Oh damn we are in SMARCH already. Time flies… anyways this was the last place in that food court I hadn’t tried yet so let me just fill up the monopoly board. I came through because I was too lazy to drive to my sushi place at work so I figured neh sushi here works too. It was ok and I’ll give y’all an E for Effort. It was decent. I saw a couple of other items but I’m just not a fan. I see lots of people eating here though so it can’t be bad. I’ll give an A for the customer service though. Very nice friendly and all that good stuff. They truly value your business. Oh on a sidenote my buddy really likes the Terayki chicken here(says it is really good, smells good). Just an FYI

There aren’t many food courts located around this part of Irvine. Food is relatively cheap but for what you get and the small portion, I would say it’s not worth it. I got the skimpy portion of beef teriyaki(with NO substitution, noodles for rice), and udon soup. Bill came out to a total of almost $ 20. Sheesh, for food from a food court, that’s pretty pricey. Food was decent. I think it bothered me that my beef teriyaki came out in a bowl that wasn’t even full, it was half full and all looked unappetizing. It looked like someone had eaten half of it before I got it. Would come here again, but I might as well go to a full blown Japanese restaurant because of the price/quality.

Stopped in for lunch today and felt like some good ol chicken and rice. Decided to try this place out since pictures displayed looked decent. For $ 7 you can get a small chicken teriyaki bowl and a small salad. Emphasize small. The service was extremely prompt and friendly however the food was not up to par. The small salad was just iceberg lettuce, a couple cubes of tomatoes and drenched in watery thousand island sauce. The chicken bowl was very cheaply made. The teriyaki sauce and the chicken was just ok. Probably won’t be trying this spot again.

Yes, I agree with Nathan. The food was not that good and expensive. That’s why I don’t go anymore. I did a few times with a co-worker who thought it was good, but I thought it was eh… And I don’t think the people behind the counter are Japanese, but they are Asian at least the last time I went there which was years ago.

Highly recommend this place. It’s in a food court but tastes so high in quality and I love their chicken teriyaki bowl. Even better than flame broiler. I just love this place. Definitely will be back here once a week.

Ordered chicken teriyaki bowl that comes with a bowl of salad. Quick service but mediocre food. The teriyaki sauce was bad. It was too sweet. The salad was meh!

I needed to run an errand in this shopping center and decided to give this place a try. I had a large lunch item as I planned on having half of it for dinner(which I did). It came with your basic soup, a nice sized salad, a California roll, shrimp and vegetable tempura and chicken teriyaki and rice. The salad was decent with a sweet but light dressing. The CA roll was standard but decent. The tempura was okay as well but the chicken teriyaki was awful as was the rice. It had this really weird taste that I can’t put my finger on it. Will likely not go back(except to grab sushi to go if in the area again) because the two women that work the counter were very friendly and sweet. Still trying to find decent chicken teriyaki in the OC!

This is your basic American/Japanese place for lunch. Nothing earth shattering here– bunch of prepackaged sushi and combo plates that you can find at any of the ubiquitous places like this. Order the combo plate and you’ll get a lot of food for your money– chicken, cali roll, tempura with shrimp, miso soup, salad and rice. you know the story.

I walk by this place everyday and have always wanted to try it out. Went to the dentist last night so I figured soup was the way to go. I ordered an udon bowl with chicken, egg and tempura shrimp to go. Total price was $ 9.71.The food came out fast and the two women at the counter were very friendly. The portions were huge and they do not skimp on the toppings(veggies, chicken etc.) I enjoyed the tempura shrimp but the broth was kind of bland. I was sort of disappointed by the lack of flavor in the soup. I felt like it was missing something… Maybe spice? Or soy sauce? Not sure.

Eating my katsu curry as I write and I’m not enjoying it. Since I ordered takeout, I thought common sense would be to pack the curry separately since Japanese curry dries up quick. But no, they had the curry on top of the fried chicken and it caked up like mash potato. Can’t really spread it on the rice and it’s too salty on the chicken. Sigh. I had to scrape the curry cake off and reconstitute it. Ugh so horrible.

I went here last week with a friend for lunch. It was my first time here. It’s located in a neat little food court. Keeping in mind that this is a quick little lunch spot, i thought it was decent. The service is excellent. They also have a limited choice of sushi rolls. Food: Teriyaki Chicken Bowl(Small) — I elected to get the small size because the large could feed an army or just someone who is really hungry i suppose. The chicken was real, a little on the dry side, but overall pretty yummy. It came with steamed broccoli and carrots on a bed of rice. Their teriyaki sauce is pretty bomb. If you need a quick lunch fix and you’re around the area it’s probably worth a stop. *****(5 Stars) — Amazing, zero flaws, a must go!(Not given often) ****(4 Stars) — Memorable, strongly feel you should visit ***(3 Stars) — Above average, worth a visit **(2 Stars) — Average, some pro’s and some con’s *(1 Star) — Opinion is do not go, below average

I’ve gotten so used to Flamebroiler that I forgot what real teriyaki bowls taste like! This is like a million times better than Flamebroiler/popular teriyaki bowl places. Their sauce is deeelicious! Their bowls are pretty cheap and they have combos that come with soup or a small california roll. They also have spicy tuna rolls that you can buy. It’s located in the food court near where Renzo’s Taste of Peru used to be. Lunch lines are definitely long, but they usually bring out the food pretty fast.

I got the donkatsu and the portions were good for the price. The lady who took my order was very friendly and our food came out pretty quick. I’ve had some places who serve the donkatsu with very thin slices of pork in which the batter takes up most of the katsu, but this place had a pretty good ratio of batter to pork. So far so good, but I’d like to try some of the other dishes here.

I had a combo plate with miso soup, salad, teriyaki chicken, tempura, and california roll. Of these, the only thing that was decent was the california roll. Everything else was pretty bad. I’ve had much better fast food japanese for $ 7 instead of $ 9

I had lunch here today and got the small teriyaki chicken bowl w/4pcs of california rolls. Price is really good here(pretty cheap compared to the other japanese fast food restaurants around the area). The teriyaki bowl was filling and delicious! You can get a large bowl for a couple dollars more. The california roll was okay. The lady who took my order was super friendly! =) The place is in a small food court(Plams Food Court) that only has 4 other fast food joints open there. I would recommend people to get the teriyaki bowl. I’m planning to go back to try other dishes. =)

I came here for lunch today because all of the people in my office were raving about it. So, I decided to check it out. I mean, you can never really go wrong with Japanese. I end up ordering the Teriyaki Chicken bowl with soda for just under $ 7. After biting into it for the first time, I definitely got bang for my buck. The chicken was very bland and they drenched it with teriyaki sauce, but the thing was, the teriyaki sauce tasted like it came out of a bottle and warmed up in the microwave. Where is the authenticity? But, whatever. For the price, you definitely get what you pay for. They have other items there including sushi, but you can tell that it was store bought. Their california rolls and«sushi» comes in a plastic black container with a clear plastic top with wasabi and ginger packaged in it chilling over ice. So, if you are expecting to get sushi with your teri bowl, you are getting store bought. Just don’t do it! Would I come back? Maybe, just because it is right across the street and for the price you pay for it, I guess i shouldn’t complain, but then how would I Unilocal it?

This place is tucked into the Food Court of the plaza. Two Korean women here work the front, Sue and Suzuki, and they are always friendly and nice. The food here is reasonably priced too, I normally get a small chicken bowl which comes out to $ 4.90 after taxes. It normally fills you up but you can upgrade to a bigger bowl for a buck or two more. The quality of the meat is average and sometimes the chicken is overcooked. What I really like about this place is the rice quality. It’s always fluffy, dense, and consistent. If you order a soda you can get free re-fills. This place is really efficient, especially during the lunch rush. You’re in and out in less then three minutes. Parking is a breeze. Most people just walk here since it’s in a corporate area.
