Discount Tire Store – Houston, TX

I am so displeased with this Discount Tire. My grandmother and I came to get one of her tires changed and the attendant (I won’t mention his name) couldn’t get the tire off so he sent my grandmother on her way. Later the same day, my grandmother was riding ALONE and the tire blew out. She has to call Triple A and that man got the tire changed in less than 20 minutes. Thank God my grandmother was not injured or attacked while being STRANDED. Please train your mechanics better!

Make an appointment! Otherwise you’ll be here 2+ hrs! The employees are friendly and they give you free water, but the wait times are completely unreasonable in my opinion.

These guys were awesome! I made an appointment the day before and they had me in and out in less than an hour. On top of that they pulled the nail out of my tire, patched it up, and checked all my other tires and didn’t charge me a dime! I may not have spent any money today but they’ve definitely earned my business in the future!

Great costumer service! I worked with Felix, there were a lot of people in front of me when I got in, they got me in and out quick. They were able to replace both rims that had been messed up and two tires within a couple of hours.

I was there along with about six or so other customers first thing when they opened after getting a flat on my way to work. The staff was courteous, and they got me in and out fairly quickly. Watching them all hustle reminded me of a Jimmy John’s commerical. Good job!

After a series of bad experiences with this Discount store over the last few years, I feel the need to post a review. The last straw occurred last week after 3 trips and 3 tires purchased to solve for a ride issue. First, the manager recommended that I leave two badly mismatched tires on the front of the car. The ride was, predictably, terrible. 2^nd visit, bought another tire. All tires now match, but one 90% and one 100% tire left on front with two new on back. Ride was still terrible. 3^rd visit — insisted that two new tires be rotated to front. Ride now ok. After each visit, I checked tire pressure. They were super high — 44 & 48 on the new ones. I asked before leaving if all tires had been set to 35lbs and was assured that this was done. This is a problem that I’ve experienced over and over with Discount. I experienced a new tire severe failure side wall blow out at freeway speed about 2 yrs ago. I know believe that this was likely due, at least in part, to Discount over-​inflating the tire. After being a loyal customer for over 20 yrs, I won’t be using Discount Tire any more. Their service level has dropped dramatically over the last 5 yrs or so. I’m not sure what has gone wrong, but suspect that a change in leadership/​ownership occurred. AVOID DISCOUNT TIRE!

This location is usually very quick, and the staff are friendly and courteous. Make an appointment online and they will honor it as soon as you walk in, streamlining your experience. There is a large waiting area inside the small storefront, and the location is very convenient for anyone living in the Heights or even closer to downtown. We will continue to patron this location and would recommend to anyone looking for a reliable, fast tire store in Houston.

This discount tire has been a super odd store to deal with. They have an issue with keeping my continental tires available and usually order them as needed, but on several occasions it took forever.
With that said, they do always take care of me. Whether that’s been loaner tires while I wait, discounts, etc to right things as needed.
Not every store is so helpful, so I give them credit for that even if we’ve had some bumps.

Not all Discount Tires are created equal. I’m in 77 092 and this is not the closest location to me. However, I would much rather drive a little bit further to this location. The people here are super friendly. When you call someone actually picks up. When you get there, they listen to what you ask and sell you that. Not a lot of upselling and they try to wrap you up asap.
I will continue to come to this location other than any in the area.

Super friendly guys and quick service. Went in needing my back tire fixed and they fixed it for free. There were three people in front of me and I was still out of there in 45 minutes. Free water and coffee in the lobby. I’ll definitely go back.

Although it was only a few months ago that I wrote a review for this particular location, I just had to update my review after my experience at the store today.
If you read my original review, I had mentioned that Discount tire will fix your tire if it’s repairable for free. Well, that’s the reason why I came in here today. One of my tire pressures went from 33 psi to 15 psi in a matter of minutes. That means, I had a leak somewhere and it needed to get fixed pronto!
When I came in the store, I was greeted by a gentleman named Kim — or at least, that’s the name on his uniform. He asked me what I needed done today and I told him that I just needed one of my tires to be plugged. He came out with me, took the mileage on the car, and proceeded to check the tread on all of the tires using one of those cool gadgets that would give you the actual tread reading instead of just guesstimating with an upside down penny.
After he was finished checking the tread life on my tires, I made a comment, «that’s a pretty cool little tool. I need to get me one of those since I’m still doing the upside down penny method.» He told me that it’s a very useful tool and proceeded to hand me the little tool and said, «you know what? You go ahead and keep this.» Whoa! Mind. Blown. I mean, the tool is probably not very expensive and only cost a couple of bucks. But the fact remains that even though I was in the store getting a free service and not making the store any money, I was still treated with the highest courtesy and amazing attitude. Yes, it was a small thing, but sometimes it’s the small things that count.
With their price match policy, the free services that come with purchase (tire rotation, balancing), free service without any purchase (puncture repair, tire inflation), amazing employees (at almost any discount tire that I’ve been to), and free bottle water while you wait; I don’t know why anybody would go anywhere else for their tires needs. Seriously.

Probably one of the fastest discount tire location we’ve been to. We got there around 10am and had our new tire on by 10:20am. Staff is amazing and very professional, probably about 10 other cars in front of us and managed to get us out quickly.

I’ve been to this location 5 – 6 times over the past 18 months or so, and every time I go they are super busy but super helpful. The staff are respectful, hardworking, professional, and nice. I have not yet purchased tires here yet, but I have had air pressure checks and tire patches, both for free. What impresses me most is that no matter how busy they are, they are attentive to the needs of their customers, and they are working hard to get everyone seen timely. There is no standing around at this location, and I appreciate that.

Excellent service. They are fast and they give the best prices available for your tires. They took care of my sensor on the car as well. The waiting room has coffee/​water and clean restroom. I go here for all my tire needs not because it’s the closest but they have the best service besides going to the actual dealership (but won’t cost you an arm and a leg).

This place always does a good service and has my car out in a timely manner. Also they don’t seemingly pull any bs on women which is a great thing because some car shops will do that. Good job y’all! Keep up the good!

Showed up at lunch (without an appointment) and lobby was crowded. Only had to wait a few minutes to be seen by someone. They had 4 tires in stock at a decent price ($ 69). Told me it would be 60 – 90 minutes but had it ready in 45. Total cost $ 431. Quick and friendly service. I’ll go here again if I need tire service.

Genuine customer service and satisfaction delivered in one of the most professional and polite manner is hardly something you would expect from a tire shop, but that is exactly what I received on an otherwise pedestrian Friday afternoon!
One of my car’s tire was acting up and I went to this store either looking for a replacement or fix. The courteous associate (Eli), suggested I didn’t need a replacement and instead they would fix a minor puncture my tire had incurred. This came as a surprise as most of these businesses persuade their customers to buy tires even if its not needed. But not Discount Tires! Not only that, but the store fixed the minor job on my tire for free!
I tried my best to convince the store to charge me for something or atleast take a minor fee, but they wouldn’t budge! Yes, you read it right… I was persuading the business to take atleast a few of my dollars for their services!
These delightful people have definitely locked me in as their customer and I am sure to come here for all my tire purchases and service. And ofcourse, I will make sure to recommend them to people I know.

The staff is super friendly. They answered all of my questions without an attitude (Which I find a lot of the time at auto places).
They gave me a deal on my tire because they were out of the one I wanted.

This discount tire location is the closest to my house but is also the best one I have been to in Houston. The guys here are so nice and always do a great job. It makes coming in before work with a nail in your tire a little more bearable! They get you in and out in a timely manner and are sure to keep your interior clean even with dirty hands. I always choose discount and will continue to buy new tires from them moving forward. Quality service and workmanship from some good people.

I always come here because they usually have good service and if you come at the right time, quick. I had a flat and a cut in another tire. Thank you pot holes! I was 3^rd in line. They said it would ½ hour. At 1.5 hrs I asked and it had obviously been completed and no one called me. They did apologize but couldn’t tell me what happened.
They do have water for you but the «cooler» seems to be broken and all the water is very warm. Almost heated.
And when I tried to leave, they had both exits to 20^th Street blocked by cars.

Great customer service fair price. They honor warranties with no hassell. It was very busy and they greeted every customer with a smile.

Great customer service. My husband and I both dropped off our cars here for new tires. They were very attentive as soon as we walked in and got us out quickly.

I was driving to get lunch when I hear an unusual rumbling sound from my car. I pulled over and one of my rear tires was busted. I called AAA real quick so they can put the spare tire on and then I drove to Discount Tires. The best thing was I walked in and didn’t need an appointment. I drive an all-​wheel drive car so I decided to have all wheels replaced. They didn’t have enough of the Bridgestone tires my car had so I bought some Pirellis the sales person suggested. It took less than ah hour and I was back on the road driving again. Quick, painless, and good customer service.

In and out in twenty minutes on a Saturday morning. Went in for a tire rotation and pressure check. I also appreciated them giving me heads up that this would be my last rotation on my tires. They advised me I may have about 6000 miles before I need to get new tire (I’ve had them for 4 years, so no complaints). They gave a range of rate choices. Great customer service all the way around.
My only complaint is that they don’t have Wifi. First world problems.

I love Discount Tires (as much as you can love a place you only go when you’re having a problem with your tires)! I usually go to one of the locations on the Southwest Freeway, but today I tried this location and it was just as nice. Although it looks more run-​down or dated from the outside, once you get inside you will receive the same great customer service.
Their service technicians are always polite and friendly. I feel like they’re honest and give you a good deal.
My tire was replaced, another was patched, and they were all rotated in less than an hour. Discount Tires is definitely my go-​to tire place when (God forbid) I have tire problems or needs.

I’m glad they have friendly staff because when they say it will take 45 minutes what they really mean is over two hours…
I have always purchased tires here because of their superior warranty but waiting around all day for service in the store that is annoyingly colder than a meat locker simply pains my soul! :/
