Warning: don’t book this hotel(or maybe the whole chain)! I made a prepaid reservation for daughter here, but when she showed up there was no room. Management was no help. Total incompetence.

Room keys are a big problem. You constantly have to get them reset. I’ve stayed here several times and it’s always a problem. The staff is qurtious and does their best to work with what they have. Very basic high traffic place with an unpleasant smell. I would not bring my kids here.

Worst. Hotel. Ever. Filthy, under-staffed, falling apart. There might be more hope after they renovate, but I was grossed out and sort of appalled at their inability to provide even the most basic services. After I ditched, a colleague continued his stay and apparently the alarm went off at 3am and there was no staff on hand to address the issue. There were leaks, broken equipment, noise issues, construction… Just a total mess. Cannot recommend this hotel.

I’ve stayed here a couple of times, but mainly for one reason: it’s the only hotel within walking distance from the Mezzanine Lounge, Stag’s Head Pub, and any other business(Freebird’s, Star Pizza, etc) at the Shepherd/Greenbriar split. I’ve only stayed here to avoid drinking and driving. I should note instead of paying $ 75 for the room New Year’s Eve(advertised price on discount websites), I found a last minute deal on the hotel’s own website for $ 60(so check that section of the site before you book). The hotel itself is far from spectacular. While the front desk people are nice, the hotel smells like smoke in the hallways(though it’s a non-smoking hotel). The keys are old-fashioned — instead of being electronic, they physically have holes! The bathroom was bare in terms of amenities, and the towels have seen better days, but at least it was clean. The beds aren’t great, the air conditioning doesn’t work well, and the provided kitchenware is dismal. A wine opener was in the drawer; that’s all that matters, right?

Lemme see, only one roll of TP, the elevator sounds like it’s going to explode… don’t take your kids on it. Front desk people are not helpful and the hallways smell like crap. Oh and when the water goes out for half a day they might want to let people know about it… make ice cubes with bottled water. If your company wants to put you up there, try to get some place else.
