I ate here for lunch one day! Sub par service. Honestly, they were rude. Now, let’s talk about food. I’m hesitant to review this place because my experience has been bad. If anybody who has eaten a doner kabab in Istanbul or any gyro in one of the ethnic joints in Houston, even shwarma at Cedars or somewhere around town, comparatively this place is bad. Food is processed. Meat is a meat byproduct and it might have been just that one day but I was treated bad and I’m a paying customer.

Absolutely love this restaurant. Such a neat twist on a pita pocket. The meat is fresh and so are the veggies. It’s awesome to get such a good meal that’s relatively healthy for only $ 8!

Try the chicken, it is really juicy and tender. I really like the assortment of sauces they offer. I go with the garlic, spicy and vinaigrette and the mix of the three is awesome. The fries are good as well I just wish they were seasoned but other than that it’s a great option for under $ 10

Its funny how cool music and a trendy environment can make people think the food is good. This place basically has good reviews from people that review how they feel while they eat… I think this fast food place sucks. You are not missing anything here the salad options are corn and lettuce wowowow I would truly be happier at McDonald’s. I cannot believe I just said that but it’s true.

I don’t review this place enough but it’s one of my go-to lunch spot. This time, I tried The Texan w/spicy hot dressing. I wish they gave more of the spring mix for the salad. I tried it with the beef/lamb mix & of course it was amazing! Wish the salad/sandwich artist changed gloves before handling the salad box. It would’ve cut down on the unnecessary dirtiness of the salad box(see pic). And of course they messed my order up. Requested a salad & got the meat in a vertskebab. I had them remove the meat from the bread & add to salad box. This has happened twice @ two did locations! Be sure to explicitly state you want SALAD at the least 3 times. The Verts bread must be a huge seller considering they’re eager to put your salad on it.

Alright. I reviewed this place when it first opened and I got free food and everything was fresh and hot. But now I realize this place is pretty awful especially when business is slow. The veggies are still pretty fresh and crisp but that’s the only thing good about it. The bread is not toasty, and is in fact chewy now. The meats were always pretty dry, but now are also cold and flavorless because the turnover is so low(never anyone in there when I go). I wouldn’t opt for the wrap vs the bread either — the tortilla they use is really thin and dry and it falls apart easily.

I love doner kebabs and Vertskap makes some delicious doner sandwiches. When they first opened these in Houston I was super excited. I’ve been to this location a few times and every time the food and service is wonderful. My go to item is the original doner with beef and lamb. I top that off with the Verts Original. The food is always super filling and oh so delicious. I know previous reviewers were upset about being charged extra for other times(feta for example) but Verts does not do that anymore.

Well last time I wasn’t impressed by either food or the service but knew I would be going back because I am lazy and there must be days when I don’t feel like cooking. So I did. This time both the food and service improved. Somehow I decided since it was a warm sandwich I felt like eating it while it was warm in the store. My husband humored me and we ate there. I got the tortilla instead of the kebab. I had to say I really don’t like flour tortilla. It’s just wrong for me. The tortilla wasn’t good but it held the sandwich together which made the whole thing more manageable(I don’t really like messy eating). My husband also got a side of sweet potato fries which were pretty good. Overall it deserved a star more than last visit and I have considered this place my lazy night fast food place. If they can find a way to separate the lamb and beef I will try the beef. Just not a lamb person.

I’m so happy it had a chance to finally figure out what this place is all about. It is a walk up and pick what you want from a visual display of items to make your sandwich which appears to be made from pita bread turned into a bun. I ordered the chicken with grilled veggies. I added just about all the fixings which reminded me a bit Chipotle and added their house sauce which is made from garlic and yogurt. I will say that I was only able to eat half. I decided to take the rest home, but it doesn’t make good for leftovers. I tried to eat it for lunch, but it was too soggy and didn’t taste well. I will order the small one on my return visit. I like the concept. The establishment was clean with plenty of seating booth indoors and outdoors. Parking is a bit tight, but there were enough spots. The staff working on this night were really nice.

We came back here for lunch one day considering it’s close by, and it was empty. Possibly a sign that the food was no longer as great as when we got it opening day. After ordering the Kebaps to go and taking a bite, it was a terrible let down. The veggies were no where near as fresh, and the meat was chewy. The meat was always chewy the first time, but the veggies were what made up for it. With the lack of freshness from the veggies, I wouldn’t give this place another go.

Is it as good as what you’ll get in Germany, I’ll say 90% of the way yes. Meat is first rate, toppings are ample and fresh, prices are excellent. Falafel is excellent, pairs nicely with their spicy sauce and it’s cooked to order so it will be hot and fresh unlike some places that just reheat them. Kebab bread is perfect, same as you’ll get across the Atlantic, meat’s darn close but not as greasy and garlicy as the original, onion mix is awesome and authentic, as are the diced bell peppers, what really lost me though was the garlic sauce, it’s merely average which is a dire shame. They need to pop over to schwarma king or busy boy deli and try theirs and then go back to the drawing board and rethink that sauce as there is only a scant amount of garlic which is a major let down, but overall it’s a very good kebab. They also don’t offer any sort of curry sauce, which again is commonplace inst Deutschland. I’ll definitely be back, person working the counter was a real gentleman, and was very generous with topping, while being efficient and friendly — top marks, even stopped by my table to see how it compares. All in all a nice alternative to the blasé fast food out there, and likely well healthier too. Highly recommended.

Yum! Great place to stop for a quick(and guilt-free) meal! It’s kind of like Chipotle in terms of ordering: Choose a sandwich, wrap or salad. Choose meat or falafel, veggies, sauces or pick one of their selections. Can add side of fries, with sweet potato option! They have a variety of drinks, iced teas, milk, coffee etc. I got the Original Verts with corn and my only complaint was too much red cabbage! Otherwise the bread was delicious and toasted and the sauces add great flavor to the tender meat. Service was friendly and fast! Would go back!

I like this place because it’s a really nice option for«fast food» besides Chipotle and sandwiches in the Washington Memorial area. It’s set up Subway/Chipotle style where you tell them what you want in your kebap/wrap/salad. I ordered a kebap with chicken, a bunch of veggies, and the spicy red sauce(which is a bit spicy but not too much). There are also a few kebap choices on the menu for those that are indecisive. They ran out of falafel when we came, we came a bit late(~8pm) so be sure to come early if you want falafel! We ordered fries instead, which wasn’t too bad, but my boyfriend noted that it was stored frozen if that matters to anyone. Also I noticed they serve beer and I believe it’s half off on Tuesdays. Overall, food was good, service was fine, I would definitely come back especially since I live within walking distance. Pros: — Price/value — Free wifi Cons: — Ran out of falafel

I went to VertsKebap on a Thursday evening with my girlfriend. We have driven by a few of these locations around Houston, so we were curious to see what this place had to offer. You can either order a kebap on bread, a wrap in a tortilla, or a salad on lettuce, adding your meats, sauces, and vegetables afterwards. This can be compared to like a Chipotle as far as value goes, but with Mediterranean sandwiches/wraps instead of burritos. I ordered a chicken kebap with vegetables and the spicy red sauce. It was a lot of food for under $ 10, and I can definitely see myself coming back consistently for a quick meal. I wanted to try their falafel on the side, but they were out of them. Looking forward to trying them out next time. Another thing I noticed is that they offer craft beers, and they sell them at half-price from 5 – 10 p.m. on Tuesdays! What to order: –Chicken kebap w/vegetables Pros: –Lots of parking, private lot –Value(under $ 10 for a lot of food) –Clean(must be a new location) –Free Wi-Fi Cons: –None

The best analogy I can give you is that this is the Chipotle of kebab/schwarma spots. Similar to Chipotle, you choose your meat, topping, sauce, etc. I went with the beef/lamb kebab with feta cheese and the house yogurt/parsley sauce. Along with some fries and a sweet tea. Unlike most kebabs I’m used to the kebab came in more of a pita than the tortilla-like one you find everywhere else. That’s what brought my rating down. The fries were good, the meat was delicious, feta is feta, the sauce was good, but the bread wasn’t great. They also have a tortilla option so I’ll try that out next time. The dude who helped us out was great. He was friendly, explained the menu well, and had a positive attitude. The Hispanic guy with the goatee deserves a raise! Great customer service.

This place falls into the«s’okay, but not a must return» category. You get the real feel of being nickel-and-dimed, but the good news is that they don’t charge for goat cheese anymore! They try to upsell you stuff though. I had a snack size falafel in their fancy pants wrap, and I can appreciate that they fried the falafel fresh before smooshing it into my kebap. The free condiments section was kinda plain Customer service was genuinely nice Everyone wants their own electric meat shaver Umm, I’m just not sure the price tag fits the product here. If you really think about it, a snack size falafel costs you $ 5. Add fries and a drink, and you just spent $ 10. I probably wouldn’t come back considering what else I could do with $ 10: 1. Get 1GB of data 2. Get schwasted at Monday $ 1 Bud Light night at the strip club 3. A 6oz sirloin, big salad, baked potato, and AYCE rolls at Texas Roadhouse 4. Eat at DiMassi’s To me, VertsKebap is just a little too bougie without having very bougie offerings.

I’m sticking with my earlier rating. It was Saturday around 1pm, and pretty dead, but staff was attentive and friendly. Will be back for a quick bite again!

Think subway but not sandwiches. They assemble in front of you & you choose as you go. Counter service, but they brought us our fries when they were done, but they basically came as we were just sitting down from getting our soft drinks. We came Saturday night around 6:15, there was one other couple finishing their meals. I told them this was our first time so they explained the different choices. I had a chicken kebap(chicken shawarma in a bread pocket, similar to a pita pocket but not pita) with spring mix, red onions, feta, and garlic sauce. My husband got the beef/lamb kebap with spring mix, feta, and vinaigrette. We split a large fry, and I got the garlic sauce & spicy red sauce to dip my fries in. Everything was amazing & we were very impressed. We can’t find shawarma in this area. The spicy red sauce was spicy, but perfect for fry dipping. The fries were skinny & crispy. The sweet tea was very good too– I love it when places have sweet tea so feel it’s worth mentioning! Our total was around $ 26. Will definitely return & try more things. They have grilled mushrooms & onions I want to try next time, and falafel. And craft beers.

I really have no idea why this place has such high ratings after over 100 reviews. I went here just to try something new and was severely disappointed. When I first walked in I thought I had stepped on something since I heard a weird nose. After my second step I realized it was my shoes sticking to the floor. I thought it would stop as I got further into the room, but I was wrong… it got worse. The odd smell got stronger as well. I deduced that they had used dirty water to mop the floor way more than one time. They had a very limited menu, which I normally like so I got briefly happy. I decided on a regular Kebap(basically a gyro on panini type of bread) and a snack felafel. I didn’t notice the gyro roasters weren’t turned on till I was watching the server build my sandwich and grab the meat out of a bin on the table. They have a couple ingredients you can choose to top your meat. I chose the red hot for my kepab and original for the felafel. As I waited for my sandwich and held my nose while hearing my feet stick and unstick to the floor, I looked around and saw the tables were dirty as well. So when the asked if it was for here or to go i quickly said«to go please!» After I received my ridiculously overpriced food I went home and took my first bite. There are no words to describe how upset I was. Maybe if I had never had a decent gyro and this was all I knew I might have thought it was OK, but this was absolutely gross. The meat was chewy and pretty much tasteless. I saw the reason the server put a whole handful of jalapenos on my kepab. I guess the roasters were for show because this meat tasted like it was just frozen premade stuff. I will not be returning here EVER!!! and i encourage all people to take the short trip down to The Phoenician or Niko Nikos and get something real and not this GARBAGE!!! The only thing that allows this to get even one star was that the servers were very nice and friendly. I just hope they weren’t the one cleaning.
