Second visit in about 3 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. Large crowd especially today, New Years day, about 20minute wait today but very organized and moves quick. Staff is very friendly and efficient although busy very organized and the same goes for kitchen. As a semi retired chef from New Orleans I was very impressed watching the kitchen in action, they have an open kitchen and are very visible, even with a full room and line waiting no confusion on the line everyone is doing his job quietly and efficiently and food, nicely presented, is quick to come out. Nice size menu with many healthy choices, coffee is good and strong and pot is put on table so u can refill when you want. The two meals I had were BLT Benedict, it came with beautiful side salad of mixed greens, and the Acapulco Express omelet with Chorizo sausage, green chilies, avocado, 2 cheeses, onion and salsa on side and includes English muffin and potatoes, both dishes were excellent and the skillet hashes also look good. Lunch/brunch style options also available but haven’t tried those yet but plan to return many more times.

Cinnamon pancakes are delicious but their waffles are just so-so, not much consistency and way to much sugar for a plain waffle. Coffee was just alright.

Great menu, awesome food and super staff. It can get very busy and with that comes a long wait time. Price you pay for a great place.

One of the classiest diners in town! Great staff. Unusual menu for a diner. Slick and upscale but not expensive. I loved my fancy waffle. Might have to wait a bit for a table.

One of my favorite breakfast spots! Tons of healthy dishes, always cooked perfectly, excellent service as well. I recently had the breakfast tacos, not on the menu but one of their rotations specials chalked on the board. Place reminds me of an ihop on steroids, with much better, healthier dishes, and same prices! I’ve been to this location and the location downtown many times. Never disappoints!

We have eaten at this restaurant multiple times. Food is always well prepared and service is very professional and friendly. You can eat healthy here or you can have awesome pancakes and slab bacon. One of our favorite Independence locations.

We are true regulars. Came in with a crowd today and Crystal took awesome care of us. This is my favorite breakfast spot in the area. Food was speedy and delicious. Try the kale tonic — kale, Apple and cucumber and lemon. We ordered two avocado, bacon and tomato hashes– really great. The trifecta, kids French toast and the triathlete. The triathlete was delicious — egg white omelette, fruit and toast(add butter). Of course we will be back!

I went to eat at this location and got food poisoning! I believe the eggs were bad but I had a sinus infection at the time so I couldn’t smell.

Fresh food, healthy options, proper portions, friendly staff. A breath of fresh air against routine breakfast and brunch fare.

Never a bad meal here! Our server, Todd, is a very affable individual. It’s fun to see him interact with other tables, and you can DEFINITELY spot who his regulars are! This place is top notch. No muss, no fuss. Not a lot a complicated items on menu. Breakfast and lunch only; keeps it simple!

One of my favorite places for bunch! Always crowded on the weekends and holidays but the wait usually goes quickly. Everything on the menu is delicious but one of my favs is the Floridian French Toast, so deliciously sweet and topped with the most amazing fresh fruit. If you are looking for something more savory they have some amazing omelets as well. My fav is the Bacado omelet with sour cream and salsa with a side of fruit, yum! You can also get it made with egg whites for a healthier option. Can’t go wrong with any of it, the food is fresh and yummy!

Consistent, high quality food served by incredibly friendly folks! Be sure to check out the seasonal menu which feature the tastes of the season(request whipped cream for your pumpkin pancakes during the autumn!). It’s nearly impossible to go wrong with whatever you order and the staff is happy to modify menu items to meet your tastes and/or dietary restraints. While any of the staff is exceptional, ask for Rudy or Amanda.

Some different menu choices including a large selection of healthy choices. I opted however for for a Cajon omelet with home fries.

Nice restaurant. Ordered Bubbas Benny: sausage, gravy biscuit. It was delish but could use more seasoning.

I’ve eaten at three of the KC First Watch locations, primarily at the Independence restaurant. I’ve had consistently good food and service at all three. Sure, it can get a little hectic at peak times, but they seem to do a good job of dealing with it. I debated between 4 and 5 stars on this one. It’s very, very good and you can do a lot worse for a breakfast out with some friends or family. Unilocal needs to let us rate things with half stars. If you could give a 4.5, I would. Light years better than Denny’s, Perkins, IHOP, et cetera. If there had been dancing bears, I got a tan while eating, or walked out of the restaurant magically speaking a new language, I’d have bumped to to 5 stars. :)

I debated between 5 stars and 4 stars. First of all there are tons of things on the menu I’ll never order, but tons of things I will again and again… so, 4 stars it is. Starting out, I don’t like to eat breakfast out, not at all. When I do, it’s usually a McGriddle(sorry, but I do chains). So, enter First Watch. I found this one the other day while checking out a salon. My mom’s birthday is today, and my first thoughts about First Watch, low key, boring, Perkins style menu. My error. First Watch is low key, but the menu, atleast the pancake part, isn’t. I had a double stack of carrot cake pancakes. I found them perfect. Oh, they are huge, the size of a serving platter. They melt in your mouth. There are raisins and cinnamon, with grated carrots with butter. They serve pancake syrup, and sugarless syrup. For $ 1.29 you can get 100% maple syrup, which isn’t necessary. I also ordered their seasoned potatoes. I would go there every day for those potatoes, Don’t be surprised, I would actually do this. Cubed, and fried with onions, and browned and served on a plate. There were plenty and they, them and of themselves, are worth a daily trip. I found the service more than outstanding. Unfortunately, I found the rest of the menu full of eggs and gravy, salads I’d never eat, sandwiches I’ve not learned to get a taste for, and soup. I’ve never liked soup. There is a couple of other things, a veggie burger and a cheeseburger… this is why the 4 stars. The inside looks odd. At first I didn’t care for it, but what ever. If I were to only judge on potatoes, pancakes and service, it’d be 5 stars.
