Now i should probably not be eating here but it’s football season and sometimes i crave a corn dog or a hot dog and they do it right. The staff are very nice always and they seem to like being there. They have a great menu with one hotdog with bbq pulled pork. You should try that one if you feeling weak to stop by jci.

it’s not your average burger joint. the food is well made, the customer service kind, and the restaurant clean. The service was a little on the slow side though, despite this, it’s an okay alternative to What-A-Burger.

Today I came through the drive through I ordered the elotes…2 chili cheese Coneys and some ice cream. The attendant at the window seemed nice enough Gabriela but she handed me my bag with two chili cheese Coneys with no mustard or onions on them what is advertised on the menu as having mustard and onions so I don’t understand why it wouldn’t be on there and I know that’s not Gabriella’s fault. The elotes aka Street corn was advertised with cilantro on top there was no cilantro on top. When I got to the window I was informed that there was no ice cream well if you start the machine and hour before you open then you will have what you need. every restaurant has attendants there an hour before they open. how do I know this you say? because I managed A restaurant. The chili cheese dogs are not as good if the chili is in port over the onions and the mustard onions and mustard or just cold. So I give you guys 1 start today in hopes that maybe you will improve and get it together. You need to respect people’s money. Over half of the people living in the United States do not make $ 10 an hour. And I just spent $ 10 at your restaurant.

I have always loved JCI. There is something about the childhood memories mixed with the excitement of biting into that steamed bun. I have really been disappointed that some of their locations skip out on steaming the buns; It is extremely apparent and it makes the dogs go from amazing to blah. This store in Meyerland Plaza never disappoints me, they have great food every time.

Super good food great service literally have nothing to complain about. I got the James cheeseburger with a side of chilli cheese tater tots. Plus the place is really clean you can tell the employees work hard to keep trash out of the tables and floor.

I have absolutely no complaints about this place. My daughter enjoys their kids meals. The staff is always pleasant when we visit. You must try their turkey burger & their hot grilled chicken sub sandwich. Both are a delicious treat.

They updated the interior and menu. They now serve salads! We went here for my daughters school spirit night and it was packed. The food was good. I had the half order is the southwest salad with grilled chicken, my oldest had the chicken tenders and my little one had the hamburger. Everything was good! They got a free dessert and the manager made sure to check on everyone and everyone’s order. We will be back!

The manager Patricia was incredibly rude to my courier who stopped by to pickup an order on my behalf. They apparently do not speak or understand good customer service at this location. I tried to place the order by phone and got hung up on 5 times during this effort. Patricia tried to involve a police officer who happened to stop in because she apparently could not believe that a customer would call in an order and have a courier pick same. Outrageous.

James Coney Island has really revamped their menu over the years(adding stuff like Asian Sliders and… salads?!) but I came here on a «red hot» summer day for 91-cent Original Coneys(every 3rd Thursday of the month, through September). So that’s what I got, along with a Chicago Dog, because I love those. I’m going to be «frank» with you. I’d be lying if I said these didn’t taste alright, but their ingredients are really questionable. Besides the fact that nobody really knows what’s exactly in a hot dog, their Original Coney comes with«Chili Sauce», not«Chili». Apparently, it’s a runny, less meaty, probably cheaper version of chili. And, not a fan of the radioactive green relish on Chicago Dogs. Why?! What’s wrong with normal relish? This stuff looks like if I eat too much of it, it’ll mess with my «weiner». Oops, I probably didn’t need to put quotes on that one.

This review is ONLY for the Cranberry Pecan Grilled Chicken Salad. The chicken was cooked to perfection — juicy and tender and the salad was just as good as any salad I’d get at the latest popular but overpriced Galleria restaurant. Bonus, the salad is under $ 10.

Solid food! Kids eat free on Wed. Nights! Greek salad? Who knew? Staff was super Friendly and polite which is rare at fast food joints now days! Burger is not becks prime but it is also not $ 12 either. Keep it up JCI!

Stick to the original for me. I come to Houston once a year if I’m lucky, and I love to order 6 Coney’s. They are small, what can I say? Been getting that fix once a year since I can remember!

They have other items on the menu, such as an Asian Sandwich(huh?) and a tamale plate(what?). Kind of like playing«some of these things don’t belong.‘ My advice is to go for the hotdogs. Coney dog was good. Chicago dog was delicious. And a chocolate dipped ice cream cone for $ 1? Say what?! Sign me up! My husband and I are gonna make this a regular.

James Coney Island was a childhood favorite of mine. Like most other adulthood experiences with childhood favorites, I’m left thinking that my childhood self had really misguided taste. Don’t get me wrong, I still love hot dogs and other mystery meats, just not James Coney Island hot dogs. I’ve had better hot dogs from grocery stores… yikes. I had high hopes for the«chef» special dogs that were being advertised to celebrate JCI’s anniversary… it put us back over 6 bucks and tasted… not all that wonderful. I ordered a normal chili/cheese foot long and ate maybe half before hating myself and promising my arteries that I would exercise later that day and eat salads to keep them happy. Sorry, James Coney… I tried.

JCI has gussied up its menu in the last couple of years. Yes, you can still get a cheap coney(and once a month they cost as many cents as the chain has been in business) but they’ve added burgers and French Dip sandwiches to the menu and«gourmet hotdogs» with Hebrew National franks and Slow Dough buns This summer, they added my current fave, the Chef’s Show Dogs. Once a month a new dog goes on the menu that’s been created by a local chef. So far, there’s been a hot dog from Haven, Kata Robata, and Eatsie Boys. Since they’ve upgraded the menu, I usually end up with either a Gourmet hot dog(I miss the green chile dog they used to do, but there are a lot of options to build your own) or one of the Show Dogs. That means I’m spending more in JCI than I used to, but the food is worth the money. I can’t get that excited about the watery chili they serve or the old school coneys, but the upgraded food makes for a good lunch. Service at this location is what earns them 5 stars. When they screw up, they apologize and make it right, but they don’t screw up often, and you won’t get through lunch without someone coming by your table and offering to refill your drink. They routinely go beyond what you expect from service at a fast food joint.

Well it’s not Wienerschnitzel but it’s the next best thing when you are craving a salty, chili and cheese covered hotdog. Not much to say about JCI, it’s a fast food place so nothing really different from any other place there. I’ve only had the chili cheese dogs. The chili is ok(good enough to top hotdogs but I wouldn’t eat it out of a bowl) and they top it with Cheese Wiz.(pickle and onions if you ask for the works) I have noticed it’s very clean inside and the employee’s are very nice and attentive, coming to your table asking if you need anything and cleaning up after you. Like a said a good place when you have that processed food craving!

While I was eating my corn dog and chili cheese fries, I had planned on visiting and giving major props, as the customer service was SUPERB!!! The cashier was more than happy, she was peppy, she was joyful, she acted like she just loved her job. There was a younger guy walking around cleaning every table over and over and he asked every person eating, if they needed anything, refilled drinks, handed out napkins and silverware. The 20 minutes we were there he asked us at least 3 times if we were okay or needed anything. However! I have 2 small complaints. First off WOW is this place expensive! We ordered chicken strips kids meal, two corn dogs and chili cheese fries for me and 2 corn dogs and chili cheese tots for the hubby and OMG it was over $ 21!!! Second, after leaving, my daughter asked for ice cream so we went through the drive through to order a ‘frostbite’(i think thats what it was called: p). We ordered and oreo one and after having a loud, long, crying laugh(because she asked«do you want chili and cheese on that!!!) we got the ice cream and… well…there were oreos on top but thats it!!! It was just plain ice cream underneath! When you order ice cream with ‘mixins’, isnt it supposed to be MIXEDIN??? (See picture above)
