One of my favorite restaurants. The hibachi experience is great. Filling amount of food. Las Vegas roll is delicious also.

Benihana has always been my favorite restaurant for 20+ years, however their food and service has significantly gone down over the years. The food was mediocre and our chef forgot several parts of our meal and my invited first-time guest had to wait for her food to cook while everyone else was eating. It was slightly embarrassing because I had talked up the food so much. The only redeeming quality was our wonderful waitress and the Coconut Mojito we enjoyed while waiting. Benihana used to be THE hibachi place to go, but I have found Shogun to be much better tasting and less expensive. I’ll be taking my business there from now on. Highly disappointed in a $ 100+ meal.

Tonight was my first time trying Benihana. My boyfriend and I wanted something different so we decided to give this a try. We loved it! Our chef Erika was awesome. She was constantly making us laugh and the food was amazing. All meals come with a good onion broth soup, some ginger salad and three shrimp. All three were very good. Especially the shrimp which was awesome in the ginger sauce they give you for dipping. The fried rice was so good that we ended up eating it all before the rest of our food was done. We both got the teriyaki chicken. It went excellent with the mustard sauce they give you. In all, good atmosphere, excellent chefs and servers and very tasty food. The only reason I gave 4 starts instead of 5 was because the potions could have been a little bigger. Normally when I have gone to these places I have had a ton of leftovers. The leftovers are one of the best parts! But I finished my plate and could probably still eat more. But from the service and the taste of the food, that doesn’t really matter. I will be back!

I just love this place. I want it to stay open forever so I can eat here all the time. I’ve been going for every birthday, father’s day, anniversary, graduation, for over ten years– and I can’t get enough! The food is SOGOOD and so filling. It is by far the best restaurant for portion size. Eat and try everything. It’s all good. TIP: Make sure to join Chef’s Table(it’s their free rewards dining club). You get a $ 30 coupon on your birthday and great deals!

Never again, there are so many great places to go in DFW. After the manager scammed me out of a gift card I will not return. The food is not what it used to be. Over priced, over seasoned and smaller portions. Good bye!

This place is addictive. The wait varies depending on what day and time you go. Either way it’s always packed. When it is super packed I go to the bar area and look for seating there. The food tastes the same to me and the service is about the same. Go to the hibachi if you want a show. You may or may not get a lethargic or humorless chef. Some chefs are entertainers while others seem to be dozing off. The routine is always the same. They rarely introduce anything new. Their alcoholic beverages are tasty. The lychee blossom martini is delicious. Recommend for those who have a sweet tooth. I’ll be back and hope you go.

I wouldn’t rate it one star if I didn’t have to. Where to start… The waitress we had was super stale-no personality. The food was so salty, dry and the sauce they provided tasted nothing like the sauce I’ve had at any other Benihana. The chef did not cook the vegetable all the way through. I could keep going but this is hands down the worst overall experience I’ve ever had at a Benihana. Between the poor services & high blood pressure inducing food I wouldn’t recommend this location.

Things have really improved at Benihana, including the customer service. It feels cleaner than it used to and the food is made with love rather than being rushed. The experience lately is more pleasant. I’ve been a few times since my last review, so I owe them an update since it has gotten much better. I suggest starting with a California roll and then getting the julienne steak and shrimp with fried rice from the hibachi. They also have a good drink menu

Ask for Miguel and you will never eat at another Habachi grille again. He is amazing. The food is cooked perfectly to order. We will be back.

Had made a reservation but after showing up had to wait 30min with still no seating. Finally just decided to leave. If you are planning on going get ready to wait a while to get a table.

We went here for my daughters birthday and the whole experience was just okay. The food was overpriced and I was not impressed at all with the experience. We ordered the filet mignon with a lobster tail. Both were well prepared, however both were quite small for the cost. We also ordered the steak and shrimp, the shrimp was good, but the steak was tough and overcooked. The service was slow and we waited quite a while to be served. Our hibachi chef was very nice, although not entertaining in the least bit. The drinks were overpriced as well. You get soup and a salad with your meal, and they offer you ice cream for dessert, but that does not make up for the lackluster food and dismal experience. Our bill was over 100.00 for 2 people and totally not worth it.

If you go in with the intent of paying for the experience, and not the food you will love this place. This place is for people who love to make Instagram and snap chat videos at the restaurant, acting like this is the best food they ever had in their life. I had pretty high expectations based upon all the amazing feed back I got from others. For all the people that want bang for your buck, choose another place. I’ve had better food from small«whole in the wall» places.

Horrible experience!!! don’t go during the week for dinner! You will be the forgotten table. As soon as I walked in I asked the girl up front how long was the wait, and she let me know it would be 20 minutes for two, I said great. After waiting 30 it was already 7:50pm. We sat down, got out drinks, salad and soup, then we waited over an hour and fifteen minutes till we finally see the manager,(we had to wave him down). He had no sense of urgency after letting know we had been waiting already. all he said to us was Let me check on your cook… And walked away. We finally got a cook at 9:30pm. What bothered me was that no one ever seemed to care. We were not looking for anything to be free, but an acknowledgment would of been nice.

I have been enjoying this establishment for six years now. This is our«go to» place for fun, entertainment, and food that is both delicious and consistent every single time. The raspberry sake is to die for. It’s the main reason I go. We love to start off the night with the spicy tuna roll. It always hits spot. The soup and salad is always wonderful. Not one time have they ever forgot to bring it to the table. I personally enjoy the Samuri Treat which consists of filet mignon and shrimp. My steak is always cooked and seasoned to perfection thanks to Lu. He is the absolute best chef. He is so personable, fun, and very passionate about his job and the quality of food he serves. I have tried several hibachi restaurants but none measure up to that level of quality and consistency as that of Benihana. I am a lifetime customer. I absolutely love this place. The food, drinks, entertainment and ambiance!

Came here for Happy Hour and also had a $ 30 birthday coupon. For the birthday coupon you used to be able to just purchase and meal and deduct the $ 30 but now you have to buy an entrée PLUS spend $ 30 to get $ 30 off. We weren’t aware of the change but the manager was nice and just charged us regular price for the food we ordered during happy hour but we still ended up paying $ 66+ tip with the coupon for two people.

Every year for Valentines Day I bring my daughter to her favorite restaurant for dinner… Benihanas!!! This is the perfect restaurant for special occasions or just because. My daughter got the kid’s meal with shrimp and I got filet mignon and lobster and my husband got chicken. Of course ALWAYS get the chicken fried rice. This is half of the point of coming here. They have the best fried rice EVER!!! Our chef was nice. no complaints. He did the usual show that they all do. We usually go to the Plano location but we came to this 1 because we happened to be in Irving. That’s why I only gave them 4 stars because the Plano location is so much better

Feb. 11, 2015 I’ve been to this location twice. Was happy to receive a $ 30 voucher by email for my birthday. Was disappointed the voucher took 24 hours to «process» AND you had to print it out. It’s 2015. You should be able to save some trees and just show them the voucher on your phone, geez! So I didn’t want to wait till the day AFTER my birthday to use the voucher so we missed out on that. My husband made a reservation and told them«it’s my wife birthday». This was never acknowledged I guess because they sand to every table BUT ours. Oh well, I hate being sung to but I would have liked the free ice cream… Our chef it seems knows the routine, same little funny tricks he does with the food or utensils(it was actually the same chef we had when we went 3 years ago) however you could tell there wasn’t much enthusiasm anymore. Food was good. Service was pretty bad. I don’t know if the waiter was new or overwhelmed or what but he forgot my husbands soda and forgot our order of sushi. Not to mention he screwed up everyone else’s orders too. He was nice and apologetic, maybe it was just a bad day. It’s kind of a drive for us, and yeah the food is pretty good but the service and same tired routine chef as well as their dumb voucher that has to «process» will definitely lead me elsewhere for my birthday next year.
