my brother suggested this place to take our mother for mother’s day since she is a BBQ lover. I wasn’t sure it would measure up to other places we had went to, but I was willing to give it a try… OMG!!! The food was absolutely awesome. I ordered a sampler platter to kind of get a taste for all of their meats… anyone who knows me, knows I cannot STAND chicken breast meat… it is usually dry and tough… not bandanas. I actually for the first time in life, ate the breast meat and it was so tender and juicy… the BBQ was so delicious and tender… the fried okra was good and I loved the sweet corn. my only heartbreak is there weren’t any real desserts to finish off the meal. but that was easy to recover from… and some previous posts of customers complained about the portions… I can’t even complain about that cause they hooked a sista up!!! my platter was absolutely filling!!! loved every bite. the staff were nice as well, they even took pictures of my mom for us on her special day!!! I will definately be going back… i wish it wasn’t located on noland rd in missouri… I hate missouri, but i’ll risk it for this place!!!

Worst bbq joint I’ve been to. The food was mediocre. The servings were tiny. I get 3x the meat at any other bbq place. Will not go back ever. And will discourage anyone from going if asked my opinion.

I can’t get over how good their chicken is(dark meat, white is a little dry). Sauces are on the table, you add which one(s) you want. Green bean side is excellent. There are restaurants that specialize in chicken that don’t serve chicken this good. Whenever I’m in the area and have time and money I go here. Never had a bad meal yet.

food was good, it was nice and quiet and the waitress was nice and prompt. the bar b q sauce was actually pretty good especially the sweet and spicy sauce. nice portions, food was hot, but the only thing was that the place looked kind of run down.

Absolutely fantastic and the staff are also, the ribs well you need to just come and try them there smoking hot. Debbie was my server and she was so cute and very helpful as it was my first time.

Bandanas is the kind of barbecue place that you go to because it’s close and not horrible, not because it’s a great place to get barbecue. I went here once, and I would say it’s your average suburban BBQ joint. They’re not really known for anything, but you can get meat fast, so that’s a plus. The location itself is rather large — there’s a lot of seating and parking. Every platter and meat comes with a side of very generic Texas toast. This is the kind of bread that was frozen befor hand, so I can’t really say it’s worth the carbs whatsoever. The barbecue itself was fine, but the ability to serve so many people sacrifices the ability to make really quality barbecue. The sides all seemed pretty frozen to me, especially the fried okra. In general, it’s so easy to make fried okra even in large quantities, so I can’t really recommend a place that can even take the time to make real okra. Overall, there’s not something overly objectionable about Bandanas, it’s just one more option in the suburbs.

Bandana’s dark meat chicken is HEAVENLY. Side dishes are great. My favorite BBQ anywhere. Reasonably priced. One of the best values in the KC Metro. Easy to find, SW corner of I-70 and Noland Rd, just off the exit ramp.

Pretty average BBQ, I was expecting better for the location. However, this seemed to be the typical BBQ you can get anywhere in the country, not specifically Kansas City. It’s a good spot to take kids, but not necessarily a memorable BBQ experience. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, it was more of a convenient pit stop.

Had the pork and beef platter. Side of applesauce and sweet corn and garlic bread. The pork was over cooked and dry. Sauces were ehhh, and the worst was the KC sauce. SAC re Bleu. And the applesauce? Wtf? I think it was out of a jar. Had potential but fails at most. Very disappointing.

We stayed at a hotel nearby, and Bandanas was recommended as a good place to eat. Maybe it was just too late(around 8 pm on a Friday night), but the pork was dry, the homemade applesauce is NOT homemade, and they were out of baked potatoes. Also, what kind of barbeque place has only one kind of ribs? Having said that, our server was pleasant and the service was great.

Everyone thinks I’m crazy for going HERE when I live in the BBQ capital lol, but for me nothing compares to Bandanas. This is by far my favorite place to get bbq, has been for several years. I just feel thankful there’s one here in Kansas City! I get the same exact thing every single time so I’d highly recommend it; Turkey plate with Fries and Coleslaw with Sweet & Smoky sauce and of course a glass of sweet tea ~ Enjoy!

Truthfully, I wasn’t expecting much. I hadn’t been in about 5 years and I couldn’t remember anything about it. Well, I got a sausage platter with fried okra and fries. Virtually every plate comes with Texas toast. Barbeque sausage Is hard to find in the Midwest, from my experience. It was delicious! Everyone in my group was happy with their food. Our waitress was very very nice and gave my grandma a gift when she heard it was her birthday. Not better then Jack stack, but… Good.

We had pulled pork(great, very little fat), corn(delicious and not overcooked), okra(delicious and not greasy), beans(yum) and tater salad(also yum). The staff was friendly, gave us lots of sauces for our to-go order(my fave was the st. Louis style), and we enjoyed it very much!

Went there for lunch. Food was ok. Meat was cooked well but the sauces were just ok. Service was great. There are some healthy options.

Delicious chicken and pork platters! Sides of fries, slaw, beans, sweet corn, and garlic bread paired well and all 5 sauces are worth trying(even the spicy one, coming from a guy with low tolerance to spicy). The garlic bread pieces were huge, and even the portions were big enough to fill! Four stars only because service was slow, though I think that was an isolated event rather than a consistent issue

Will never return. Don’t say will be ready in ten minutes of you really mean 1 hr and then get rude with me saying there’s a lot of tickets. Total wt work here but what do you expect its independence.

Yuck. This is some of the worst barbecue I’ve ever tasted in my life this place must not be from Kansas City because it takes like nothing else in the city.

having lived in St. Louis for over 3 years I had become all to familiar with Bandanas. Not many BBQ choices in St. Louis so this place was a convenient quick fix when I had the craving. Bandanas had never really hit the spot but rather always left me wanting real BBQ from KC, so I didn’t expect much. Here is a breakdown of my experience: Ordered online, when I arrived for pickup it didn’t appear they knew about my order but were able to quickly get it together. I had the 2 mean combo w/sausage and ribs. Sausage was pretty standard, I doubt they make themselves but it wasn’t the worst I had. The ribs were probably a few days old. Very dry and tough. The sauce they use on the ribs reminds me of some generic store bought garbage like bullseye or something of that nature. I had fries beans and brunswick stew for my sides. Fries were pretty stock. Beans were pretty bland and had a strange taste like they had been scorched. The stew was absolutely horrid. If you’re in KC you really should do yourself a favor and get real BBQ. I live here and know better than to eat at this place. I wont make that mistake again.

Ugh, we were hapless passersby on a road trip, and made the mistake of coming in here. Our goal was to hit up a barbecue joint in ever city where we stopped for a meal, from Georgia to California. This was by far the worst experience we had in our journey. The service was excruciatingly slow, despite the fact that the restaurant was mostly empty. The food was mediocre at best. Portions were OK, but the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. I guess it’s OK for a family restaurant, but if you have a yin for BBQ, or just an enjoyable dining experience, I would keep looking.

We finally decided to try this place! We ordered the BBQ chicken nachos as our appetizer, those were AWESOME!!! My husband & I shared the full slab of ribs, they were good! Our sides were baked beans, potato salad. Thee baked beans were really good, the potato salad was, meh. The staff were very friendly. This place is ok.
