Full Armor Firearms

I dropped an AR-​15 off there for some gun smithing and had a horrible experience. On initial impression I was hopeful. I dropped the gun off with Matt & Daniel, described the issues in detail and was assured by Matt «Don’t worry man, we will get it right for you… I just lost a gunsmith and am busy but I will take care of it myself! I build full-​auto ARs and machine guns from billet so I don’t think your issues will be a big deal, you are in good hands :)» They took the time to talk to me and didn’t have that typical «I’m a more gun-​ish gun guy than you are so I am to good to acknowledge your presence» attitude that some do… I left feeling relieved and hopeful — I even told Matt «I don’t even care what it costs man… Just do me right» because I wanted a good experience and a good AR smith is hard to come by in Houston.
A few weeks later I called, spoke to Matt directly, and asked if they had any idea when my gun would be ready and he was honest enough (this time) to tell me they had not gotten to it yet but it was «next in line». A full week later I called, asked for Matt and he wasn’t there, but I did reach Daniel. He remembered our lengthy conversation about wanting the gun to be reliable and said «It is no longer waiting and is being worked on… I know it’s important but like you said when you dropped it off, you want it to be fixed for good and we want to make sure it is right before we call you to come get it!» — My frustration subsided and I was again hopeful. About a week later (on a Friday) I called and asked for Daniel, told him I had an invitation to go hog hunting and hoped to take my «newly functional» rifle and he told me that it was STILL not ready but he would give me a call when it was.
Another week goes by and another weekly Friday reminder in my phone to call to find the status and a different person answered (Brandon I think) and asks me «uh, what are we supposed to do to it again… I see its waiting but that’s all I know — I will have to have our gunsmith Chris call you!» — I waited and of course no call from Chris. Saturday (today) I show up at the shop and wait patiently in line and finally a person I don’t recognize asks how they can help and I ask about my gun. He tells me it’s still waiting to be looked at and I tell him I would just like to get it back. He Tells me «let me go find it» and comes back 5 minutes later and asks «what kind of gun is it again» — then goes away again. Comes back and tells me that someone is getting it and will bring it to me. A dude walks in with my gun and I shake his hand ask «are you chris» and he says «no… Chris doesn’t work here anymore… He’s been gone about over a month» — I am assume my this is the same Chris that was supposed to call me the day before: /​— Long story short… They never worked in the gun!
The sad thing is that I really wanted to like this shop. I, my wife, my father, my son, brother, and three very close friends are somewhat of firearm enthusiasts… We shoot at the range weekly and having a good shop with a range and a gunsmith would have been awesome for all of us. I was a first time customer and really don’t even even mind paying more (their prices are about 25% higher than elsewhere… About like gander mountain) but to support a group of locals I’m good with it, but sadly these guys pissed away a lot of future business… I won’t be back.

Unprofessional. I have been bringing my guns here for well over a year to have them worked on. On my most recent visit I brought my rifle in to have a minor modification done that I didn’t feel comfortable doing myself. I was told it would be ready in a weeks time. After not hearing from them after a week I called to see what the hold up is. I was told by an employee that he checked with the gunsmith and my gun was one of the next ones in line and they would call me when it’s ready. Something didn’t seem right and after another week I decided to just show up instead of calling. After speaking with the gunsmith it turns out that the stock on my gun was cracked in the process of having work done and that a new one had to be ordered from the manufacturer. I was told I would be SOL until the part came in and they couldn’t give me a timeframe as to when that would be. Nobody called me to tell me that it had been broken, nor did they apologize. I understand mistakes happen and I wouldn’t be upset if somebody had called me to simply inform me of the situation. I will only be returning here to pick up my gun when it is finally finished. Very unprofessional.

This is the place I always go to shoot, buy equipment, rent guns, or go to know more about guns.
The staff is incredible. It’s a small place but the staff is very knowledgeable and not at all mean or snobby like other gun places.
My wife and I are new to the gun game and so we have lots of questions and they are more than helpful.
They even have discounts from M-​Th depending on the days.
Eugene, Erik were very helpful. Well there were many more but sadly I can’t remember their names. The white guy who loves XD gun is very nice also and that white lady on Sunday’s.

This place is our go-​to indoor range. They’re super friendly and knowledgeable, and very eager to help.
I’ve gone many times with my husband. We have been most impressed with Eugene (big Asian guy, HK-​lover, friendliest demeanor). He patiently answered all our questions, let us see as many guns as we wanted, and gave us very accurate and candid advice about each gun and brand. Seriously, the best customer service ever.
I also decided to take a group of girls to the range for Monday Night Ladies Night. Seven of us went, with only two having ever shot a gun before. Erik and Brandon were SUPER patient and thorough in their explanations. (It was like a condensed CHL class — excellent instruction!) They even helped us pick out the guns to shoot with. Two of the ladies were extremely scared of even touching a gun, much less shooting one. After giving a general group instruction on the basics of gun safety, lingo and shooting, Erik worked with each girl individually, showing her how to load, aim, shoot, etc. after they kind of got the hang of it, Erik and Brandon would watch as they shot and then give advice and tips on how to improve.
Erik is curt at first. Not rude, just no nonsense. But he’s surprisingly coaxing if youre genuinely nervous or scared. And Brandon is just super nice and sweet.

I usually don’t write a lot of reviews, but I just want to say that this place is amazing. Tremendously friendly staff, very accommodating. The staff are so nice and friendly, would definitely come back!

Very helpful and friendly staff, I’ve been to gun shops all over the country and this one is top notch!

Lets start with the good… their showroom is excellent… they have a wide variety of firearms and awesome displays… I did not use the range as I was just looking for an accessory for my wife’s gun… thats unfortunately about all the good I experienced… I was greeted at the door, but no one seemed to care to offer any help… the employees seemed more interested in checking out their guns and racking slides… I get it… working at a gun shop would be a lot of fun and I would love to check out all the different guns, but I’m old-​fashioned and think that if there is a customer in your store, that a certain professional decorum should be expressed… anyways, after about 10 minutes of looking at different products, I asked a young guy if he had a certain item (the price was only $ 109)…he said, «oh no, we don’t carry anything like that», without even checking the computer or asking another employee if they can assist… there were literally 5 or 6 employees just hanging out… as I walked out the door, I saw exactly what I was looking for… it was in a glass case, so obviously it is a highly sought after item, or expensive enough and small enough to steal… needless to say, I walked out pretty ticked off… this is the only store in the Houston area that carries this particular brand and accessory, but I’d rather buy it online than go back to that store… its unfortunate because this store looks excellent… although their prices are considerably higher than other stores like Academy or Boyert…

Awesome place! Chris and Jeanee are very informative! Will definitely be back! I was able to shoot the glock 9 mm, Desert Eagle 45 and the Kriss Vector auto rifle!

Being relatively new to the world of guns, I did my research and found that there are a number of reputable firearms dealers in Houston.
However, what sets this place apart is their friendly straight forward attitude and customer service. I stopped in yesterday and was helped by Eugene. He spent nearly an hour with me, explaining how different parts of the gun work, trying to understand what I wanted to buy (vs what he could sell me), and answered all of the questions I had.
Two things that stand out to me —
1) they have free shooting lessons. In case you’re not super comfortable yet around guns, their very reasonable range/​rental rates come with free hands on instruction (vs some places that solely watch you via cctv or charge for this)
2) outstanding customer service, judgement free zone, all walks of life. Ask any questions you like, don’t need to know anything beforehand. And no macho commando BS, upselling, or attempt to intimidate. No commission based sales = they sell you what you need instead of what they need you to buy.
While I did not buy a gun yesterday, when I’m ready to I’ll be looking up Eugene at Full Armor Firearms.

Wide range of weapons and affordable prices. Knowledgeable staff and the owner is there often ensuring a comfortable experience for the consumer. Highly recommended gun and ammo store.

Funny, my previous review has disappeared… This place exists to take advantage of folks new to buying firearms and the firearm world. Their prices are by far the worst I’ve ever seen. Expect prices to be 50 percent ABOVE market. Please do some research so you aren’t fleeced. Having said that minor gunsmithing work and the range are fine.

James really knows his stuff & is very helpful, but the prices are ridiculous and make Collectors look like a bargain. You could save hundreds by shopping around.
They have a good selection of guns, especially NFA stuff. However the service from the apparent teenagers who work there and appear to fancy themselves operators/​commandos is terrible and you’ll be called «bro» a bunch while waiting forever to get helped or pay. If you want to throw money around, this is the place to do it, but I’d go elsewhere.

As others have said, their prices are insanely high. I am sure its due to their overhead, but I’ll stick with buying at gun shows. I bought a CAI Uzi at the GRB last weekend for $ 685…same gun I saw at Full Armor Firearms for almost $ 1000…update: they are asking $ 899 (!!!) for a CENTURION 39 SPORTER that you can get anywhere from $ 599 to $ 649 online… if you want to pay a 33% markup, then go on with yo bad self lol

Husband and I came here to find out about getting a CHL and which gun I should purchase as self protection on me at all times. Brandon was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and funny. He helped me decided which 2 purchases I will be making and I loved that they offer the CHL class at a reasonable price and EVERYDAY! I will be making all firearms related purchases and educational inqueries with Full Armor because of Brandon’s excellent customer service which I highly appreciate since I am also in the customer service industry.

This is a great place for firearm beginners, novices, familiars and experts. This place has pretty much everything you would want in a firearms dealer. They have friendly and knowledgeable staff and the owner, James, is usually right there behind the counter ready to help customers. He and his employees seem to have a great camaraderie and its a great atmosphere, the are all very welcoming and friendly and helpful. The store itself has a great selection of different varieties of arms and ammo, then they have their own range in a different area of the store, on top of that they offer beginners handgun classes, and daily CHL classes for only $ 69. The range rates are pretty good too at $ 14 an hour per person. All in all I had a great experience there and I plan on going back for all my firearm supply and training needs.

I came in on Saturday, with a friend I was visiting in the area. This was my first experience at a gun range and I had an AMAZING time. I came in with a girlfriend and we were immediately greeted by Cari and Shannon. They were both so helpful, and courteous — my friend and I were extremely pleased. We had a great time, and will DEFINITELY be back!

The staff was great and helpful. Jared was very nice and willingly to help our group of 9.

Forget everything you know about gun shops!
This place by far is the best firearm store in Texas, heck in the whole world! I found this place while in Houston and stuck in traffic, saw the sign and pulled right in. After about an hour and a half, I walked out with a new «tool» for the «toolbox». And got to squeeze a few rounds as well.
First of all super friendly, and very welcoming! Did not once make any sarcastic remarks or pass judgement over me for my questions. Explained, demonstrated and provided background info on everything from weapon modifications to simple tactics. They truly make you feel comfortable.
So now that’s out the way I was super duper impressed with this place many fire arms and accessories to chose from and hard to find items are all over the place. You could spend a lot of time just looking in here.
While shooting at the range, i was very impressed with the overall ease of use. Walk up pick ammo and targets and off you go. Staff in the range provide plenty of assistance if needed or stand back and keep out the way when you don’t. Not like other places, where «commands are only taken from the tower» (Army thing). You will walk out of this place feeling proud of living in America… For reals!

Pros — Staff was super friendly and had a nice selection of firearms/​accessories.
Cons– I did not price check everything but I was looking for a PMag for my New AR and Full Armor Firearms had them… BUT… they were 3.5x what I paid for it online.
I like to support local businesses but its hard to when you feel like your getting robbed.

Friendly, helpful, & very knowledgeable staff that you can tell love what they do.
My first time shooting and these guys were patient and helped me load and safely shoot and handle the Springfield .40 cal. Nice range and reasonable prices. Next time I might even try an M4. James and his staff are cool and super nice to work with.
