I read some reviews while sitting at the nearby Flying J truck stop and figured I’d give this place a shot. As a trucker, finding an establishment with truck parking is a rarity, so I wanted to support this business since they are big rig friendly. That being said, I have detailed the results of my experience below. Brunswick Stew: In all fairness, I had never eaten(or heard of) Brunswick stew, and I’m not one that typically enjoys stews or soups unless they are really something special; true-to-form, the stew served here failed to impress me. I have no way of knowing if it was great Brunswick stew(as proclaimed by other reviewers) or not, but I won’t be eating it again anytime soon. I rate the stew as a 2 — 2.5 star item. An 8oz container of stew was $ 5. Chicken Wings: Other reviewers seem to have enjoyed the wings and ribs, so I ordered some of each of those as well. The wings were really good. They were dry(meaning unsauced) but cooked and smoked to near perfection. However, I did not care for the slightly runny and vinegar infused BBQ sauce here, so I had nothing to eat them with outside of some spices and seasonings that I had in the truck — a little smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder fit the bill nicely. I rate the chicken wings as a 3.5 — 4 star item. 6 wings were $ 5.50. Ribs: The ribs were on par with most B-level BBQ joints that I’ve eaten at. They were decent, but I wouldn’t put them in my top five. Like the wings, the ribs were also served without sauce and were either a tad bit overcooked or a little past their prime(perhaps a bit of both). Nonetheless, they were still edible and some bites were even enjoyable. I rate the ribs as a 3 — 3.5 star item. Six ribs were $ 13.50. Price: The real deal-breaker for me was the price. Six ribs, six wings, an 8oz stew, and a 32oz sweet tea came to $ 28 and change. Conclusion: I rated this as a 3-star establishment because the food was a 3 for me(which equates to average taste), and the price was a 2(slightly below average value). Averaging the ratings for the food and price, I was left with a 2.5 out of 5 star rating, so to be fair, I rounded up to 3 stars.

If you enjoy mediocre, overpriced barbecue this is the place. No extra charge for the dust thrown up by the trucks in the unpaved parking lot. Ribs did have a good smoke on them but were made tough by the microwaving before serving. The Brunswick Stew was the worst I ever tasted, with the texture of baby food. The sauce was good, the only reason we give two stars. Will not go back!

This was hands down the best bbq I have ever had. What makes it even better is we got it sry take out and didn’t eat for a bit after getting our food. I can only wish to go back and actually sit at the restaurant and eat.

Great little barbecue joint. Right off the freeway very convenient. Dog friendly. They make their own sauce too.

The food at this place is over priced and mediocre at best. They cater to truck drivers because they can park for free in their lot-if they spend 10.00. The only good thing is they stay open very late. For the quality of the food, there is absolutely no value for your money,

Told me they take American Express. Took my order, had me wait, then said«oh no we no take America express». If you are a business, and you do «business» then know your BUSINESS! Thanks for nothing.

Looked this up on Unilocal on a family trip to Florida from Michigan – missed it on the way down, but made sure to try it on the way back. As soon as we pulled in I could tell this was a go-to place as there many tractor-trailer trucks in the massive parking lot and other autos. The others waiting for their food were very positive about Olé Rudy’s. I only had the ribs and bought a bottle of Rudy’s BBQ sauce sight untasted. My wife fed me the ribs and slaw on the road as I drove. The ribs were smoked nicely, not overly flavorful with any spices. Here the ribs come dry with the BBQ sauce on side(as opposed to be covered in BBQ sauce as in other regions). I think they just smoke the ribs with no rub on it(perhaps that is the style in GA). It was tasty, though it was a bit greasy. I like the BBQ sauce, which has a vinegar taste and not too sweet like BBQ sauces I have had more north. Though I am partial to more sweet BBQ sauces. The coleslaw was excellent. They serve their meal with a couple of pieces of white bread, a nice regional touch. Overall, I rate what I had at 3.5 stars. The service was great. I really like the big cup of sweet tea I had with my meal. I will stop here again to try some brisket and the other BBQ offerings if we pass by.

Olé Rudy’s was a-ok in my opinion. I stopped here with high hopes of fantastic BBQ based on the 4.5 star average, and was not met with over the top service or food. We had a group of six and tried the pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, platters and sides. The consensus was a-ok with room for improvement. We didn’t smell the BBQ smoke in the air, so maybe we came at an off time when they weren’t cooking things fresh. Larger portions would go a long way. Prices are steep for a side of the interstate trailer situation and a very average amount of food. There is a huge parking lot for truckers to park, and an inside and outside area to sit and not much else going on. They had NCAA basketball on, which was a nice touch for me to keep up in the background. Would I come here again? Maybe, over some of the chains in the area around Tanger. Would I go out of my way for it? No. I’d go to Fresh Air in Jackson for great BBQ nearby instead any day.

Great BBQ spot! It’s a must every time my husband and I are in the area! We got to meet the owner Rudy tonight and I have to say, he is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. His homemade BBQ sauce is AWESOME! We had to take a bottle to go. Everyone really needs to stop by Rudys 5STARS all day!

Stopped on the way to Macon Georgia and had some incredible pulled pork with all the fixings(slaw and baked beans!) try the sauce, it’s truly to die for so I left with a bottle of that too! tried the Brunswick stew which was also delicious. Only wish I had more room in my stomach-come hungry! Will definitely duo in again my next visit!!!

Saw this place on the at to make an application call at Jordan Forest in Barnesville. I figured I’d stop by afterwards since I hadn’t eaten lunch yet. After ordering a pulled pork sandwich with fries and sweet tea, I waited several minutes for my order as there we a few guys ahead of me. I paid $ 12 and tipped a $ 1 to the Mexican lady in the window. I got my bag of Food and sweet tea and drove off only to find out I did not have pulled pork, I had brisket and it was fatty. I also did not have fries, I had potato salad and baked beans, neither of which I ordered. Not a great experience and will not be back. Check you orders folks, I think a language barrier at the ordering window was the culprit.

This place is fantastic. The food is always 1st rate, the customer service is outstanding and the atmosphere is friendly and down home. We tell people about Rudy’s BBQ from Florida /Georgia to Washington State. Love this place !!!

The barbecue was great. We had the pulled pork sandwiches the coleslaw and baked beans they’re all very savory. The barbecue sauce was on the spicy side. The one thing that really threw us was how clean the bathrooms were my son even said it smells good in here. It’s was cleaner than my bathroom at home! The employees were nice and helpful. I would definitely stop here again.

This is a rather unassuming place. Its menu is very simple: chicken, briskets, turkey, wings and ribs. On our first visit, we had their ribs. The smokers outside gave us faith in their authenticity that they’re smoked with real wood and not liquid smoke. The ordering process is fairly simple. You walk up, you look at the menu, and order at the counter. Your order is prepared right there with disposable plates. Long story short, the food is fabulous. I had a small rib plate with slaw and beans. My friend had thr half chicken with slaw and beans also. My ribs were tender and meaty. My friend enjoyed the chicken to the point that he was sucking on the bones. The meals came with sides of their sauce. It was delicious. I’m a Carolina girl so I love vinegar based sauces ans this sauce while not really Carolina has enough of a bite that I didnt feel lost. The cole slaw is great and provided a good balance with the meat. The beans were saucy and not too sweet. I hate it when beans are made to taste like candy. These are awesome. I’m a driver and the an asset is the truck parking. We just stooped for the food this visit but if I need a place to take a break I know I can be well fed here. In conclusion this place has my seal of approval.

We saw the reviews for ‘Olé Rudy’s BBQ’ on Unilocal as we were driving down the freeway at dinner time. Went in to make a fast stop & had great brisket sandwiches! Really good & his BBQ Sauce is a tiny spicy & tiny sweet – just RIGHT!!! Yes, you get your food at the trailer-it’s BBQ folks!!! However, there’s a covered space to eat outdoors & another air conditioned enclosed area with a TV to be indoors. Another plus was the bathrooms were clean! Rudy was outside & was a nice talkative guy. Stop by & say Savannah says hi!

Service was good, but BBQ was very disappointing!!! I’m almost certain it made my Trucker Boyfriend very sick, we visited after a CB Announcement and was hoping to get good food, brisket was thin and undercooked, chicken was dry and it wasn’t cheap by any means… PASSTHISPLACEUP!!!

Read reviews of several BBQ places. Some weren’t so great. Many closed too early or weren’t even open today. So we pulled up and walked up to the food truck. Ordered our meat and waited patiently. The ribs were fantastic. We tried a turkey rib. It was juicy and didn’t last long. We also tried the baked beans, tasted like they were out of a can, sweet and good. The Cole slaw was puréed too long, had good flavor, but tasted like the stuff that comes on a hotdog. It was good, but not what I expected. I would recommend giving this spot a try. It’s family friendly, large parking for trucks, buses and RV’s. Outside seating or take it to go.

This place is the worst. How this guy has stayed in business is beyond me. I can only think that the truck driver are keeping him in business. The bbq is weak and anytime you microwave a smoked rib it gets tough as hell. It has plenty of truck parking and I assume that drivers are eating here due to that. It’s also very very expensive. Brisket sandwich was $ 5 and it was small. I had $ 10 brisket plate and once again it was a child’s plate. Spoke with owner and he was gracious and attentive but the bottom line is. He doesn’t know jack about smoking meat. He does make his own bbq. It’s decent but I’m not a fan of the thin sauce, it’s good just not memorable. I won’t go back. This is Georgia and you must bring your A game.
