Always the best food and they change the menu often so it’s never boring.

The bar was full of upper-crust locals that were making their evening societal appearance.(Imagine Jane Krakowski’s elitist character on «Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt».) Not my type of people and not fun fellow bar patrons. We additionally felt a little out-of-place because some our clothes had just been worn all day in the Tetons. But after hiking over ten miles, our desire for top-notch food and drink outweighed social acceptance. Our desires were fulfilled — starting with their signature tartare pizza. The crust had good char without being burnt. Creating a creamy white pie, the aioli had lots of lemon with garlic aroma, but not overpowering garlic taste. The capers and red onion helped balance the dish. The only quibble was the need for a little more meat. We also tried the«bing bread» which was a variation of a Chinese dim sum called Char Siu Sou. Basically, a mini-pork Wellington which is a much more enticing description than bing bread. Claiming to use Chinese sausage, the pork and chestnut mixture was not really lap cheong because it was missing the marinated flavors that come from the deep red color. The meat mixture still had mild Chinese flavor along with Japanese from the shiitake mushrooms and Korean from the kimchi for a complete pan-Asian experience. The whipped avocado-colored scallion butter was a fancy way to add a common Chinese garnish like scallions, but it wasn’t needed. The dry-styled cocktails focused on tart and bitter — ideally crafted as aperitifs for the steak-filled menu. I’ve found James Beard Foundation Awards dubious. Not so much in major metropolitan areas, but in rural areas. For example, I walked-out of Beard-nominated restaurant in Santa Fe, NM because the food was poor. With Snake River Grill’s chef, Jeff Drew, winning back-to-back«Best Chef Northwest» Beard awards, I had serious doubts which he proved me wrong. I’ll gladly eat my words(and his food).

We had a great time here, but it almost didn’t happen! We didn’t have a reservation, but read some great reviews of the food and ambiance and decided to give it a try. The host kind of had a snooty attitude with us so we almost gave up and left, but, as luck would have it, some seats at the bar opened up and we sat down quickly! The bartender was very knowledgeable about their wines and he had this great knack for being attentive, but not overly attentive. He was great to chat with and completely made up for the first impressions we had of this restaurant. There were so many delicious things on the menu that we decided to share and sample a bunch of small things. Firstly, let me say that you MUST order the branding iron of sweet onion rings. These were so amazing and unlike other onion rings I have had before. The batter was perfect and had a little kick from the serrano pepper in the batter. We then ordered the mini halibut fish tacos which were so tasty and well-made. We then finished up our meal with truffle fries and the Columbia River Wild King Salmon. Dessert was the hummingbird cake which was very delicious! Definitely head here for a great meal!

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever visited — the food was outstanding and the service was flawless. We were in a group of fourteen; everyone was equally pleased. The potato pancakes were great and the buffalo steaks were even better. The rhubarb pie was superb… all in all a wonderful evening.

We had dinner here our last night in Jackson Wyoming. Dinner was fantastic and service was even better. Highly recommend the Buffalo Couloutte. It was better than expected.

Service: To put it nicely, I have received better service at the gas station. Our server was a indifferent trust fund ditz. The entire time(from seating) she was quite moody and uncommunicative, which gets in the way of her job description. We tried to work around it. She forgot our starter order & made a lame excuse. She literally came to the table once for drinks & once for orders and spent the time chatting with a older gentleman at next table. It took awhile, when I tried to send back a well done steak when I specifically ordered rare. Ended up being told that it would take 15 minutes for them to address the issue as the dinner room was less than half full. That is when I cancelled the order, paid bill(manager comped part of our meal), & left. Food: Angus Steak was cooked well to dry. What a shame. Truffle fries were dried to the consistency of a shoebox. Steak tartare pizza was okay but crust was drier than previous visits. Salmon was executed sufficiently. Seem like they are very unorganized this season. In short, this place has turned from fine dining to the level of a pricey tourist trap. Sad. I guess with record visitors predicted, they are pushing volume now. Headed to the Local subsequently to decompress from this disaster whilst enjoying a grass fed Lockhart ribeye. Ironically, our Local server had a friend worked there and that friend mentioned SRG have been having trouble with their staff since they reopened from off season.

Considered one of the best restaurants in Jackson. A bit pricey, but have never had a bad meal. Always a safe choice.

was referred to this place by a family member and told us that reservations would be a month in advance. Well, must have been our lucky day because we got reservations for the night that we wanted, time that we wanted without even having to book a month in advance! The food is great and the service is great. It’s in a great location in the center of Jackson hole. Down stairs you will find gift shops and small stores. Walking distance for the infamous antler arch.

I’ve eaten at Snake River once a year for seventeen years. The meals are always excellent and the ambiance is warm and inviting. I will note that service has always been best with a party of six or less, but they do have a private dining area for larger groups that has worked well in the past. The appetizers are consistently good. This year we had the Branding Iron Onion Rings and an incredible Asian Duck Pizza. I wanted to eat a little lighter this trip and had the Curried Red Lentil Soup with shrimp, which was delicious and a great bargain. A friend had the Elk Tenderloin which was superb. I hold back on the final star, as the Chocolate Soufflé dessert, although airy and light, was not very flavorful. Visited March 2016

Great food and service. I can’t believe we didn’t find this place on our first trip. We sat at the bar, as per usual, and had a great time with both bartender and other bar go-ers. We got elk tenderloin and creamed spinach. Drinks(i.e. Manhattan) were amazing and they had a great French wine at reasonable price! I hate I have no pics!

We enjoyed our evening at Snake River grill. The ambience and food were very good. The restaurant itself if beautiful. We had the steak carpaccio pizza, truffle fries, bone marrow and the elk. We enjoyed it all with Plumpjack Cabernet and finished the meal with a chocolate soufflé paired with a delicious baileys cappuccino. I think my favorite part of the meal was the fries. They were thin, crispy and delicious! Everything was very tasty except for the bone marrow. It was my first time trying it and I was not a fan. It’s located next to some amazing shops! There are some very unique things like dinosaur bones, pearls, and animal furs. I would recommend getting there a little early so you have time to look around.

Really amazing food! So we started with the elk ravioli and the fried cauliflower. The cauliflower was absolutely awesome!!! My hubs wanted to order another order, but we didn’t. The ravioli was good, but didn’t blow my mind. For our main courses I ordered the pork shank with green chili sauce and my hubs ordered the elk tenderloin with kale. My hubs loved his elk so much, but was a little rich for me. The pork shank was to die for! OMG!!! So so so good!!! For dessert we ordered the chocolate soufflé and our waiter suggested we get it a la mode with a bourbon ice cream. The soufflé was just okay, but the ice cream was amazing!!!

We have been going to SRG for 8+ years and it used to be our favorite dining experience in town but as of late there has been a huge decline in food quality and service. Since we had a large party we brought several bottles of wine with us. One of them was a bottle of champagne which we handed to the hostess upon check in. Instead of putting the bottle on ice or in the refrigerator she put it in the coat closet and as a result the bottle was very warm by the time it came to serve it. Our server was OK but definitely not the quality of server we came to expect over the years. There are a lot of new faces in the wait staff. The big issue for us was the food. Out of a table of 7 people and 3 courses each there was only one dish, the steak tartare pizza, that was memorable. Everything else was extremely mediocre and forgettable. Most notably I had the parsnip soup and duck bucatini. Both of which were bland and not something I would order again. To make matters worse they removed our favorite desert from the menu, the beignets, and the desert menu seemed very small. We chose to order the soufflés which were just like the rest of the meal. Very forgettable. Our family does not intend to return to SRG anytime soon but hopefully one day we do and I can update this with a better review. It leaves us with great sadness to see such a staple of Jackson slipping.

To our pleasant surprise we enjoyed our dining experience here. This upscale restaurant off of Downtown Jackson Hole is beautifully decorated with modern western theme. We visited JH in fall(when business is not so busy) so were able to snag a reservation the same day. The ambiance is on romantic side as the lights are slightly dimmed. As soon as we were greeted and seated, our waitress immediately showed up. We went through the process of ordering and eating pretty efficiently without feeling rushed. She came around to check on us several times and the our drinks including water never went empty. As for the food, we shared the brussels sprouts appetizer which was lovely. Not too salty or soggy. Our entrees: I had the crusted trout with walnuts while my husband had the bison steak. I really enjoyed my trout as it tasted fresh and light. The sprinkled nuts complimented the taste of the fish well. My husband on the other hand mentioned that his game meat was tender, tasty and moist. Overall our experience with both the food and the service were far from faults.

We had a large business dinner here on a Thursday night. This restaurant is located in downtown Jackson Hole, near all the shopping, etc. The restaurant was packed, a good sign! Our concierge told us that this was the ‘best restaurant in town’! We found out wine by the bottle was 30% off on Thursdays, so we promptly ordered a few bottles to try. The menu was good, lots of different things(steak, elk, salmon potato cakes, onion rings, and half a dozen doughnuts for dessert) to try. The have a full bar, and some private dining options as well. The prices are more towards the high end, and the servings are good sized, but not overwhelming. The service was excellent, even with a large party(we did have a reservation, and I would recommend getting one). The food was fresh, and the main courses for our large party were all served at the same time by 3 – 4 servers. Well done! We ended up closing this place down, and really enjoyed ourselves! Great spot… get that reservation!

We had a great dinner for 6. It has lots of character and the staff are well trained. I had the«minute» steaks and the salad with herbed goat cheese and corn dressing. We also had the New York Strip(x3) and the warm tomato and burrata salad. The tomato and burrata salad was honestly the only bad thing we ate. To finish, we had some delicious doughnuts and Eskimo bars!!! My biggest complaint is their corkage policy. It is two bottles per table regardless of people at table. So… if I had a table for 2, I could cork two bottles. If I have a table for 6, I can only cork two bottles. Seems ridiculous. I will probably not bring groups back for this very reason.

Snake River Grill was amazing. The food was wonderful. I had the cowboy buffalo steak and it was really good. Other people had the fish, pork and elk. All was pretty good. We also had the chocolate peanut butter tart and the Eskimo pies for dessert. Would eat here again.

A few of the locals said Snake River Grill was the most fancy restaurant in town. I could not tell if they loved it or loathed it. We wanted rustic mountain food in a cabin like atmosphere, and Snake River Grill sure delivered! If you own a cowboy hat, I think you’d feel appropriate wearing it here! When we arrived for our 7:30 reservation the table was not ready so we had a drink in the bar. We were seated for dinner in a booth and started with the steak tartare pizza and the humungous onion rings. The tartare pizza was one of my favorite tartare dishes ever. Black Angus New York steak with garlic aioli, capers, parsley, and red onion. There was not a piece left. Onion rings had a very impressive presentation but did not blow us away as much as the pizza. My good friend and I shared the elk tenderloin special for dinner. It was the perfect quantity when split in two. It was on a creamy parsnip purée and was so tender and lean. We also had a side of the parmesan fries. They were addiciting! Thin, and covered in cheese. The soufflé for dessert was not my favorite. The cardamom anglaise was a bit overpowering. Overall a great rustic meal. We’d return next time we’re in Jackson!

A very hearty meal for a hungry mountain man or woman. The onion rings are a trip, each onion slice has been coopted into an efficient carb and fat delivery vehicle. Be careful with your consumption however, should you order the buffalo cowboy steak(as I did) you’ve got thousands of calories ahead of you. The soufflé is a big winner, you’ll have to order it towards the beginning of the meal which is easy. Saving room for it… that’s the hard part. Service started off rough, we had to track down our waitress but she immediately got us back on track. The staff also gracefully exited an super drunk patron who repeatedly spilled water on himself and couldn’t quite stand up straight. The resulting scene transformed a simple dinner into dinner theater, no complaints from us!
