Stardust Room

This is what all small bars should be. Nothing pretentious — just pool, darts, and nice people with whom to have a drink and a chat. Only drawback for some will be that smoking is still allowed indoors, which, especially given the relatively small space, might bother those not fond of cigarettes and the like. Other than that, this is a true gem.

I would of given this 5 stars but they need to bring back the food from a few years back, the food they had was FAR above standard pub fare, and one of the best freshly prepared pastas and dishes in Huntsville. They didn’t have free wifi when I was there but who cares, MEET people, this is a smaller town and not a huge metro, you won’t blend in anyway once you are a regular. This is one of the few bars in Texas I been to that does a buyback if you spend enough, the drinks are strong the prices are cheap and a great selection of microbrews as well. I loved open mic night, grabbing lunch here when the place was slow and you can have great conversations with the workers and bartender. Great décor, and vibe as well and in a very safe and walkable part of the small town. Good think Huntsville extended the drinking hours to 2am. I haven’t been here in a few years but I believe I owe this place a visit one more time if I’m ever driving to Dallas or coming back.

I was born and raised in Cali. Been here for about 2 years. This is the first bar I ever went to in Texas period. Little did I know that this bar would be my go to bar. I love this bar! The people, the music, and the bartenders are so awesome! They really make you feel like family. They have pool tables, a juke box, a really cool just old school patio. It’s just a all around chill bar to go to.

I had never been to this little jewel before, despite traveling to the center of all things prison several times over the past few years, and it is located on the square right across from the Walker County Courthouse where I’ve squandered away many hours of my life. Thus, I have to thank my two colleagues, Allan and Cynthia for dragging me in there two weeks in a row. It is a darkly lit little joint, as expected of a place called Stardust, and it draws every walk of life from town drunk to judge. It has a great juke box full of Motown, a full-​stocked bar, and the staff are friendly and quick. Our waiter recommended as an appetizer the fried green beans, and they were quite tasty. I got a pepperwood bacon BLT on cibatta bread for an entrée. yum, yum. Everything was reasonably priced. I’m definitely going to be a repeat customer.

My friends love going to the Stardust, but it’s just not my favorite place. I’m a little biased because I don’t like bars to begin with, and I also don’t like smoking, which they allow. I do like that they have an outdoor patio in the back — it’s really nice out there when the weather is good. They used to have some decent stuff on the menu, but they recently (today is 3÷17÷10) cut the menu back, so now it’s just regular bar food, i.e. hard to get anything that isn’t greasy or fried (although you can get a giant caesar salad that is pretty good).

Somewhere between a Tiki bar and a dive bar, the Stardust room is a great place to go in Huntsville to get away from Huntsville. It’s got a laid back atmosphere, a bigger city vibe, and a lot of nice selections in the juke.

The Stardust Room was great! A coworker and I were in Huntsville looking for a place to grab a bite and have a beer. The Stardust Room was on the town square and looked like a cool place to check out.
They have happy hour specials every day… we had Mexican beers (bottle and draft) for about $ 2! The food was good, too. We shared the Carribbean wings and fried veggie platter, which consisted of fried green beans, squash, and potatoes. Yum! Great dipping sauce!
The place plays great music and serves as one of the few places to hang out and have a beer in Huntsville! Great staff, good food, and a good variety of bottle beer. I would recommend it to anyone passing through!
