Finnegan’s is a Huntsville«institution» — it’s been around FOREVER. I just read that it was established in 1977. The live piano playing entertainment at Finnegan’s is fun. To it’s credit, it’s a local bar, it has a neighbhood feel, and I believe they still sponsor the«Worlds smallest St. Patrick’s Day Parade» or at least Finnegan’s marks the ending point of the short parade. Last time I went, it was super smoky, and smoke does not normally bother me and I had the worst wine ever. If I recall corectly, the bartender, to his credit, really tried to steer me away from having wine there. Too bad I didn’t listen to him. It’s owner recently passed away, and I think her sister is running it now. Give Finnegan’s, a try, just to say you did(But stick with the beer or cocktails) :-) Enjoy the piano player — she’s awesome!

Finnegan’s is Huntsville’s take on an Irish pub. It’s a decent space and can get a decent crowd of easy-going locals. It’s always fun to use the dartboard and there aren’t many bar conversation pieces in Huntsville. However, you’ll get a migraine from the smoke & the beer selection is generic Irish standard.

Finnegan’s fills a niche market which I very much enjoy from time to time.

I really dig this place-local dive bar in Huntsville, so much fun on Wednesday nights-Bourbon and Shamrocks make the place so fun and lively. only complaint, when I come home from the bar I smell like I smoked 20 packs of cheap cigarettes(I think the only reason I complain about that is I dont smoke). I think they give me more of a hangover than the yummy Original Sin cider that they stock there ;)!!!

Staff very friendly, regulars are great. Bar is a little dirty and quite smoky, but this is one where the atmosphere, irish music and staff outweigh the dirt and smoke. Prices on the drinks and food are amazing.

Atmosphere, Guiness on draft, and Irish music on thursday nights! Who needs anything else! Go, enjoy the bar. Have a drink after work. Relax. After awhile, the place grows on you. Okie, it could be a little cleaner… but the beer is cold.
