This is a cool little mini franchise chain that’s serving up Hawaiian food in a fast casual setting. Place your semi-customized order at the counter, take a number, and wait for your food to be brought out. I went with the rice bowl. Half chicken, half Pork, rumbi rice(rice cooked in coconut milk) and a spicy peanut sauce. I loved it! It was the perfect antidote to a week of greasy food found at other restaurants. The chicken was tender, the pork juicy, the rice nice and creamy due to that coconut milk, and the grilled veggies just made it all the better. The spicy peanut sauce is served mostly on the side, so you can decide how healthy you want to be. I thought the spicy peanut kick was delicious, so I applied liberally. This is an awesome idea that’s well executed, and I hope one opens near me soon. I’d be a very regular customer.

Amazing, they gave us a free desert just cause it was out first time. The owner came out and walked us through the menu. We got the rice bowls. 10⁄10 for sure coming back cause this place rocks.

I have to give this little place 5 stars. I walked in not knowing what to expect and was delighted by what I found in the parking lot of a strip mall! Immaculately clean. Staff looked top notch and acted professional from behind the counter. Food selections were great and on trend. Tropical style bowls and burgers were a hit for me and my family. The sauces had flavor and the meat was seasoned well. We will be going back! Delicious. Thank you for serving yummy food.

I wanted to like this place, I really did. But I could not find myself giving this place more than 2 stars. I am a fan of the fast casual places like this, and typically«island food» as this place states is high on that list. I ordered the luau pork, with noodles and the mac and slaw it comes with, as well as an order of the rumbi fries. The pork and the teriyaki sauce were forgettable to say the least, really didn’t stand out or even go all that well together. What was really disappointing to me was the noodles. Typically with an asian/islands fusion place you’d expect a fried noodle or thicker noodle like chow mein, but no not here. The noodles were actually just spaghetti, much to my disappointment, with no «island» to them at all. Honestly looked like someone went across the lot to Target and bought a pack of spaghetti to throw into the menu. I’m sorry, adding green onions and carrot slivers to spaghetti doesn’t make it more exciting or better tasting. The rumbi fries were ok, and they say these are half sweet potato half regular, I’d say the ratio is close to 10 regular to 1 sweet potato, I had to kind of dig out the sweet potato fries. Even then, they were regrettably forgetable like the rest of the meal. Ontop of all of that, prices here seem a little high for what you get. I paid close to 16 $ for that, plus a drink. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing, and should give them another shot. But first impressions are always strong, and this meal definitely isn’t swaying me back anytime soon. Give it a shot at your own risk!

Great place. One of our favorites. Not really Hawaiian. More of a Asian tropical fusion thing. Everything I’ve tried is great. My favorites are the Rice bowls and Aloha Tacos. Fish tacos are great too. Clean and friendly. What’s not to love?

Relatively quick, tasty option with a clean location. I came here just trying to find the closest place for lunch, thinking this wouldn’t be too bad, and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I had the full-sized rice bowl with half chicken and half vegetables with the spicy teriyaki sauce. I’m immediately happier when I have the option of brown rice when I’m eating out, so we were off to a positive start. The bowl was huge, pretty darn tasty, and it wasn’t too expensive, to boot. With the half chicken and half vegetables, I got the veggies I like in my meals, and I got plenty of chicken. I probably would’ve been just fine with the half-sized bowl, but I ate most of the full-sized bowl nonetheless. The sauce was tasty, too. A lot of teriyaki sauces are way too thick and sweet, this one was just right. Edit: On a subsequent visit, I tried the rice bowl with half pork and half vegetables with a different sauce. The sauce was pretty tasty, but the pork was the star. It was really good and in my opinion is the better option over the chicken. The people with me had the fish tacos and a chicken salad. Both were large services and pretty tasty, from what they said. I sampled their fries, and they were hot and crispy. I’ll definitely go back to Rumbi when I’m in the mood for this kind of food(i.e., decent chain food that is healthy enough and fast«slow food»); I hope that their other locations are as good as this one.

My wife and I had a really great experience here. It was our first time and the manager helped us figure out what was good. We both ended up getting the chicken teriyaki bowl which was really great. The general manager Kate was great and made sure we were taken care of for our first time. Really glad they got us in there with their buy one get one coupon we found on our car, their bowls are delicious. We will be back for sure. Also try the chips with mango salsa. We couldn’t stop stuffing our faces. We also had some left food left over just getting the regular sized bowls.

Rumbi is a great place to go for a quick lunch. Not really«fast» food, but faster and more casual than a traditional sit down place. I love it because I can get brown rice, grilled chicken, veggies and sauce on the side. It’s a healthy alternative for me, yet still has burgers and chicken nuggets for my picky daughter. As an added bonus, I have a value card my kids were selling at school that allows my daughter to eat free! So, for $ 10 and change we both get lunch! Much cheaper than mcdonalds and much better for you! We will be back often!

I’ve been here twice and got the teriyaki chicken bowl both times. So delicious. The manager Kate is also awesome and made sure we had a good first time! Their chips and salsa(it’s like a mango salsa) are also absolutely delicious.

Here’s a tip for ya. DONOTORDERTHEMACANDCHEESE! The food was so so. My boyfriends hamburger was cold and the mac and cheese was just macaroni noodles in a macaroni salad dressing. Completely disappointed.

I gave this place a try five times. I really wanted to love it, but it’s just not that great. It feels too expensive for what you get. The first time we went, we didn’t really know the drill. I told the gal taking our order that we hadn’t been there before, and she still acted like we should just know how it all worked. There was confusion over the apple juice my son ordered, and when I asked(after waiting) the gal rudely pointed to the front case of juice boxes and rolled her eyes. We gave them a few more chances and after the major order screw up the last one, I just decided it wasn’t worth it. We won’t be back.

This place is pretty good. We got the kahuna burger, luau pork sandwich, the sweet potato fries are crispy. The price was a little high in my opinion($ 16 for our meal) but the food was fresh and tasty which I think is the redeeming aspect of the place. I would say 3.5 stars would be an accurate rating. There are definitely worse places to eat. This was good and quick service. A nice fast filling meal.

This is a really great place to go if you’re looking for something completely different, at least different than what you can find in Idaho Falls. The food isn’t «top notch,» but I’d rate it about the same as most of the higher-rated sit-down places. The fish tacos aren’t fried, they’re sort of a poached white-fish in soft corn shells, topped off with a delicious pico de gallo, which I thought was a refreshing twist on the traditional fish taco. The Rumbi rice has a nice coconut flavor, with red beans, and firm grains of jasmine rice. My only complaint is the salsa. Mango salsa SHOULDN’T be suspended in a tomato base, it ruins the sweetness of the mango, and changes the flavor to more of a savory than a sweet. Mango salsa should be tossed in a lemon or a lime juice with a red pepper, such as a red poblano or habanero, if you’re looking for a kick, some minced red onion, and a sprinkling of cilantro. Rumbi’s salsa was bad, on the verge of offensive. Improve your salsa, please. If you like, I can give you a better recipe for mango salsa.

Why does this place have such high ratings? It’s not bad, but it’s not great by any means, either. It’s pretty overpriced, and my husband’s rice bowl and my pineapple curry weren’t exactly big portions, either. Due to my pregnancy, I can’t eat very big portions without getting sick, but I finished my meal here with no problem. My biggest problem? My curry had cheap spaghetti noodles in it. Spaghetti in curry?! I don’t think so. Typically you get rice with curry dishes, but when the menu said it had noodles in it, I figured they must be rice noodles or something, so I went for it. The curry sauce itself was okay, but the problem with spaghetti noodles are that they don’t absorb sauce, which you really need when it comes to curry. Otherwise, you’re just eating noodles and have a puddle of sauce at the bottom of the bowl. Also, the pineapple was the tiny little canned slivers. I mean, at least use the bigger canned chunks to make it look a little less cheap. My husband’s rice bowl was okay, but nothing special. Basically a handful of veggies & meat over lots of rice with some soy sauce thrown on top. So $ 17 for that and my spaghetti & curry puddle was pretty disappointing.
