Classic Huntington! Grab a drink and a bite and relax. Only the real people come here.(fake people stay on their own side of the street) Drinks are decent, food is decent, staff are always friendly and talkative. You will find everyone from babies to seniors here. This place has a personality all its own. Bonus if you are from Huntington because you will more often then not, bump into someone you know. The bartenders are great and if you are nice will buy back. One time I ordered something I didn’t care for(I can’t remember exactly but it might have been a quesadilla) and the bartender noticed that we weren’t eating it and took it away and credited the bill! I just love it!

Served it’s purpose – quick bite and a Guinness— for me quite well. Unilocal spotting on the map is awful. It’s north of the second traffic circle. Chris behind bar very helpful; poured a proper Guinness and ran bar well. Missed kitchen by 2 minutes, but let me bring pizza in. Has a nice local feel.

I go here on occasion to watch soccer matches. This place is a bar with food, locals are great, service is perfect. Great place to relax and get a drink. Can’t complain, never. Good beer selections and booze.

Stopped in for lunch while I was in the area. Great little place for a burger, the lunch special was a good value.

Let me first start off by writing that I used to absolutely love this place. Key words…“used to”. The menu has changed drastically within the past year or so. They used to have various different delicious items on the menu, from the usual bar food, to burgers, to sandwiches, to various salads, to other various entrees. Now? Only appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, two salads and a few specials. Also — everything is insanely expensive for what you get. I am not sure if it is under new ownership/management or if they have a new chef. Additionally, I never complain online about places, nor do I EVER send food back. EVER. I was craving a burger the other night, so my boyfriend and I decided to go to the Shamrock as it was one of our staples. As soon as we received the menus I was surprised at how small the menu has become, and also how expensive it was — we usually split an appetizer, and once we saw all appetizers were over $ 12 we decided to skip it. I ordered my burger medium, and without a bun. Once I received it I cut through it with a fork and it was raw on the inside. Completely raw. I have no problems with meat being pink on the inside(lets put it this way — I eat and love beefsteak tartare), but this was ridiculous, and not what I wanted in my burger. My bf was even surprised at how raw it was. Now, I never send food back, at all, but in this case I had to. The waitress was extremely nice about it and took my burger back. Not even 45 seconds later the busboy comes back with my burger, and it is microwaved. Who microwaves a burger?! I was shocked(and now not happy as I thought I had to go home and make my own food because I was starving). The waitress comes back over and admits that the chef microwaved it and shouldn’t have, and offers to bring me another burger, a new one. At this point I didn’t even want one, but I got it anyways. Was the next burger cooked medium? Yes — perhaps more on the medium well side but at least it wasn’t still breathing. Did the chef obviously stand over the grill with a spatula leaning on it the whole time? Yep. So I had a hockey puck with cheese. Granted, I ate it because I was starving, but I was not happy at all. As stated above, I never send food back, at all, and here I had to send a burger back, twice. Needless to say, I will not be going back here. Sad, because I used to really enjoy the Shamrock.

Cool, neighborhood pub. Cozy, friendly. My friend lives nearby, so usually stop in at least once when I’m visiting. They have pool table and Galaga video game in back; played a little of both. Haven’t tried the food, but it looks good, and drinks were fine and poured by a friendly bartender.

I had the Chicken Wings on the Lunch Special. They were just OK. The sauce was very good. A little sweet and a little spicy. But ask for them WELLDONE!!! They are big chicken wings and they were a little pink inside. If they were well done, they would have been perfect.

The Shamrock. I still love this local place but not sure what the management is thinking. Most of the good staff has been let go and some of the staff now is just confused/clueless. However the food is still above par bar food that good beyond your typical burgers, salads, and deep fried apps. The wings are great and used to be even better when they were free for football Sundays… Overall if you want a local bar with good food visit the shamrock when the rest of Huntington is too crowded.

Menu has a nice variety. Fried chicken was good. Dinning area has variety of quick draw, OTB, and sports channel. I arrived to early for free wings, during the football game. If I lived in the area, would be a regular.

I was pretty tired of all the Italian home cooking go on so I stumbled into this place looking to get hammered. The party started off with 2 Irish Car Bombs and a Guinness. While sipping on my Guinness I ordered The Pot Roast. I smelt this beast of a meal the moment I entered the place. This Pot Roast was INSANE !! By far one of the best roast I have munched on. Follow it up with a Guinness and I was out the door.

Neighborhood Pub. Not truly an Irish pub, it is a great place to watch the games and drinks some beers. We used to go here a lot — but since i don’t live in the area anymore, I get to go infrequently now. The bartenders are usually very good and the place gets hopping later in the evening. Parking lot out front.
