Huntington Public Library

Great library, friendly staff, interesting and fun programs. Always very clean. I work during the week, so I really appreciate the special children’s programs offered during the summer and on weekends.

this is one of the best funded awesome libraries i’ve seen. quiet. plently of computers. plenty of magazines. tons of hunched over old people. in short, the worlds most perfect library. membership is free and easy to do at the desk. after that you have access to tons of movies, music and books from your computer. i wish it was open more hours

I love my library.
Pros: They have great classes and programs. I love that they participate with the OverDrive app for electronic book rentals. You can also get free admission to museums and events. You can rent new movies.
Cons: I wish they were open later on weekdays and weekends, especially for studying. I also wish they had a comfy couch reading section. No designated library parking.

I use the library to borrow movies and books, plus have done some occasional. I find the library is well organized and laid out in a way to meet the needs of the variety of patrons who make use of it. A good place to get things done.

As you walk into Huntington Public Library you are greeted by some of the nicest and most respectful security guards around. Information about library events and programs are shown on a television when you first walk in or you look at the bulletin board that has them listed also. There are three levels you can choose from during your adventure here, the main level which has circulation and adult reference, the lower level which is used for events in the auditorium and meetings, and the second floor where you can study or enter the wonderful world of youth and parent services.
I’ll start off with circulation, depending on who you get helping you, most of the time the clerk is friendly and nice. They are good at helping you with any problems you have with your patron record or questions in general. Always remember to return your stuff on time, the patron next on the list greatly appreciates it.
Next is adult reference and they’ll help you with a number of things ranging from book suggestions to research information. They are very patient and will help you as much as they possibly can until they have found what you need.
Go upstairs and you’ll find the exciting world of youth and parent services. The atmosphere is great for children if you have any and there is a play area for them that includes legos and puzzles. Need any book recommendations for your child, no problem the librarians know exactly what book your child will enjoy. There is also a teen room for teens upstairs where they have their own computers and a television.
The lower level has the auditorium and meeting room downstairs. The auditorium is where most of the events and programs are, and is great for movies as well. All the bathrooms are clean and never a mess. There is also free wifi for any of you with laptops.
