We had Dabeli, Vada Pav, Dahi Puri, Chaat Puri, Malai Kulfi and Pista Falooda. Everything was good. The kulfi comes on a plate cut into pieces-looks like kaju katli, it was very yummy.

Fairly limited but high quality, food truck version of Indian fare. All vegetarian. This is not where you want to head to if you are looking for a large indian spread. He has limited choices but I’d rate all his stuff as pretty high quality. He is also not, shall I say a keen follower of «client servicing». His attitude is pretty direct — he makes good quality Indian food and if you like it great, if not too bad. Cash only from what I recall. I recommend his dahi sev puri which is a yogurt based sauce with hard nachos and other spices. His bhel puri too is pretty good. I don’t agree with the reviews on «hygiene». You are eating off a gas station, so if you are looking for a Ritz Carlton, this clearly is not it. I take my kids here often and so far, no issues. Good luck! I dock him one star for his«monk like» demeanor. Food is five star.

I agree with lot of other reviewers, food is great but service is really bad and rude owner/cashier… he has so many customers waiting in line, he could turn this into something really huge, but with this attitude and so many other great restaurants in houston this place is going downhill very soon… have made up our mind we wont go there again… do yourself a favor if you have some self respect eat somewhere else…

Rude service. I would give negative 5 if I could. We ordered a large order for 10 people, and he is gave us a few items, one of the dishes was missing something so I ask him and we says don’t interrupt me till I give you all the food. How can this guy be so rude? I understand you have lots of customers but the service is terrible. Go if you want to be treated rudely, and if you do go then don’t ask questions. Also who charges 5 cents for spoons, and additional amounts of money for extra plates. I asked for sweet chutney and he asked for $ 0.25, really? Terrible service and over rated food. Would never ever go back! To the restaurants defense, there is always a line so people obviously enjoy his food. To the management — you have a loyal following of customers who come eat, try to treat every one with respect they are your customers. Also raise your prices per dish by $ 0.25 but don’t nickel and dime for every plates, spoons and forms. I really was hoping to enjoy the experience but it was not meant to be.

This guy is unhygienic. He was sweating and wiping with his hand and what I saw that he was taking care of food preparation in between without gloves. Yukesssss!!! Again what happen to Indian in Houston. The only and only thing i Like about this place if Bread Pav. So SOFT that part I will give 4star. Rest I can give only 1 star. Dahi puri 2 star… Dahi was thick soif you like that way than better. PAVBHAJI Worst thing I have ever had it. THEYDONOTHAVESPICELEVELEVERYTHINGISSPICYEVENYOUORDER MILDThis Uncle has to learn how to make mild food. Update 9÷5÷2014 We went this place at 8.50pm. There was a line with 7 orders. I waited for 58 mins to give my order and it was already 9.48pm. That typical nonsense uncle said we are closed of you want to order then u have to wait for 50 min to get your order. This is total waste. He has to announce that it will be wait time of 50 min. I understand that He was super busy with orders with his coworker. He has to hire someone for weekends if he is not up to par with handling too many orders. Remember some day he will loose his customers also. With customer service I would give 0 even I can go –5 also if I have an option. I can see after me there are 2 other people went without order so he lost 3 order today.

Authentic delicious Indian street food here. There aren’t any better places to eat chaat in Houston. I drive all the way from downtown to eat here. Must go!

Horrible food and preparation. The guy over their was very rude. They don’t have any culinary skills. Will never go their again. I had serious stomach problem for next 2 – 3 days
Ok first thing fits good food. My favorite thing here was dabeli. Now cons: Expensive for food truck place. Also charges extra for to go boxes. For food truck it was expensive for 4 items. We paid around $ 27.00 for 4 items to go.

Excellent Indian chaat place in a parking lot of some store which gives roadside feeling, with Bollywood numbers being played. And mostly fresh food(Well I have been here only on weekends so don’t know about rest of the week).

Great place to grab some quick snacks… Cash only and open only for 2 hours in late evening. Owner is bit rude, but that’s alright with niche food truck! My favorite is Dabeli…

Bansuri is magical. Southern Indian street food, music pumping out of the speakers, long line of people. Actually no, make that ridiculously amazing Southern Indian street food. Let’s get the practical stuff out of the way first, it’s going to make your life a bit more relaxed this way. Bansuri is slightly hidden by a few trees, be on the look out for the Gas Grill sign. You’ll see Aisha’s on the right, slow down. There’s a little parking lot past the white fence — pull in there. I wouldn’t recommend parking directly opposite the food truck. If you do, back into the space. Also, get here early if you don’t want to wait in line for your food. You can bring chairs, eat in your car, eat on your car, or sit on the steps of the gas grill shop. It’s street food — eat it here, not at home. I’d scoured the short menu(there’s a menu posted in the business pics section) for three days solid before my first visit. Scoured. Oh, even before going, I knew that there would be more visits once they reopen on September 1st. I’m only moderately familiar with Southern Indian Street food. Let’s say I took the intro course(ISF301), but skipped a few classes. I love idli, vada, dosas, sambar, samosas, pakura, bhel puri, and dahi puri. That level of street food, but when we scratch through the surface into the various other layers of Indian Street food, I’m the gal in that intro course who somehow miraculously scraped by with a B-. Since every person( Unilocal and other Houston blogs) recommended the Dalbesi, that was #1 on my list. I heeded the warning that one serving of anything would carry me through next Tuesday, but ordered a second dish because it was the last day the food truck would be open for the rest of the summer. I was a bit panicked. Dahi Vada. Oh, it was pretty awesome. If I had to choose between the two dishes, I wouldn’t. Why would I do something foolish like that? The Dalbesi are essentially two peanut curry sliders, grilled on the side. The rolls are similar to Hawaiian sweet bread. The curry is sweet and savory, then it bites you back and slaps you around a little. They were fabulous and helped me sweat out the remaining toxins that the day’s earlier yoga class hadn’t gotten rid of. The Dahi Vada is… well, let’s just call it a vada yogurt tamarind soup. Vada(for those of you who have yet to take ISF301) are fritters. These are doused and soaked in dahi(a thick yogurt) and then garnished with tamarind chutney, mint or cilantro leaves, and various spices. My two classmates/dining companions each took a sporkful, then asked for a few more. As far as the spice-level, I recommend either going medium or mild. Medium is very tasty and will keep you from over-stuffing your face with excellent vegetarian fare. It will also knock you down a few rungs on the humble ladder. Gosh, September 1st can’t come quick enough! Damn you, cruel Houston summer!

Wowwwww… Indian people do not know service!!! This place completely hits the stereotype of rude Indian people. First of all, the guy in the cart makes me wait ten minutes outside the cart to even take my order. That’s how backed up he is! Only two people working the cart, including himself. Then he says he’s so busy, he won’t take special orders! I asked for a dish without onions, and he said he wouldn’t do it today. Then I asked if there were any items on the menu without onions and he kept on sayin, «No mam, we are not doing special orders!» Dude, that’s not what I asked. After my third time asking he finally gave me an item on the menu he could do. Lastly, homeboy is COCKY. He said no one in Houston can make a dish in 30 seconds like they do… yea so why is there a cranky line if people waiting to order their food and a hungry group of people waiting to get their food? Overpriced and bad service. If you want chaat, you can go to any other place in Houston and expect same food, better service. Don’t waste your time here.

just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, some food truck pops up out of nowhere and offers a whole bunch of dishes you’ve never heard of… and i could’nt be happier when that happens. dabeli, ragda patties, and one of my favourties just for good measure, pav bhaji, are all jam-packed with exotic flavors. these dishes are vacations for your taste buds. i ordered all three of the dishes spicy, and in response, was told that i was ‘a brave white guy,’ but honestly, the spice level was totally bearable.(i evidently appear to have a spice-adversity complex, because i regularly receive warnings of this sort). on weekends, the line in front of this truck wraps around the parking lot, and for good reason: the food is amazing, its cheap, and it’s hard to find this much flavor in any dish, anywhere else.

When I first heard about this Indian Food Truck I was very very excited. I’m used to Taco Trucks, but an Indian Food Truck? Who would’ve thought? There isn’t anywhere to sit. We ate on the metal ledge but that was sufficient for us. The owners were very nice and very pleasant to talk to. It’s not open for very long(2 hours each day I think) but it’s well worth the visit. The best dish from this place is the Dabeli. We ordered it «spicy» and it did not disappoint. I’ve had Dabeli in Mumbai and this tasted just the same. The other favorite was the Ragda Patties(again ordered«Spicy»). The spices and flavor were spot on. Definitely felt like I was eating it at home. We also tried the«Bhel Puri» and«Dahi Puri» and those were both very tasty. The” Pav Bhaji”(one of my favorite indian dishes) was also quite delightful. I am a very big fan of this place. If my mom isn’t cooking any of these dishes(and she’s an awesome cook in her own right), then this is the next best place to get this food. Definitely go check it out, just make sure they are open!

The venerable«Indian Truck» of Houston serving chaat, Indian street food commonly seen in Mumbai. What’s more to be said that other websites haven’t already? I’ll give my take — this truck just north of West Bellfort on Wilcrest seems to be quite popular despite its short hours. Seriously, 6 pm to 8 pm? That’s ungodly for the nightset looking for some good and cheap Indian grubs. PROS: + AFFORDABLE + mild, medium and spicy(although mild is pretty spicy in my book) + good number of parking spots * easy access to US59 + made fresh to order — we had to wait 15 minutes(this apparently is not fast food) CONS: — cash only — short hours — no tables or chairs(eat on the car or take it to go) NOTES: + PURI(there’s at least three kinds) were tasty. I would definitely order any of these. They were the star of the three items I ordered. + DABELI(Indian sliders) were tasty. + RAGDA, the stew, was also tasty but I can see how it may also be more of an acquired taste than the other two items I had.
