Their breakfast bagels are the best and their ice blended drinks are bomb. Definitely coming back!

the almond croissant was hefty, but it had good chew/crunch to the croissant. and happily enough(you’d be surprised by the fact that it’s not standard), there were lots of almonds and almond paste, mmmmmm. the pistachio muffin was unnaturally bright green. the biggest problem was that it tasted more like almond than pistachio, and i think there were walnuts inside hahah. yummy, but not really a pistachio muffin. but did i mention that the muffin top was wondrously crunchy? we also got a sunrise on sesame, which consisted of a well-toasted sesame bagel with cheddar, bacon and egg. it was tasty and heartier than other things. 3 stars. will be coming back if i ever need a little bakery breakfast!

Great place for coffee and pastries. Regularly grab coffee and something sweet here and I’m never disappointed. Cream cheese croissant and strawberry & cream cheese croissant are delicious! 100x better than going to a crowded Starbucks.

I came here for the first time recently and really enjoyed it! Everything from the cute pastries, to the grab and go section made it enjoyable. I had the Soy Latte and the California Bagel Sandwich. Everything was delicious, the eggs weren’t greasy which was amazing because most bagel sandwiches I’ve had have contained greasy eggs. Anyway, the latte came up fast as well, and everything in there was clean and organized. They have a great selection of breakfast pastries and cakes/cupcakes/macarons. It’s located in a little center in Irvine with great parking. I will be back.

I have been to Irvine Java Café. They have very good Turkish coffee, and they serve it with a complimentary baklava or Turkish delight.

Consistely good coffee and a particularly friendly staff. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and reasonably priced. I bring my 2 year old daughter here for lunch on occasion because we live within walking distance and they have great kids meal options at a good price. They also have a wide variety of fresh baked goods including bread loaves which I buy from time to time.

They got nice vegetarian options, I had to wait a few minutes for my sandwich, but it was well worth it! The ingredients were fresh, and the coffee was pretty good. The only thing I have to complain about is that they are really understaffed. It’s not a place to go in a hurry to get coffee.

Is that the smell of organic, fair-trade coffee? You bet it is, and the one I would whole-heartedly recommend is the slow-drip cold brew. If that’s not enough to ai you over, they have a strong showing of delicious pastries and some rather convincing sandwiches. I’ve tried a good part of the menu by now, and have yet to find an item that I don’t like. The staff is awesome. If their rather small onsite seating area is full — worry not, for they have blankets to keep you warm at the outside seating area… in, you know, harsh, 70 °F California winters. Highly recommend this place.

Haven’t been here in a year, I do remember the coffee & pastries tasting good. Unfortunately today wasn’t the same experience. The turkey club sandwich was good but their German cheese cake was not. It seemed like they were left uncovered overnight in the fridge and they hope no one would notice their nasty fridge taste. To make sure it wasn’t me I tasted my daughter’s too. I immediately gave it back. The staff was nice to give me a refund… not sure if I’ll come back.

Extremely rude woman behind the counter to take orders. Should have walked out. Will never be back.

This place has the yummiest bagel sandwich… Order the Gourmet Bagel Sandwich with a Jalapeño cheese bagel! It’s to die for!!! Ok, maybe not worth actually losing your own life, but good enough that I stop by and have one at least once a week! :-P

Called just this morning and I was told by the headquarters location that I wasn’t able to place a single delivery order because they were short on staff and had a catering order to do? How is that my concern or problem. That should be yours as business. So much for trying to get new customers. Was really looking forward to trying this place. Im afraid after this poor representation of their business ethic, my relatives and friend’s as well as I, won’t attempt to order from here again given my experience with this place.

They have real apple juice ask them the fresh one.(4 apples for one cup of apple just) price is a little bit high. Puffs and coconut cake there taste good. But one time brought a bread is hard and sour(forgot the name) taste bad:( Other things are ok.

A little pricey but they have a stellar vanilla latte and great, fresh sandwiches. We came here early one Sunday morning after having lived down the street for almost 8 years. I can’t believe we had never been here before but we had admittedly fallen in to the Starbucks rut. They’ve got an assortment of muffins(the chocolate chip one is practically a dessert), breakfast sandwiches, and drinks. We enjoyed our breakfast sandwiches and loved that you can get them on croissants instead of bagels. We obviously didn’t try them that morning but their custom cakes look fantastic — I can’t wait to try them! Would definitely recommend and definitely return.

Friendly service. Okay chicken salad sandwhich. Coffee seems watered down. I’ll go again and try a different item maybe then I’ll feel the«wow factor».

I stopped into Java after lunch and noticed it was busy. People were sitting inside and out and I had to wait in line behind a couple of people. I am giving three stars for now because the coffee was okay. I prefer a stronger tasting coffee and found the coffee of the day at Java to be on the weaker side. However, I really really like the pumpkin scone that I got to go with my coffee. It wasn’t too sweet and had the right spices with enough pumpkin flavor. I plan to come again because they have other baked goods that looked delicious. Also, the sizes of their pastries are pretty good — larger than average.

I love breakfast and I love little cafes. This place seemed to cater to both quite nicely. First off, the good. We ordered the«Sunrise» sandwich(mine on a croissant and my boyfriends on a jalapeño and cheese bagel). The sandwiches were reasonably priced and hit the spot. The bakery also offers cookies, macaroons, and other baked goods. All in all, it was $ 11 for two breakfast sandwiches and a large coffee. Not bad for feeding two people. We came just after the breakfast rush so perhaps we got there at a bad time. After ordering bacon on our sandwiches, we were told that it was no longer available. I think this held our order up a lot because I swear plenty of people who came after us got their food and left before we were served ours. I understand things happen and it wasn’t a huge deal. But still, it would have been nice to have gotten what we ordered in a more timely fashion. All in all, I’d be willing to give it another chance. I just hope there is more bacon next time. :)

It just says free WiFi but they really don’t have any WiFi hosted themselves. They ask you to connect to the university guest WiFi which doesn’t actually work. Cold brew coffee was good as well as breakfast bagels but a bit pricey.

No business sense here, they go out of their way to nickel and dime customers. When they first took over as new ownership they wouldn’t recognize the ongoing frequent coffee drinker cards — 10 drinks for a free drink. Made you start over, great way to open up a new restaurant. Now they have started charging $ 0.50 for a coffee refill. NOBODYCHARGESFOR A REFILL!!! The extra coffee must cost them less that 5 cents per cup. As a result my friends and I who had been coming to this location for years, will no longer patronize them. Loss of at least $ 30 per week over a few cents in revenues for refills. One other issue I had with this place was that they were charging over 10% for sales tax. I told the manager and nothing happened. Only after I filed a complaint with the Board of Equalization was the rate adjusted down to the correct 8% value.

Their French roast is awesome. Pastries are great too. And it has local quieter feel for reading a book or studying. I met a couple guys there who were reading philosophy and we had a great conversation.
