I use to remember hearing the juke box play a little country now and then. Small dance floor. The entire spot is a little on the small side but it probably is for the best. Mature crowd. I think I almost saw a fight but luckily there were enough adults around that they stopped the«almost» fight themselves. Great live music on Thurs. Excellent crawfish this past season. LOVE And I think that if you go out to have drinks served to you, you should expect to tip. My parents taught me. if you can’t afford to tip, you can’t afford to go. It’s just that simple.

Although this place is pretty small it packs a nice punch. The crowd is not the typical gathering of rowdy youngsters but more so, older and mature adults. The music was jamming and the drinks… well eh… could have been better. I am a fan though.

DON’T GOTOTHISBARIFYOUDON’T TIPTERRYTHEBARTENDERBECAUSEHEWILLNOTSERVEYOU. So stupid. I don’t know why some people even bother to open the doors of a business and then disrespect the very people who patronize them. That’s what Azul bar at Buffalo Speedway does. Maybe they should have learned from Smitty’s on old Spanish Trail(now closed). I was a regular Azul bar. I don’t drink much. When I do go to the bar sometimes I tip sometimes I don’t, it is contingent on the service. Anyway, I liked the way Terry made this drink(cosmo) so I ordered one. For several minutes he took orders & not mine. He had done that before. I was even expecting it. I knew he would take care of his regular tippers first. But it got to a point I was embarrasses how he was passing over me. I asked him when was he going to wait on me & he said maybe I should tip. I was shocked & felt disrespected. I told him I tip depends on service. He finally fixed my drink and I tipped him $ 2. I thought it was over but I stayed away from that bar. I went back to Azul Superbowl Sunday 2012. I wanted that same drink. Terry was not busy but continued to talk to a customer and did not serve me. When the female bartender got free, he told her to fix my drink. I felted disrespected again. I let her fix the drink and when she was almost finished fixing, it I walked out. I never returned to Azul again. I don’t even have an interest in going there. So sad how we treat our own and black women.

Caribbean night is here on Sunday. Some of the greatest tracks you’ll hear in Houston. Some classic reggae and ska thrown into the mix. Phenomenally good DJ from Trinidad. Forget his name, but not his music.

NOW called Libra Lounge. Check out my review of Libra Lounge at Azul Lounge Review December 2011 Thanks to the previous reviews by other Unilocalers, I was more at ease about the parking situation. I did find a parking spot around 11 near the mattress store and my car was just find. Some of my other fellow loungers parked at CVS and were good too! If I had known how the parking was at this place and the availabiity of seating, I would have worn my heels ;) Drinks: pretty reasonable: 2 drinks and I still had change from my $ 20 – and I tipped! Hurricane was a little too sweet, but it did the job, rum and coke had to be sipped sloooooooowly – very strong! On a Tuesday, this place was extremely crowded! It was open mic night and all kinds of talented people graced the stage with their vocals, which is fine if you are strickly looking for lounge atmosphere, BUT me and my friends wanted some intermissions of dance music in between them sets – especially when people were singing slow songs! That’s my own argument! Crowd was def mostly men in their late 30’s and up that night, so no one to really spark a conversation with, so either come with your crew or your boo!

This is your usual strip mall«lounge» next door to a CVS. That said, it was a ok for what it was. VERY crowded on a Friday night, but with no cover I can’t complain. The DJ played mostly southern hip hop with some R and B thrown in every once and a while«for tha ladiez» :) about the ladies, they were dressed to impress… somebody; with wigs weaves and phony ponies galore! love it! the guys had their normal club gear on, you know, sunglasses at night. no athletic wear allowed. There were police officers at the door for security which was just fine by me. The parking was crazy, but there was more FREE parking across buffalo speedway at the discount tires lot(and my car was still there and unmolested at the end of the night, hallelu!) My complaint is that the TVs were showing M. Night Shamalan’s «Signs» that was on TNT or whatever that night. With the commercials and everything. They need to show music videos or invest in a DVD player or something. I was getting caught up in the movie, lol Just know, you don’t come to this lounge to lounge and talk, the music is wayy to loud for that. You come to see and be seen, and macked on(do the kids even say that anymore?)

This establishment is a true lounge. Now the music is decidedly African-American oriented so those looking for top 40 or some kind of balance would probably be set back alittle by the mostly Hip-Hop and smattering of R&B, I love the place. It is a true lounge. Plenty of standing room and adequate seating around the perimeter of the establishment give patrons the chance to dance just about anywhere they are. Weekends get pretty crowded but overflow parking is located across the street. Don’t park by McDonald’s they tow! So far no trouble or disturbances of note for the 20 to 30 times I have patronized this establishement. Happy Hour prices are great. Drinks are pretty strong so if you actually want to taste your mixer(coke, Sprite, etc) you will have to specifically tell the bartender to add more.

We put four non-Texan natives together and came up with a neighborhood lounge that was convenient, but not exactly the place for four strangers to finally meet for the first time. Some neighbors and I decided to get together on a Thursday night, all of us being interns who all came from anywhere but Texas. The live band was playing so loudly, we could barely hear ourselves scream out our professions and names. And my whiskey coke order? Perhaps the coke evaporated due to the body heat coming from the overcrowded bar.
