I’ve had hibachi all over Houston and this place is hands down the Best! This has been our go to family date night spot for years and I can honestly say we’ve never had a bad meal. I have a 2&5 year old and it’s difficult to take them to other hibachi restaurants because they literally sit you on top of each other, but the atmosphere is very family friendly here and we’ve never had an issue. It’s in Greenspoint so the area is kind of sketchy, but they’ve made an effort to block off the parking lot for customers only. Still be aware of your surroundings here. Overall one of my favorite restaurants in Houston!

Decent place for sushi. We were traveling from Houston to Dallas, and got hungry about 1 mile into the trip, so I got on my Unilocal app and found this place a few minutes away. Service was good, the sushi was good, we really enjoyed the lunch specials. They could really use to clean the place up a bit, there was trash and receipts in the entryway, and the bathrooms were pretty bad. This is kinda funny, and not important really, but the music was really something else, pop songs covered in a elevator music type way, and a little too loud to ignore! Anyway, stop by your looking for good sushi in a casual setting.

We are at Ichibon for the first time tonight. We consider ourselves connoisseur of Sashimi. Their freshness, service and presentation were outstanding. We sat at the Sushi Bar and had Sake with our food. Everything, including the price, was outstanding.

Terrible service. Gave us a dirty glass. Server barely came to check on us. Food was not the best but the happy hour is definitely cheap.

Not the greatest or freshest sushi but I still come here very often for happy hour. Sushi is mediocre but cheap so I don’t mind for a quick sushi fix without having to drive 40+ mins. Happy Hour ends at 7 pm but they are very nice about letting whoever arrives first order tons of food for the rest of the party. Waitress was even nice enough to add more beers to the tab happy hour price right before it ended and brought it out one by one as we finished so it could stay cold. Dont forget the spicy ponzu sauce with your meal. Only place that knows how to make it right! I use to love eating it with Yaki Udon but they got rid of that dish. Why??? Oh and they probably have one of the best fried ice creams too.

The food is good. Especially the hibachi side. I love it! The sushi is so so. It doesn’t taste«fresh» enough to me and in terms of basics they don’t really have good sushi rice. Reasonable prices for the hibachi side and the chef will interact and make jokes with you. I give this place 3 stars because the service isn’t all that great. The chefs provide the best of the service for the night. Twice there was nobody in the front to greet us and we would seat ourselves just to get up and flag someone down to get a menu. They give you your drinks and once you’ve ordered will not check up on you. Best to order two drinks cause when you’re looking around for a server to refill your drink you won’t be able to find anyone!

I have tried for many years now,(more than I like to admit) To find fresher better tasting sushi. I always find myself here. Over and over. Suggest pepper tuna with spicy ponzu sauce. Yet to be beat in my book!

I wish so badly I could give this place more stars simply because every time I have come here the food is excellent, sushi and hibachi both. However, the service could be so much better. Do not come here if you are in a hurry or have a timed lunch hour because you will go over time. Also, if you are not there when they open or shortly after, you will have to wait at least 30 minutes because the place fills up QUICK. The last time I went here, I was in a group waiting for one of the hibachi grills. It was around 12:15. There were 3 empty grills, but we were told the grills didn’t work. Finally after waiting 20 minutes, with no hope of the working grills opening up, we asked if we could sit at one of open ones while the others finish up. Come to find out the grill we sat at was in full working order. We brushed it off because we were hungry and ready to order. We place our orders, then 10 minutes later another group gets seated at another grill in front of us. We get our salads, as do they, and by now we have been sitting for 30 minutes, and we see the chef come to what we think is our table. Wrong, he went to the table seated after us. We demanded that a chef be sent to us or we were going to leave. The chef quickly showed up and the food was good as always, but this incident left kind of a bad taste and we haven’t been back since. I’d say if you’re willing to gamble your time, give it a shot. Otherwise, head to Uncle Tong’s next door. It may not be hibachi, but the staff in there knows what great service is.

I brought my mother here for her birthday one day during the week. It was close to opening time so it wasn’t very packed and we beat the lunch rush. She’s never been to a hibachi grill before but I already know the you’re paying for the presentation not the taste/flavor of the food. For our meal, she ordered the chicken and I had the shrimp and fish of the day(red snapper). They also start you out with rice(steamed or fried), salad with ginger dressing and soup. I’ve been here several times and always enjoy myself and she did as well. I love the soup but the ginger, not so much. She asked for Italian dressing but all they carry is ginger. He did all the tricks that they’re taught and made her feel special on her birthday.

The best sushi spot in gunspoint. Well let me rephrase that. The only sushi spot in gunspoint. The outside is nothing special. The inside is nice, the regular dining area is on the left, with hibachi tables on the right. They have a very good happy hour on sushi and saki.

I took a consultant to lunch here the other week and wasn’t exactly impressed or disappointed. The place was a bit cramp on the side where the regular dining occurs and it was so dark inside. I got the miso soup, which burnt my tongue. I didn’t realize how hot they served it and it seemed as though the mushrooms and other things they added in the soup needed to be cooked a little longer. The sushi was decent; I got the California roll and Shaggy Dog. Nothing much more to say about either dishes but that they were ok. My consultant is vegetarian, so he ordered fried rice with extra vegetables. I was charged for the extra vegetables but to be quite honest, it didn’t look like there was extra added on. It looked like a regular serving at any other restaurant.

I came here for teppanyaki(teppanyaki is cooking on a flat grill while hibachi refers to cooking over a flame) meal with a couple of friends. The chef was polite and kept the others entertained, but after eating at these types of restaurants for so many times the volcano and choo choo train failed to keep my attention for long. Nevertheless, I came here for the food. The prices were more reasonable then other teppanyaki places, but I felt that my filet was not as tender as I expected. The chef did cook my steak to the proper temperature with my requested seasoning of garlic butter and light soy sauce so that was a plus. Everyone else in my party enjoyed their meal. I leave this place satisfied, but not overwhelmed by the experience.

We go here for lunch sometimes. The food is ok. The staff is friendly sometimes — depends on who you run into when you’re there. Parking is challenging because there are other restaurants in the same plaza.

First of all, the service was terrible. I was gonna leave after I sat down… I should’ve! The food… was not Japanese. They serving that kind of food as Japanese… I almost cry.(I am from Japan) I normally order soda or iced tea coz the water taste is bad in Houston. So I ordered coke as usual but the ice was terrible bad water taste like sewer. Yuck! Anyway if the servers were nice, it covers the worst food but everything was worst. I didn’t wanna give them tip but I did as usual.

Great servers, nice food and their place was cool You can eat a bunch fresh sushi here because almost all of their sushi’s just cost $ 1.75 or lower. Great right? They also serve great tasting sake which is the same cost as the great sushi’s. In terms of food and service? I would recommend this one.

Good for a quick sushi fix. Not the best quality but for the price and location, it satisfies the appetite.

Eh. I should just end it there. We come here because of distance and craving fulfillment. Went once during lunch and it wasn’t a great experience from bad tasting dumplings to a view of dirty floors/walls. Food– chicken teriyaki not recommended at all. Spicy octopus, crab puffs, edamame were good. Sushi– jalapeño roll is my favorite. Bento box is pretty large and you can try different things. Steak was… mediocre. Service at the bar is pretty good. ASKFORHAPPYHOURMENU! The server will never give it to you off the back nor mention it… rude. Plenty of parking based on location being a shopping center.

Usually alway packed because this is one of the few good places to eat in the greens point area. If you work in this area like me you know the food is limited. I always get the bento plate. Chicken with fried rice, fried veggies and fruit. Great bang for your buck. Very good fresh food. Comes with soup and salad. No complaints

Decent. Especially when nothing is around. I am a high maintenance sushi person and usually don’t even go to mediocre places because it is all or nothing with sushi. There is no middle ground. This place has an OK Bento box and OK salmon. I heard the hibachi was bland but I haven’t tried it myself. Nothing special but it’s the only thing around greenspoint.
