There are two things you absolutely must try: The La Parma salad is outrageous! It comes with a warm balsamic dressing that’s out this world! Their fried calamari arrabbiatta is really out of this world! And the service is always exceptional!

We have been going to La Parma for 25 years and have never been disappointed. There is not a single dish that I do not like. Best family style Italian restaurant on Long Island.

MMMMM. This place is delicious! The mister and I went back home to surprise his parents for Valentine’s Day weekend, so we made quite a few food stops. It was the coldest day in New York, and ever was, so we didn’t really want to go out, but I’m happy we did. I really wanted spaghetti and the mister is always craving NY’s Italian food, so his parents were able to get us reservations here on such short notice. I really liked it here because it’s family style. All big dishes and everyone gets to try everything. What was really nice was when the waiter served us all our individual plates by putting a small serving of each dish. They took it to another level! We had ordered a salad, I can’t remember the name, but it had mozzarella, red peppers, olives, croutons, and balsamic vinaigrette — super yummy. Since I wanted pasta, we got one with marinara and then we also got linguini with white calm sauce. Our last dish was shrimp in tomato sauce? I totally forgot the name but it had a zest to it, which made it really yummy. We also had a bottle of wine and last but not least, some dessert! All in all, an amazing Italian place on Long Island. Happy tummy, happy lady :)

As always amazing food! Enjoyed the appetizers and all the pasta dishes. Home made Fettuccine with Arugula and fresh mozzarella was delicious. Will be a regular for years.

Oh La Parma. La parma. What happened to ALL the garlic!!! Gone are the days the dishes came out with 12 –14 giant cloves of garlic. The Garlic is half the size now and half the amount. We were lucky if our $ 14 broccoli rabe had 5 small cloves in it . I recently moved back to Long Island so it’s been awhile since Ive been here. but have had nothing but great memories. Well boy oh boy has that changed. Brought 2 friends last night who have never been and I had been raving to them to get ready for the BEST Italian food around. . Sorry to report I was so disappointed:(. Opted for the beat salad to start rather than the house chopped salad. Salad was tasty minus the truffle oil dressing .Opt for there house dressing instead. Then came out the baked clams and zuppa de mussels. Baked clams were dry, no garlic and somewhat fishy not at all how I remembered. The mussels had pretty much 6 small cloves of garlic however sauce was still ok. Certainly not the 14 giant cloves it use to have. Shrimp la Parma was still excellent and white clam sauce was still good but again lacking all that signature garlic. Not as many chopped clams on top either. Chicken scarp a fan favorite was extremely dry and uneventful. The sausage was barely cooked and the potatoes peppers and onions weren’t even hot and just dumped on top all for an extra .$ 14.95.really?! All and all bill was $ 265. Incl tip for a depressing experience. Please La Parma go back to your roots and stop catering to whole wheat and gluten free pasta customers with annoying special orders. You’ve really lost what made you so great.

After much research, my fiancé and I decided to host our engagement dinner at La Parma II and I can’t say enough about how wonderful our experience was. First and foremost, the manager, Vincent, took such great care of us. From several phone conversations, to checking in on us throughout our dinner, he gave us five star service all the way. The staff was very friendly and the service itself was impeccable. They even turned down the air conditioning for us when my grumpy future father-in-law complained that it was blowing too strongly. The food was great and the portions were gigantic. We had leftovers for days! So happy with our experience and would definitely come back here for another meal or future celebration. Thank you for everything, La Parma II!

We had about 20 people for a family members 50th birthday back in April 2015. We had never been here as we have a favorite family style place we swear by(Steves Buscola in Westbury) that being said we went here… The service was excellent and every single dish that hit the table was outstanding!!! I have been dreaming about returning and we are going tomorrow evening and we all cant wait. EXCELLENT Italian food!!!

The very first time I had ever gone to La Parma was after my high school graduation back in 2005. My mom, and two of my friends had gone to La Parma(the location in Albertson), and had neglected to realize that the meals were Family Style. We had each ordered our own meal. I ended up having leftovers for a month, since my friends gave me their’s to take home! I recently ended up trying La Parma II with a group of friends for dinner, and it pleasantly reminded me of my high school graduation experience. This time, we all knew that it was family style, and we ordered accordingly. We tried their steak, broccoli rabe, penne ala vodka, chicken francese, and were all thoroughly impressed! The food was fiver star, the staff was attentive, and we all enjoyed the dining experience. There were 6 of us in the group, and our bill totaled to $ 180WITH tip. That being said, we are definitely going back soon! :)

I admittedly can’t make a trip back to Long Island without a stop at La Parma. We typically go on Sundays as it’s easier to get in faster than a Friday or Saturday. Immediately the hustle and bustle and amazing garlic filled aromas greet you at the door. My family had been coming here for years and gets the same thing every time: Chopped salad, with the most perfect vinaigrette dressing ever. Stuffed artichoke, doused with lemon, garlic and stuffing Baked clams that are always well seasoned And the main dish. Only way to describe this is as a behemoth. Served over the greatest marinara sauce ever– where the garlic just permeates. Lobster tails, shrimp, clams and linguine. Just… Wow.

I grew up going to this restaurant for special occasions with the wholllle family. It’s perfect for big groups because it’s family style so you can share everything and try a lot of different dishes. They’ll make anything the way you want it. I may be spoiled living in the city and eating out a lot but La Parma is just ok. It’s mostly comfort italian food, you can’t really go wrong… although it tends to be on the salty side. I recommend this restaurant only if you are eating out with a lot of people.

Still the best Italian family style restaurant on LI. The prices are reasonable for the serving size. A group of 5 we spent $ 180 with tip. This included a bottle of wine, large salad, eggplant parm, Veal al la Parma, and Broccoli with pasta and espressos. Our waiter was outstanding. Very professional with a great sense of humor and appears to enjoy working at La Parma. The entire staff was friendly. They do have valet parking which wasn’t necessary on Rosh Hashana, a slow night but probably helpful on busy nights.

We went there for my sister’s 50th birthday party with a large group and everyone was extremely disappointed. First of all the service was terrible. Since the waiters knew they were getting at least a 20% tip(mandatory for large groups) they did very little all night. They were very slow, unfriendly and not very helpful at all. The service was cold bordering on rude and extremely inattentive. For a good 20 – 30 minutes they actually completely forgot about our table… they disappeared! The bartender was not any better. He had the personality of a funeral director and seemed bothered every time that we tried to order a drink. The place is so small that all the people who were waiting for tables were hovering around our table almost begging us to finish up and leave. The atmosphere was loud, cramped and stuffy. It was lacking charm to say the least. As for the food, it did not get any better. We ordered 5 – 6 different appetizers and 8 – 9 different main courses and nothing really stood out. It was all mediocre and some dishes were cold. The meatballs were awful. At the end of the night no one even wanted to take them home. In fact we left all of the left over food on the table – which was a first for my family. There is no way that I would ever go back to this restaurant.

To be honest, I’d give this 3.5 stars. We went to La Parma II for our anniversary recently. We got there around 6:30 — 7:00 on a Friday night, after my boyfriend had phoned the place and was told by a worker there that it would be a good time to come. He was right and we were seated right away. I am from Oceanside and remember going to their location there when I was little. I was aware of the family style aspect and the fact they had their menu on the wall. We started off with Stuffed Artichokes. Since the boyfriend’s mom makes one of these for each person at almost every holiday meal, we ended up getting two orders of these, since it is one stuffed artichoke an order. When we first ordered them, there was a bit of a language barrier and the server only ordered one for us. We were a little ticked, but the waiter corrected it right away and brought us out another one. The bread stuffing was very tasty, the outside of the artichokes were a little burnt, but I’m sure they make a lot of these things at once and some of them are bound to get that way. Next we ordered Spaghetti with White Clam Sauce and Chicken Scarpariella with White Meat(boneless) with Sausage. This was probably the best clam sauce I’d ever had. It wasn’t too overpowering with the clam and it was mighty delicious to dip with bread. The Chicken Scarpariella was very tasty too and the size of the pieces of chicken were amazing. We ordered a Canoli for dessert. It was a nice way to end our anniversary dinner. The cream was not too sweet and right on point. All in all for two Stuffed Artichokes, one dish of White Clam Sauce, one Chicken Scarpariella with Sausage, a Canoli, a glass of wine and a soda, it came to about $ 100 – 120. Overall, do I think this is the best Italian food I’ve had? No, but I would go back maybe for a special occasion or a big group. Not sure I would go back all the time. If you like a little bit of a different spin on Italian, I’d go to a place like Ciao Baby. If you want to have traditional, yet solid Italian style cuisine, La Parma is a good choice.

My family has been patronizing La Parma II(and La Parma in Williston Park) since I was a child. The food is consistently great, however what held me back from giving it 4 stars was the service. Regarding the food, it’s excellent, bottom line. Order the La Parma Salad, Zuppa di Muscles, Veal La Parma and/or Linguine in White Clam Sauce. You can’t go wrong with any of those choices, but make sure you ask for extra bread for dipping in the Zuppa di Muscles sauce! La Parma II has a history of exceedingly fast service, and of rushing patrons out before they’re ready to leave. I hate when another course is arriving at the table before the previous has been finished and on a number of occasions my tables have been cleared before we’ve finished our coffee and dessert. Checks are forced on you at the end of the meal and its made apparent to you that when you’re done eating its time to for you to go. However, since it’s usually packed all weekend, I suppose a little rudeness from the staff can be overlooked. As mentioned, the restaurant is always busy, and they don’t take reservations, so unless you are aware they accept«call ahead,» anticipate on waiting for a table on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. All in all very good family style Italian with alot of Long Island«charm.»

This is the most popular place not only here but from neighboring towns for Italian family style food with panache. The first time I was here was back in 97⁄98. Tried the lobster tails oreganato. Calamari with a sweet spicy sauce. Was the worst food I had ever had at a good restaurant. Lobster was salty briney horrid. and the calimari was overshadowed by the tangy sauce. This was a biz dinner and the person ordered for me. It was hard to say but I managed the words… «No I don’t want to wrap or take home». No need my friend. Flash forward to 2000 to present I have been there again over the years and ordered myself. and found that they really do traditional Italian better. Large plates of shrimp marinara, appetizers, wine, and assorted Italian staples are best here. Stay away from the Lobster tails and get the Calimari with regular sauce and you will love this place. Service is very good. It can be dressy or casual depending on your mood, they have valet, but are not pretentious or stuffy. It works for business, friends, or a semi romantic dinner. Very versatile place and vibe. For a bit more of a date night out… go to La Parma in east Williston. It seems to have it’s own more serious vibe.
