My first visit at The Del was very pleasant except a bunch of obnoxious small kids making all kinds of noise just like other reviewers mentioned. I had Bloody Mary, mac & cheese and mussels & fries. Mac & cheese with short rib was one of the best ones I’d had. The bread that they serve as as excellent and the guy at the restaurant told me that it’s NOT by Slow Dough although they used to serve their bread.

Tonight was my first visit to this super cute neighborhood gem and everything was fabulous! I had the pear salad with grilled salmon after enjoying the crab cake as an appetizer… delicious! Great service, great background music, lovely interior, pristine restrooms. What more could I ask for? Thanks for a wonderful evening

Came for the first time yesterday(02÷03÷15) very nice place to come and have a drink and socialize with friends or coworkers. As told by staff, they’ve only been open for 5 months, so still very new. They have complimentary valet which is great, just remember to tip! The staff are very nice and welcoming. They have very good drinks, the mojito was strong but delicious! I tried the mac & cheese which is an appetizer and couldn’t even finish it! They have a very nice dining area as well as patio. Definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back!

It’s my new favorite! Everything they do is absolutely wonderful! The lamb chops are succulent. Porkchops are terrific. Steak is wonderful. I love their brats. It is such a nice neighborhood atmosphere. I have found my new hang out.

The Del is in my neighborhood, I pass it all the time thinking I should try. Yesterday after church, we stopped in for brunch. Myself, not being too hungry got the cheese board and my boyfriend, migas. The food was great, the mimosas were perfect($ 5) and the service was impeccable. I really liked the laidback, clean lines atmosphere. Not too much, just right ambiance. Give it a try!

I don’t often take restaurant recommendations from my 12 year old daughters and their friends… but tonight… fresh off a big victory in a basketball tournament I said I would take them… and two of their friends… to the restaurant of their choice. To my surprise, they wanted to go to The Del. they said many of their friends had gone and really enjoyed it. I had never been so I kept my promise and we went to dinner about 7PM on a Saturday night. They were busy but the service and staff were wonderful, the food was exceptional and the décor was very done. Loved it and would highly recommend it! I had the grilled pear salad and it was amazing!

After a not so great first experience at the Del, we were graciously invited back and the return visit did not disappoint! Great patio seating and pleasant interior. Perfect for casual, but tasty and interesting dining. For lunch we had sandwiches(meatball sub and fried green tomato club) which were very generously portioned and well executed. Glad we tried it again!

Great ambiance, friendly, casual but cool. Upscale but relaxed. Nice menu, all fresh stuff. Marinara sauce could use more pep but being fresh was good. Filet is excellent as is the salmon. Bartenders make excellent cocktails and martinis. Just right. Upscale bar stock. Good crowd. Lots of families early but more adult after 7 and good good talent.

This place is pretty good. Very attentive service. Food is great. Had the chicken curry but i like more curry and it wasn’t as curried as i thought. Gnocchi tots are so delicious. This place good ambiance. Very kid friendly. But might be good date night. Overall great… the food good. Ambience good… drinks good. Service good… when kids aren’t running around like its a jungle gym. But yes good. Recommend for sure.

We had a party of 16 and everyone had a wonderful meal. Many of us had the fried green tomato BLT and it was delicious! The fries were perfect and seasoned well. Not sure what kind of bacon was on it but i could have ordered a side of that as well. My husband had the pork chop and the Brussel sprouts were like candy and I am not a fan of Brussel sprouts. There was a vegetable hash that was so delicious with the sauce that tied in all the flavors together. We tasted the crab cakes, grilled pear salad(which I don’t see on the menu? But it was so yummy with goat cheese), queso and potato gnocchi. I would order everything again. Cocktails were delicious and we had chocolate cake and crème brûlée for dessert. Brûlée was yummy and perfectly caramelized — I hate when it is too burned. Cake was rich rich rich! Many of these things were split between our table so we were able to taste many things. Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood. We live in Austin but will most definitely return when we visit.

Went for happy hour will return soon for dinner. Both drinks and food menu are smart classics some with a twist. Attentive service and clean classy atmosphere are spot on. I had the Tim’s Cup which was a nice twist on a classic Pimms cup and the gnocchi tots and chips and queso from the happy hour food menu were spot on. Looking forward to ordering off the regular menu and I congratulate the proprietors on injecting some classic/solid and much needed classy local fare into the memorial/tanglewood area.

Excellent food and service. Crab risotto was a triumph of creativity, imagination, and execution. The wait is well worth it for this difficult to execute dish. Likewise, the bolognese and lamb chops(app) were very tasty and truly unique in the crowded Houston market. When the lamb came out slightly overlooked, the GM overheard us mention it to each other and immediately corrected the minor oversight. We will come back and we will recommend.

I will start with WOW. So let me back into that. As always I like to start from the parking lot. I arrived about 12(noon) for lunch, parking was not good at all. I parked down the street. It was a beautiful day so walking was not problem; however, if you are looking to park close good luck. Upon entry I was greeted with a warm welcome and seated quickly. The restaurant is not very large and does have an outdoor section but it was too chilly for that. I was seated not far from the door. As I waited for my guest I could not help but notice out of the 25 or so patrons that were there at that time, only three were men including myself. As I sat longer and my guest arrived we noticed the restaurant did get very full however, 98% women! Eye candy well, ummmmm, it depends what you like. So overall the service was good. It did take a long time to get our food. I had the fish and chips. The fish was drum and was very good. My guest he had a spring salad with chicken and a side of mashed potatoes. He indicated they were very good. The beverages at the table were never empty(water and lemonade). Overall pleasant visit but personally I will not visit again not because of the service or food, just not my environment. However, if you are into upper middle age women this is your spot! I do recommend a visit! I forgot to add the meal with tip came to $ 50 so if you are looking to be cheap not your place. However, most of the meals are reasonably priced. I think because we had a side dish drove up the price a bit.

The Del is in my neighborhood and I have been there many, many times since they opened. I think the food is very good, the cocktails are amazing(that Del Old Fashioned, wow!), and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend almost everything on the menu, but some of my favorites are the ribeye, pretzel cheeseburger, and the gnocchi tots. There is a really neat area outside with a lounge area, big TVs, and bar games such as corn hole and giant Jenga. Unfortunately, almost every time I’ve been there, there are herds of kids taking over that area and more or less tearing it apart. I understand that it’s a neighborhood restaurant and parents want to let their kids run around, but if we’re paying $ 14 for a cocktail(which I’m fine with because they’re totally worth it), then I don’t want screaming kids running around when I’m trying to enjoy the patio or lounge area; it’s ultimately an upscale restaurant. It also makes the lounge/game area much less attractive for the adults to use and enjoy, who I’m pretty sure it’s meant for in the first place. I hope that management addresses this issue and is the only reason for my 4⁄5 rating instead of 5⁄5. Overall, I do really like the place and think The Del has a good thing going. They’re still very new and I hope they will continue to improve.

I was excited to try The Del and was not disappointed. We made reservations as we went on a Friday night and I definitely recommend doing so. The neighborhood restaurant feel was great. It is a little small inside, but not cramped. They have a great looking patio that I will definitely go back for. They have a nice wine selection and the menu is killer. We started with the tuna tar tar which was served on a crisp wonton. Nice quality tuna and a little different as it was served with cucumber and cherry tomato. I’ve had better, but definitely very tasty. We also tried the gnocchi bites, which were of course delicious as they are severed with a cheese and ale fondu. I had their crab and broccolini risotto for my main course and definitely feel like I got the best meal at the table. It was basically a warm, cozy hug on a plate. The broccolini didn’t overwhelm the dish and there was a ton of lump crab. I would order this again in a heart beat. May have been a little tight for a traditional risotto, but I loved it all the same. Finished with the Crème Brûlée which was divine. Perfectly flambéd and the custard was perfect. Service was fine, nothing special. Highly recommend and plan to go back!

Cocktails are killer. And they can craft anything you desire. Gnocchi Tots are the best! Can’t get enough of them. Braised Short Rib Bolognese is out of this world!

We are here with another couple. The atmosphere was good am loved the patio! The service was very friendly and helpful. We had mixed feelings on the food. The Red Pepper Bisque, pork chop(small for the price) and crab cakes were all very good. Salad was fresh and tasty. The FGTB Club was just ok but has all kinds of potential. The Short Rib Bolonese was not good. It was not really Bolonese. Just a little meat in the middle of pasta, no sauce of any kind. Overall the experience was good but as with most newer restaurants needs some fine tuning.

Went here for dinner this evening and while nothing was bad, it’s not somewhere that I would look to add to my regular rotation. Below are what I saw to be the positives and negatives of my experience: Positives: 1. The fries were delicious that came with the burger and the bite of the burger that I did have seemed tasty. 2. The crab risotto actually had recognizable pieces of crab in it and it was quality meat. 3. The open kitchen contributed positively towards the overall ambience. 4. Decent on-site parking. Negatives 1. This place seems to being having a bit of an identity crisis between a sports bar and an nicer dining establishment. I know their theme is «fine causal», but I don’t want to be distracted by 3 TVs with ESPN in the restoration hardware themed dining room when eating a $ 38 steak and drinking a $ 13 cocktail. This was even mentioned by the couple sitting at the table next to us which we found interesting. 2. If you’re going to do more«casual», then don’t limit you happy hour to just those sitting at the small bar, especially when the bar is situated in the middle of the main dining room. I would understand this if the bar and dining room were separate, but felt like this was kind of a cheap move, especially for a newly opened restaurant. 3. Prices seemed too high for what was being offered. Any decent looking steak or seafood item started at $ 30 and drinks started at $ 12(no price on beer list, which was irksome as well). A few restaurants can pull off this casual/higher price food split(think Uchi), but can’t say it worked as intended here. There were some lower priced items on the menu, but I wouldn’t say anything jumped out as a good value(though maybe I would think differently if I tried them all). 4. While the fries were good that came with the burger, the burger itself was pretty small. Fine if you’re a lighter eater, but not going to fulfill one with a large appetite. Additionally the risotto was a bit too salty and lacked significant broccolini, making it overwhelming heavy and one-dimensional. Got tired of eating it after a few bites and just went back towards my date’s fries.

The food was fresh and delicious. We had the gnocchi tots — yummy! Cocktails were spot on. Ordered: Side salad as starter — great fresh, light. Husband ordered: red pepper bisque — yummy decadent. Mains– split pork chop with Brussels and winter veg hash. Yummy! Cooked perfectly. Dessert– salted caramel brownie — yummy. Not amazing but solid. Carrot cake was bland. Wouldn’t order again. Service was great and friendly.
