I don’t even know where to begin. We were at daimon for an hour and forty five minutes, and not by choice. I have never waited that long for sushi in my life. There was a total of 12 people at the sushi bar with one person making sushi and one waiter. It took at 30 minutes for us to receive our first roll and I had to ask our waiter for waters 3 times and for our shots twice. I ordered a Sapporo and they must have poured it from the tap 20 minutes prior, because it was almost room temperature. It was probably worse than drinking and warm bud light and having to pay for it. At the end, the guy making the sushi apologized for the almost 2 hour wait and said he needs to start having 2 sushi makers on Monday night’s. Well that doesn’t help me out. Thanks Daimon and Richard for wasting 2 hours of my life. I hated paying that bill and will probably never come to this restaurant again. At least they didn’t charge me for their vinegar infused rice with some salmon on top. Seriously why does your rice taste like vinegar? Thanks for wasting my time and money.

I honestly thought this was the most embarrassing, low life, disgusting, ratchet restaurant I’ve ever been to. The chef was yelling«bitches» when two older women were deep throating a double sided cucumber shaped like a penis. I can’t believe something like this exists. I have lost all faith in humanity. What I saw tonight will never be unseen.

I really don’t get the hype. I’ve heard about Daimons for years and finally came in a few weeks ago and the whole experience was weird. First and foremost, the rice was old(hard and crunchy) which is NOT cool. We came in right when they opened(unbeknownst to us) so seems like they just saved the rice from last night. The quality of fish was whatever, the sauces all tasted bland to me. Even the wasabi was weak! Aside from that the service had some serious trouble. I’ll make a list –we sat down and were given 1 menu for 3 ppl. we then asked for more menus and received 1 more menu. We had to ask again to get the 3rd –I asked 3 people how many oysters came with the $ 7.99 oyster shooter appetizer and no one knew. I ordered them anyway and they didn’t come until the END of the meal when I was told they were actually $ 1.5 each. okay. –Asked about the albacore tataki and how many pcs came in the $ 5 plate vs the $ 12 plate and again it was like no one had any idea what i was talking about. –The happy hour menu was janky as hell and the whole restaurant smelled like bleach. –Our waiter came by once to get the order, once to refill our drinks, and then took off, never to be seen again. Couldn’t get anyone’s attention to order more food(we were still hungry as we had only put in for 3 rolls). Could barely even get the check. We’re trying to spend money, wth! We ended up leaving without ordering more food, without ordering more drinks. Sushi is about indulgence so I won’t be back. 2 stars for cheap happy hour drinks

This is the best Teppan that I have ever had. It wouldn’t be the same without our Chef Rambo. He is so entertaining and interactive with his customers. If feels like going to «Cheers» where everyone knows your name. The Food Is COOKED to perfection and the entertainment factor is 100%. I never leave Daimons with out a smile on my face and an aching belly. Half of that is do to the fanfare and professionalism of our chef Rambo. I look forward to spending every birthday and special occasion at Daimons and my chef.

Absolutely awesome, as always! Half off rolls and sushi for happy hour, which is all day Monday and Wednesday. The owner is always here making your food and passing out free shots. I try to stop here as often as possible, you should too!

We had a BLAST here Memorial Day Monday dinner. My 11 year old girl and 13 year old boy love this place and they begged for their Teppan today as their special holiday treat. The quality of all the ingredient is markedly above what you can ever expect for a $$ restaurant. I had the steak and calimari combo for Monday special for 21 $ and the margarita for 5 $. My hubby had the 4 $ tap beer and the calimari and shrimp for 21 $. Two athlete kids had more than their fill of perfect medium rare steak and shrimp with food to spare. The service is so attentive and above reproach. Especially appreciate the generous pour at the happy hour bar for the tired Mama and the left over for tomorrow’s breakfast is a great bonus. We’ve been here five times and the quality and service is very consistent. I’m not sure what some people are saying about inappropriate content. Great family place. Would love to come back for the more adult stuff without the kids sometime. Wish this place was closer to home but we will definitely be back.

The fun teppen-yaki here made this my go-to birthday place for many years, as it is for many others. I only started going somewhere else because this place gets packed, and parking can be difficult, but I miss them throwing complimentary shrimp into our mouths.(see photo). How do I know they were complimentary? They said they liked my new haircut.

Such a fun place to eat and just have some adult fun. George was our chef and he really made us laugh. Came here with my boyfriend and my cousin. At first the chefs were really tame but then I realized that it was because there was some older party in the back room. Once they left the party started. Lol nothing too crazy, but it was fun. My cousin even got spanked by George for not catching the food in her mouth. They didn’t mess with people who didn’t want to participate which is great. Not everyone want to. This would be a great Girls Nite for sure. Come early so you can do happy hour. Our drinks were $ 4 and our food was $ 18. Got to choose from two meats. Got fried rice and noodles.

Always our go to sushi and teppon Restaurant. We have been coming here for years and now our two year old son loves it here. Creative sushi, great owner and fun atmosphere. Highly recommended coming to this hidden gem of Orange County. Sunset Beach has the best sushi and complimentary valet.

Lived in HB for many years now. From 1990 to present. Before that from 1974 – 1983. Never been to Daimon. Drive by it everyday Seen it all the time. But never been in. Our go to Japanese in HB is Matsu’s. Decided to buy this Groupon deal and give Diamon a try. Glad it was a Groupon deal instead of going in at full price. Was very surprised at the décor inside. LOL. Looked like I was back in the late 60’s in a room with blacklight posters and blacklight. Okay the blacklight paintings on the wall were of fishes. A young lad sat us. He was also the waiter(and busboy). I guess the staff called in sick that day. The california roll was good. Miso soup was just okay. The bento box steak was small and warm and just okay. The chicken wan’t much better. Tempura zucchini was good. Shrimp tasted a little old. One small bite and done. Not what I was used to at Matsu’s. I thought it would more like a Japanese style restaurant. If your looking to take a cheap date out then this would be your place to go. But it ain’t cheap either. Did I mention the music? We were the first one’s in and the music was«loud» Like they had just opened up. Nothing against hip hop/rap music. Not my style. That wasn’t the problem. It was LOUD. And vulgar. Foul language and violence in the lyric. Again, nothing against that. But if this is a family restaurant then yes, not good. There was a family with a child there at the time. And when we left in just over an hour the music was still loud and vulgar. I would of given 3 maybe 3 ½ stars if it wasn’t for the music choice. I’m glad Match’s is still around.

Went there during happy hour. It was pretty quiet when we got there. Service was mediocre at best. The waiter never came back unless we flag him down and the sushi chefs ignored us. I asked for wasabi twice, and still didn’t get any until I was almost done eating. After waiting what seemed like forever we asked for our check even though I didn’t get all of the food I ordered. The food was okay. Not worth going back for the food if you’re never going to get what you order.

Monday and wednesday– happy hour all day for 50% off sushi. Otherwise happy hour is 5−7p on other days. Tues and Thurs-$ 25 for 3 rolls off a list of 25+ rolls Free valet parking or limited street parking on same side in front of the Motor inn before u approach the restaurant. Note: I think the sashimi slices are a bit smaller than other places but they taste fresh and I liked the creative uses of different sauces which was tasty. 1. 24-albacore w ponzu sauce. M liked this more. 2. Salmon Lover-liked the yuzu citrus sauce.refreshing. we both enjoyed it. 3. Tiger roll-crunchy tempura shrimp w salmon and eel. Lots of sweet eel sauce. Tasty but on the flip side you can’t taste the fish because of the sauce.

Food was ok, service a bit lacking, and the prices are really expensive! Came here for dinner one night to use a Groupon. Because it was a weeknight, the restaurant was empty, so I sat at the bar. On Tue and Thu nights, they have AYCE dinner which is a great price and a great deal. Unfortunately I had to use the Groupon on pay the regular prices, $ 15 for rolls, definitely pricey! I ordered 3 rolls, the sushi chef was very nice, efficient. The rolls were definitely on the smaller side compared to other sushi joints in the area and there was a bit too much extra sauce on all of them… couldn’t really taste the fish. The service was ok. I notice that alot of people mentioned it being really fun, perhaps I came too early and the restaurant was very quiet and empty. Think the AYCE is a much better deal.

Daimon is my new favorite sushi spot. They have 50% off happy hour on Monday and Wednesday and Tuesday and Thursday its 24.95 for 3 items off their happy hour menu. The selection of rolls fo happy hour is quite extensive. My favorite is the Hawaiian roll. The sushi is fresh and presented well. Sushi chefs are friendly and accommodating. The bathrooms are not the cleanest but the food and atmosphere make up for it. Parking lot is quite small and valet parking is required on some nights. I haven’t figured out when their schedule is. I’ve visited Daimon on a Monday and Thursday. The location of this place is kinda wierd. It can be easily missed as you drive south bound on PCH so after you pass the bridge slow down or you’ll miss it.

For our next alphabet dinner location, we chose Daimon in Huntington Beach. Initially I tried to make a reservation but unfortunately, they had another large party coming in so they told me to either choose an earlier time or a later time. Since we had a large group, I had to double-check with the group if this was ok. I had a friend call in and make the reservation. Lo and behold, he was able to get us a reservation for the time we wanted for teppan. When I called, they didn’t give me the choice and I’m assuming the other large party was for the sushi area. So definitely specify when you make a reservation! Our group wanted teppan so we happily snagged the 7 pm slot. The restaurant is located on PCH by this motel and parking is valet but you can try your luck parking on PCH. Once inside, I went to the back bar to meet my friends. Free shot with Unilocal Check-in! The night was off to a good start. Apparently they have all night happy hour on Mondays and Wednesdays, double score for us. As far as teppan was concerned, we saved $ 10 off with the happy hour special of pick 2(any combination of NY steak, chicken, shrimp, or calamari). I opted for the NY steak(medium rare) and shrimp. With our meal, we also received salad, soup, fried or steamed rice, vegetables and noodles. It was a lot of food and I was starving. They even accommodated my friend’s request not to mix her seafood with meat as she has some food allergies. The food was delicious, but maybe it’s because I was starving. I also tried some of my friend’s Nigori cold sake and ordered a Kirin for myself. I thought I had ordered the draft but out came a bottle instead. No big deal since it was happy hour pricing. If you’ve never been to a teppan show, you’re in for a treat. Our chef and server kept us entertained throughout the evening. Our group had a great time. I can see how this place can get rowdy on the weekends but when we were there, it was quieter. It definitely depends on the clientele.
