My first time here and it’s my last. I ordered beef broccoli, kung pao chicken and salted shrimp. The broccoli is okay but the beef is not the normal beef. It’s something that you don’t want to put in your mouth and swallow. It tastes like fat. It’s probably the lowest qualify piece of the cow. The chicken from the kung pao dish is nasty. It’s too soft and too wet. They put too much sauce. The last dish is the salted shrimp. The shrimps are tiny and they are not those big shrimp like other chinese restaurant. Just like other reviewers, waiting is horrible. It took 20 minutes to get my three dishes out when the place is not even crowded. If you really want real chinese food, drive 10 more minutes north toward the asian area. You will get tastier food than this restaurant. my gosh, I still tastes the food in my mouth … =(

Food is delish– had the spinach, honey walnut shrimp-the best– mongolian beef, and house cut lo mein, no misses at all. Service was quick and attentive. A bit on the casual dining atmosphere– wise, and limited parking, but no show stoppers. Im full and happy– i’ll be back soon Must be the best chinese place in HB!

Good food. But they are horrible in kitchen management. To go order is even worse. They will tell you a pick up time and then make you wait for 20 min or up to an hour.

Best service. Best Chinese food in town. Best employees. The servers are always so friendly. Love their chicken corn soup, parathas, house fried rice, Mongolian beef, salt & pepper fish & kung pao chicken! Just wish they would allow to order before sitting in at times as the wait can be a tad bit long. However other than, the drive up there is always worth it.

Restaurant is all about experience. What you get here is terrible service, below average food served at speed that one would prefer driving on 405 during commute hours. Never coming back.

This is my preferred go-to Halal Chinese restaurant in So Cal. We have been going here for many years now. Yes it’s a wee bit more expensive than Ma’s Chinese(not significantly), and sometimes the serving size of the dishes isn’t large(relatively). But the quality and taste of the food is SOMUCHBETTER(relative to Ma’s or Nomad). Also I like going here because there’s never a crazy wait time like Ma’s(is it obvious by now that I don’t like Ma’s) and you can sit here and, you know… have a conversation without the entire Halal eating population of So Cal there. We always order the Sizzling Black Pepper Chicken, it is amazing. Another favorite of ours is the sweet and sour fish.

I’ve been driving by this place for years so I figured it was time to drop in. I had read the reviews and knew I had to get the sesame bread. I’m glad I did it was yummy! We also got the chicken and jellyfish. I had never tried jellyfish before and I doubt I will get it again. The crispy duck was amazing! I loved the way it was served. We also got orange chicken and garlic shrimp. Both very good. Service was good. Large restaurant with big family style tables.

If u like super slow service and corn starch, this is the place for u! Had the fish lunch special, and Kung pao chicken. Fish was very mushy and not tastety, same as the chicken. They put a lot of corn starch in the dishes. The best thing about the meal was the water with the thin perfectly sliced lime and crunchy clear cold ice cubes. I’m not sure what all these other positive posts were eating but it definately was a miss for me, except for the water!

I’ve been there many times and enjoyed it. They were busy with half of the restaurant full. Service was a little slow since I only saw 2 people running the store. One star was taken for the slow service. I ordered from their lunch menu Shrimp with spicy sauce and it was very good. I highly recommend this establishment.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the world! we are a family of four, and this is our regular order: — Thick sesame bread(order this as soon as you are seated, takes 20 minutes but is worth the wait) — Sizzling rice soup — Honey walnut shrimp — Mongolian beef — Chicken with spicy sauce — Three flavors lo mein — sautéed string beans Yes it’s a lot, but there was no point arguing, and we have leftovers! The staff is friendly and the service fine. This is all halal and pork free. We love this place and we recommend it highly!

Definitely won’t be back. I got here about 15 min late for my to go order and it was ready after I walked in. Should have been ready 15−20min before that. The cream cheese wontons aren’t nearly as filled as they should be and the wonton paper is overdone. The sizzling rice soup has some weird white unnamed fish in it that was unappetizing. I prefer shrimp, chicken and beef in this soup. I had to put at least 4tbsp of soy sauce in this soup to give it flavor. Can’t understand the lady who takes the phone orders online at all… I had to have her repeat nearly everything she said. Too much of an annoyance for lousy food to ever come back. ALSO, really expensive! Cream cheese wontons and sizzling rice soup for $ 19, never again.

We wanted to try this restaurant on 7÷17÷15. Walked in, no hostess to greet us. We stood there for 5 minutes. Saw a server came out of the kitchen with food, then she went back into the kitchen. Waited another 5 minutes. The same server came out of the other end of the kitchen. Waited another 5 minutes. Same server came out of the kitchen again. One of their customers wanted to add more order I believed because she had been standing by the POS all this time. Server made the order for her. Nobody ever came over to acknowledge us. Now we have another couple standing behind us waiting to be seated. Waited for another 3 minutes. We had had enough waiting, walked out and went next door to Sakura. I guess they don’t care losing customers.

I just can’t say enough how much I love this place. It’s almost my 6th year coming here. The food taste didn’t change in these last 6 years. They know what I always order and obviously serve delicious chinese food. Please try their everything! You will not be disappointed!

I’ve been here a couple times with family, and this place almost never lets me down. It’s, and downright delicious. I know a lot of people prefer Ma’s Islamic and that is great too, but if you’re in the neighborhood and you would like some chinese and NOT a long waiting line, the you should definitely try this place. For larger groups, Lotus has round tables with a plate turning center so that everyone can easily get their food. For starters, we almost always order the chicken corn soup — it’s hot, not spicy unless you add the hot chili sauce or soya sauce, and it gets you started for whatever else you ordered. Mongolian beef, Kung pao chicken and my FOREVER favorite the shredded beef are all GREAT dishes. They have hand cut noodles, and a LOT more. Try and see which plates are your favorite!

This review is for their lunch time specials. My mom and I were greeted and seated by the owner of the place. she seemed pretty intimidating, but she was actually pretty nice as time went by. There were other waitresses, but since we went at a random time for lunch(2:30 pm), it was empty, so they didn’t really do anything lol. Important part, the food: I ordered the fish fillet in spicy sauce lunch special,(it included rice and soup of the day) and my mom ordered the beef tendon and ox tail salad. We also ordered green onion pancakes. The owner was nice enough to give us complimentary eggrolls too and she gave us an upgrade on the rice(lunch specials usually come with a tiny bowl of rice). Fish fillet in spicy sauce: yum. This dish was sooooo good. The sauce was very spicy, and was seasoned with scallions, onions and garlic. The fish was also very tender and flavorful. I recommend this dish for spicy lovers. The soup of the day was egg drop, it’s meh. Nothing special. Beef tendon and spicy ox tail salad: NOM. My mom loved her dish. Fresh cucumbers, green onions mixed with beef tendon and ox tail and lightly coated in a spicy sauce. Green onion pancake: I’ve had better, but not saying that Lotus’ was bad. It was actually really good! Eggrolls: NOM. Make sure you get these babies fresh. Not your typical veggie eggroll, this one has curry in it. Great addition, very NOM. All in all, it was a great experience. The owner was very nice and we told her how much we liked the food and she gave us literally a WHOLEBAG of the curry eggrolls. That was very nice of her. I only gave a four star rating because I want to try this place again during dinner time and see if I get the same experience with the service and food.

Another family-run business in Huntington Beach that we love to support! Lotus Chinese has a wonderfully diverse menu, and the quality ingredients are evident in the foods’ delicious flavors. I love the wonton soup that’s full of fresh veggies & shrimp wontons — it’s a must order! Other favorites are the star wontons, Singapore chicken rice, and the sautéed green beans. Lotus is open until 9:30p which is 30 minutes later than the majority of HB restaurants. They have a simple yet large dine-in space but they also do take-out & delivery. Service is generally very prompt either way. Another added bonus — Lotus is Halal. I’ve introduced this restaurant to many of my Muslim friends & it’s been a big hit.

This was the worst customer service experience I’ve had in a very long time. The place was not crowded, with less than 5 people that were actual customers there during lunch hours. I wasn’t greeted by anyone and after i motioned someone they told me to go sit anywhere. I had to ask for everything including my water, and to order. They refused to come up and take my order. The food itself took over an hour to arrive. That was ridiculous considering they were empty. I wanted to give a good review but I won’t ever come back because their staff is lacking customer care. On top of that they over charged me and refunded me in cash. Everything had to take long and I had to wait just sitting there looking lost.
