I ordered online — a new but amazing experience! They had it ready within the 10 minutes it took me to drive there. I just scrolled down the menu and tapped what I wanted. I got soup — egg drop, egg rolls and coconut chicken. There is enough for 2 maybe 3 meals for under $ 20. Fabulous. Will definitely do again.

Let me start with my very happy experience with my server, Mary Beth. She never left me alone. Every three minutes she made sure I was taken care of. My first time at this restaurant so I can’t say if this was an exception, or standard operating procedure for this restaurant. Now on to the food. I ordered flounder. I asked if this was ordered often by others as I did not want to eat old fish. Mary Beth told me everything on the menu was fresh and good. Skeptical, I ordered the flounder. Guess what? It was fresh and wonderful! Unbelievable! It gets better. When I ordered Mary Beth asked if I would like a California Roll upgrade for $ 2.00. 2 frigging dollars? Are you kidding me? I said yes of course. The California roll that was brought our was one of the best I have every had. Delicious! I love this restaurant and will be back soon!

I have been very pleased at Sun Café. Their food is diverse and I’ve not had any bad experience.

There was only 1 server when the place was 80% full with lunch crowd. Poor lady. She was very rushed and messed up a couple of orders. Still, she was nice-ish. No fault to her. The food was edible. The noodle soup dishes smelled really good but the broth, vegetables, meat were all bland. Which most likely mean one thing: packaged flavor like ramen or cup o noodles. They’re not cook fresh or from scratch; shame on me to think so. If you get rice with duck, ask them to put the sauce on the side. They give you a huge amount and it’s very salty. They’re on groupons. $ 19 for 3 groupons, each good for $ 12; it’s about $ 6.33 for $ 12 so close to half off. Go: Then search for sun café, huntsville, al.

The sushi is awesome! I got the shrimp tempura roll which was great. The tobiko was delicious, the lettuce was an interesting addition in my opinion and all around I thought the sushi was good. I also got the chicken teriyaki starter, just a couple skewers of chicken teriyaki of course. Not much to report on that but it’s cooked well and tastes good. They also deliver which is amazing. Sushi delivered right to your door, that’s so awesome. The food came quickly, I believe in about 30 minutes. Everything tasted freshly made and the chicken teriyaki was still warm. I definitely can’t complain.

Well what had happened was, I went to Rice Box and ordered a couple rolls. I took the food to go and tried it, it was terrible. I was still still in the mood for sushi and I saw that Sun Café was in the area so I decided to stop in and give them a try. I had saw on here and online that they had a 2 for $ 9 or 3 for $ 11. There were a few cars in the parking lot but I guess they were all in the Vietnam restaurant next door because I was the only person in Sun Café. I was greeted by the hostess and I asked if I could place a carryout order. I skimmed over one of the menus, as I was looking at the page with«Lunch Specials» the hostess said that they«don’t do that on the weekends» but I could buy sushi rolls«à la carte». Bless her. I first thought that I would just say, ‘no thanks’ and leave but I instead ordered an avocado roll($ 3) and a Boston roll($ 4). It didn’t take but 5ish minutes to receive the order. The rolls were fresh enough. The Boston roll didn’t have too much mayo, which I liked. I didn’t really have any complaints about the rolls. They weren’t bad like the ones I had at Rice Box, but they weren’t the best I’ve ever had. I was also annoyed that I couldn’t do the 2 for $ 9 lunch special. It didn’t have any wordage on the menu, in store and online about it not being available on the weekends. It was good, but I’ll try another place next time in town or go to Four Leaves.

Placed an online order at 4:36pm, went in at 4:55 and they had not even started it. There was one other customer sitting at the bar and that is it. At 5:15 I finally got my order(3 different raw maki rolls and crab rangoons) The crab rangoons are luke warm to almost cold and I ate them as soon as I got into the car. The California rolls and Spicy tuna were ok but not great. The mango aka: sweet one was nasty. The fish outer part was not cold. I have had lunch here before and it was great and fast. This time it was HORRIABLE.

Went for dinner last night with a groupon. Shared the sushi chef’s special creation called«let the good times roll» and it was excellent. It was crab, shrimp, avocado, cream cheese, deep fried with two sauces on top. It had 9 pieces and was on special for $ 5.99! You can’t beat that! We also split hot and sour soup which was great and General Tso’s chicken extra spicy. Everything including service was on spot. Certainly gave us reason to return!

We haven’t had sushi since we moved to Huntsville. We decided to have sushi for lunch and found this place. We were seated right away and there was a family in one booth and my family of 4. They had a small party room in the back which had a party back there. The waitress took down our order and brought us drinks. We waited for 10 minutes and finally the kids got their food but my husband and I still waited for two sushi rolls. We sat there watching the kids eat until they were both done with their meals and we still waited for ours. 20 minutes pass by and the waitress came over and apologize for the wait. She said they have a big group in the back that’s why it’s taking so long. I was already full from drinking two glasses of water and wanted to cancel the order but of course my husband insist we wait awhile longer. Finally after 30 minutes we got our rolls. The food was good but it wasn’t worth the wait. My kids sat there watching us eat since they’re already finished there meals. I don’t understand why they would have four waitress and one guy making all the rolls. It wasn’t even packed at all even for easter Sunday. I might give it a try again but it won’t be soon.

We are a bit surprised that this place is not more popular. They really do have a great selection and the sushi is of very good quality and creativity. Note to the owners: brighten up the restaurant and the store front, unless you want to remain the hidden gem of huntsville ;-)

Best sushi place I’ve tried in Huntsville! Very friendly and attentive staff. Great menu with a lot of options. Can only speak to the sushi portion of it, but all if it was top notch. Loved the miso soup, edamame, every special roll I’ve tried and one time got a free sample of a new special roll that is going to be added– delicious! Highly recommend.

Great sushi and Chinese food, Great service. I wish more people knew about this place, because it’s one of the best in town. For lunch, they have good deals on sushi(two rolls with soup or salad for 9 or three for 11). Dinner may be a bit more pricey, but big portions! Lots of sushi to choose from. I’ve probably had them all. From philly rolls, to avocado, eel, cucumber, spicy and regular crab and shrimp, and I think even a sweet potato. They use real crab meat and white chicken and the sushi tastes fresh and great. Their Chinese food is large portions, especially for dinner. Lots of options here as well. I’ve had the beef and broccoli, honey chicken(which has a sweet but tangy sauce), orange chicken, fried rice(which is huge!), and more. I love their hot & sour soup. So much flavor and thickness. Their food is hot, flavorful, tasty, and exceeds expectations. They also have something called a Bento Box, which allows you to get a soup, cali roll, appetizer, and then pick 2 options for like $ 16. They have Groupons online sometimes, which are helpful. You can also order online at home and they either deliver or you can pick it up and it’ll be ready when you get there. If you use Eat24, it’ll save you some money, too. They have great service, and when you become a regular, they recognize you and your order! ;) Only once, in my many years of eating here, did I have a server who was new and slow. They may look like a small establishment, but inside is really nice and they will take care of you.

Love this place. Fast, attentive and cheerful :) great food too ;) It’s a little hidden, but good location. Nice atmosphere with some TVs at the bar. Decent priced alcohol helps too :) Definitely recommend for dates and sushi!

The menu is all over Asia – Thai, Chinese, Japanese, etc. Food was good! I had Szechuan tofu with brown rice and salmon sushi, also stir-fried veggies. Veggies were cooked just right – not too hard nor soft. Seasoning level was good, not too oily or salty either.

Been here a few times and honestly I’m still not sure what to make of it. First two times the sushi was great: the Crazy Dragon Roll and the Valentine roll were really good with flavors coming through and not a lot of superfluous sauce. Other notables are the Monkey roll and the Ultimate roll. One I’d pass on completely is the Snow Mountain. The last time I showed up the most interesting thing consumed was actually coconut sake. I was a little dubious of flavored sake but… I was delightfully surprised. Ironically it’s a little darker than expected given its moniker but the staff is nice, so I’m sure I’ll take another trip at sometime in the future.

Sun Café could best be described as an eclectic mix of Asian cuisine. Their menu is quite large, and is kind of overwhelming at first glance. It’s a good blend of Japenese, Chinese, and Thai, and it really has a little something for everyone. My wife and I went on a Sunday evening, and while they were a little bit busy, we were able to find a nice quiet booth. We started off with the Spider Rolls as an appetizer, the soft shell crab was cooked to crispy perfection(see pic). I got the shashimi dinner, and everything was on point and was very fresh. My wife ordered the Singapore Noodles(of which I snagged several bites). My meal wasn’t bad, but I honestly can’t stop thinking about those noodles. I would highly recommend these if you like yellow curry, and definitely ask for it be kicked up a few notches! Bottom Line: Go. Take a date. Enjoy. 4.25 stars.

Sun Café had to be the best place to get«American Chinese» food in town! The prices are fair and you always have leftovers. People love their sushi, but I don’t eat it. The best item on the menu had to be General Tso’s! Their chicken is simply that, chicken. It’s not chunks of fat or batter. They cut their chicken into strips and the spring rolls are to die for! :) The atmosphere is nice, quiet, and low-lit. The interior is much nicer than it’s «strip mall» exterior!

Dodging the lunch crowd and the gusty winds today, hubby and I decided to find cover and use one of our Groupons here for lunch. We’ve visited this establishment a number of times in the past and have been pleased w an average 5-star rating experience w the food, staff, ambiance, and everything else when it comes to eating out. However, I am disappointed to go against the grain today. Our norm off the lunch menu is one entrée(various pricing averaging $ 7 – 11) and their 3 sushi rolls for $ 11. Today we both opted for entrees instead — the General Tso’s Chicken($ 8) and the Thai Red Curry w Chicken($ 8). Food was deeeelicious! Portions were just enough to fill us up and not have anything leftover. And we don’t regret our choices. However, I can not rate the setting the same. What prompts a 3-star rating was the level of cleanliness. The booth(1st/closest to the entrance) we sat in had very sticky floors that you could hear the bottom soles of our shoes snap every time we moved our feet. 8/Gross! Did someone forget to mop under the tables recently? That was not acceptable. Additionally, the carefully wrapped utensils had a spoon obviously soiled by a former patron and not thoroughly cleaned by the washer. Not acceptable at all in my book! And the last negative during todays visit were the eye-sore chips on each of our white rectangle-shaped plates. And I’m not talking about a tiny chip. One was at least ¼″ and the other ½″ on the sides where one could easily cut themselves. Should this be acceptable or was this just poor judgment by management to allow continued use of damaged plates? In either case, it’s unacceptable in my book and should be unacceptable to those who get served at any restaurant establishment. We’ve enjoyed the food we’ve had here in past visits, including today. On the other hand, we are disappointed w the uncleanliness and damaged plates our food was served on in todays lunch visit., unacceptable and falls short of a 5-star or even a 4-star. If it wasn’t for the food, I would have given this a 1-star rating.

I give ‘em four and a half. Nice small Chinese Restaurant. Kind of upscale, with relaxing Oriental music playing. Looks better inside than outside. Our waitress, Emily, was very good, and friendly. Very good food, and meals are big enough to split. We’ll be back.
