Sigh, this is just bad. The store broke away from the Pita Pit chain sometime in January during winter break, and renamed itself Pita Pita. However, their awning was still the same, leading no one to think their was organizational change. Simultaneously, their quality of food went from decent and passable to abysmal in a short period of time. No more.

This place is bad. The pita was dry, the falafel was soggy and rancid, most of the veggies where wilted. The service was slow in spite of having two people there and the place being empty(saturday lunch time!).

For those of you that have been in Ithaca for a few years or more, does anyone else think it has really gone down hill most recently? I think they might have new ownership or something but they don’t fill the pitas as much as they used to, the pitas are on the stale side and the veggies taste a bit bitter.

The Good: variety and the cooking is done in front of you so you know its fresh… well you don’t know how long for example the chicken has been in the fridge but at least you know the cooking is done right then and there. Tastiness is also a 3⁄5. The Bad: holy crap their pitas tear 80% of the time and they just don’t give a dam. Well screw them because a pita falling apart is a pita not worth eating.

Good food and not a long wait. They make it fresh for you and cook up the chicken or whatever your filler is. Was here a long while back but I remember them having a buffalo chicken pita wrap that was tasty. It’s healthy as long as you don’t get too much of certain dressings or cheese and is in a great location on the hill for foot traffic and places to park. I’d stop by again for sure.

We got it for delivery to campus, which took well over an hour. My Philly cheese pita was missing the crucial ingredient of cheese. They put barely any meat in the pitas, so you end up eating a bunch of lettuce wrapped in pita bread.

Not bad… All the reviews seem to be on the same page — the food is just whatever here. They have daily specials which are easy on a college student’s wallet but the food isn’t spectacular by any means.

A little on the pricey side for what they give, but it’s nice that you can add extra veggies & dressings to your pita. The falafel wasn’t that great and they didn’t put enough hummus to really be able to taste it. I guess it’s better than nothing for the area, but I was pretty disappointed. And I’m not even factoring in that I bit/found the plastic tag(that you use to tie bread bags) in my wrap. Yum.

Good, healthy food for a decent price and fast. The service can be hit and miss, sometimes great, sometimes not so great. The daily special is usually a good deal and you can find coupons around campus. The breakfast pitas are the best and you can get veggies on the grill.

This is Sam’s friend Anon E. Muss. I’ve had Pita Pit before so I don’t know what compelled me to order it again… Saaaam… 15 minutes after I called in for delivery they called back, apparently the food cost more than what they quoted me. It took an hour for the food to get here, it was cold, overpriced, and the wrong order. I didn’t even want to call to complain because I wouldn’t have taken free food as a bribe.

I think the pitas are pretty good here. While they are a bit pricier than Subway, if you order the daily special pita you get a drink and a pita for 6 bucks, so I say that’s a pretty good deal.

Oh Pita Pit… How I wish you’d step up your game. The food is decent, but overpriced. Also, delivery took 45 minutes. You’re stuffing a pita not baking a pizza…

Statler makes hella better pitas. Pita Pit’s pitas are dried out and thin, and they’re pretty stingy with toppings, especially meat. Go to Statler. Chicken/lamb will be tumbling out of your delicious, soft, warm pita as you try to fit a corner of it in your mouth. Not to mention, they take BRBs ’till 3 pm. Pita Pit’s employees aren’t that friendly either, especially considering how baked they seem to be. Delivery is faster than other places around C-town.

This place is pretty much an open invitation to spend the rest of the night in the bathroom. There’s a big difference between scoring on a sweet deal and choosing to pay for intestinal distress!

The food isn’t that great here, but for the value, it is worth it for sure. I agree with Jason S. that the falafels are not that great, but you get what you pay for. It’s cheap and easy, which is what I like about it.

Wow! This place is bad. They have absolutely, unquestionably the worst falafels I have ever had. They are not even fried. They are reheated on the grill. I have not eaten anything else here, and do not plan to. It was awful.

Pita Pit. Another great college memory. Especially the smell. No joke, my roommate used to ask me if I had Pita Pit when I got home because the smell IS that memorable! Their food is delicious and a bargain. I always got the gyro and had it stuffed with ALL the veggies. My way of thinking that this was healthy(I ignored the caloric content of the meat and tzatziki). No joke the pita was the size of my head by the time it was done(and I do have a rather large head as my mother points out every so often). Their hours were great, which meant that sometimes you had to deal with the drunken crew. But it was worth it. Oh my, I just went to their website if there are any locations near me. I used the build-a-pita functionality and found out that my pita had over 800 calories. Ah yes, that explains the senior 15(you knew that existed, right??)

Best damn pita I’ve ever had :) The employees are pretty friendly, too. Just don’t go on a cold day because you’re guaranteed to get whipped with that Ithaca cold every time the door opens. But seriously, the pitas just might be worth it.

The true power of Pita Pit is how much it has ingrained itself into my psyche. I FLIPOUT everytime I see a Pita Pit anywhere outside of Ithaca. It brings me endless joy when that happens. I love my pita punch card. I used to covet it, saving it for a special occaision. The workers are very liberal with the sauces, should you request it. MMMMMMMMMMM tsazizkksiksiikikiki. I have seriously written several pieces of prose, honouring Pita Pit. But the best thing is? The SMELL!!! I love how the smell can bring people together. I love how you just know, after taking a whiff of someone, if they’ve frequented the Pita Pit in the past 72 hours. And I love that everyone knows this smell.
