Had Mother’s day buffet brunch here today and it was fabulous! Eggs bene, made to order egg dishes, shrimp, fruit, prime rib, turkey au gratin potatoes to die for and sumptuous deserts! Complimentary Mimosas for all Moms and a riverfront view. This is our second year dining here for Mother’s Day and we decided to make this an annual tradition. Waitress was just Ok and seemed to be inattentive at times but the food made up for what the service lacked. Definitely recommend this place. Food was excellent!

Brought family to Pietro’s for the sunset specials. Very uninspired choices two onus got the prime rib, it was tough and gristly. Both said it was the worst prime rib they had ever eaten. Beet salad was gluey if that is possible? It also had a hair in it. Eggplant stacker was good, crunchy and flavorful. I got the chicken penne Alfredo with artichokes. It was okay but not worth the money. «Free» dessert, was glutinous chocolate mousse that resembled something you would get out of a can. I can’t imagine ever going back.

We got married here a year ago and everything was amazing, we come back tonight and it’s just plain awful. Dried out steak and they use the same«sauce» for the filet that they get from their braised beef. If I wanted a braised short rib gravy on my filet, I would’ve ordered it. Don’t try and lie and say it’s a mushroom gravy. Horrible horrible horrible

Terrible food and terrible service. I am pretty convinced the rice was rice-a-roni from a box. Find it hard to believe that anyone has had a nice meal here. Save your $, it certainly is not worth the price. Fine dining restaurants are somewhat limited on S Hutchinson Island — and this is a far cry from a decent restaurant at any level.

Pa’s has LOTS of FUN photo props to make your Fall pictures FABULOUS! The kids enjoy picking their own pumpkins… it can get crowded so go EARLY to beat the CROWDS the closer it is to HALLOWEEN the more crowded it gets! GREAT family outing!

We have eaten at Pietros on the ocean many times and have never been disappointed. We decided to try Pietros on the river… Save your money… Service was excellent food was sub par, uninspired. Needs a new chef!

We live down the street from Pietros and it is one of our favorite places to take our guests for a nice, quiet, relaxing dinner with a beautiful sunset view of the Indian River. Food is always delicious and service is great.

The food, service and surroundings are OUTSTANDING at this upscale(yet reasonably priced) river view restaurant. The menu and wine list are excellent and the well stocked bar offers every specialty label you can imagine. Nightly dinner specials are always fabulous — they normally feature the freshest of fish and other gourmet delights. They’re only open Thursday through Sunday nights in the ‘off season’…be sure to call for a reservation so you’re not disappointed!

Went there last night for a New Year’s Eve dinner and was really disappointed. I gave it one star — and that was for the lobster bisque soup, which was very good. When we sat down, there was butter on the table and after drinks order was placed, I had to ask for the bread to go along with it. For my drink order, I asked for the J. Lohr cab, not the house wine, and I believe both my boyfriend and I got the house wine. My entrée was crab cakes and I believe they must’ve been made weeks ago — I never had worse crab cakes EVER. Dry, tasteless and just all-around bad. My water glass sat empty for the longest time and I asked for a refill, which I never got, so i drank my BF’s. We had an 8:30 reservation and there were about 6 empty tables in our section, so I don’t know what the problem was. The steak my BF had was not good either — he ate about half and didn’t finish. We didn’t have dessert so I can’t comment on that. Overall, it was a huge disappointment because I had been looking forward to going there for a very long time. It’s especially disappointing because it was New Year’s Eve and our final meal for 2014 went out like a puff.

We specifically went to Pietros tonight for the Sunset Special, mainly for the view since we heard it’s beautiful, even though the food’s not great. The food was ok(Sunset Special choices not good) and to our disbelief they pulled down all the shades in the restaurant 10 minutes after we sat down. The sun was barely shining in there. You couldn’t see outside at all and we may as well have been at a church basement for potluck. We ate our meal and around dessert time I spoke to the manager(tall man) and nicely told him how disappointed that we were about the view. He was weird and defensive. So unprofessional. I wouldn’t return. Go to the other Pietros. It’s a lot better in many ways.

We had a lovely anniversary dinner here on a Saturday night. We called early and asked for a window table which the manager said he would do his best to get for us and he did. My husband got the spinach salad and I got the beet salad and they were both delicious. He got the seafood Riviera and it was fabulous. My veal Leonardo was good too. Dessert was a gooey chocolate cake with ice cream which was to die for. They were out of all the bottle Sauvignon blanc wines so we had the house one and loved it. That was lucky and cost less too. Our service was great by Larry and Steve who were there when needed but never pushy. We stayed 2 ½ hours so we could see the sunset and enjoy our evening. We shall return.

Called for reservations, and was told there was a small wedding «upstairs». She failed to mention it was only 2 stair. It was also prom night. LOUD all the way around. We really couldn’t hold a conversation, for the din. Last year we had a wonderful meal, this year all the meals were very disappointing. Two in the party had duck, dry! I had the special, prime rib medium rare, almost too tough to cut and a real challenge to chew. The last dinner was pork chop, medium, which was dry. What has happened here, really sorry, it was our go to special place. Don’t think we will return.

We almost missed Pietros on the River as it’s hidden away on Hutchison Island. The restaurant is located at the Island Dune Country Club which is unmarked from the road. We tried lunch here on a weekday and were the earliest patrons. As a result, we had excellent service! I had the Island Salad with Grilled Chicken, Gorgonzola Cheese, Granny Smith Apples, Roasted Pumpkin Seeds Served with Key Lime Vinaigrette. This was excellent and I’d definitely go back Service 5⁄5 Food 5⁄5 Ambiance 4⁄5 There’s free parking and there’s ever a really small golf shop in this older ClubHouse. Very reasonable pricing.

We went to Pietros on the River on Saturday night, late October 2013. There are two — Pietros on the River and Pietros on the Ocean & located close together — it’s confusing. We visited for the sunset dinner special. It was a pleasant environment but I noticed the tableware was a bit dusty amplified by the evening’s sunset. We had two servers that were particularly attentive, except my companion had to ask twice to have his water glass refilled. The rolls and butter were very satisfying — a variety served including crusty and I think it was rye. I ordered coffee & the server said it was good. At around $ 2.50 it should be. Salad was mixed greens & vinaigrette — stingy on the dressing. It was okay but a little dry and nondescript — could have used some tomatoes or vegies or something. The very tall manager delivered our entrees, priding himself on carrying the super hot plates without any protection except for his calloused hands. Nevertheless, he sort of jerked my coffee cup — spoon jangled — out of the way to make room for the hot plates before I knew that he was carrying the plates barehanded. My companion ordered the chicken with capers in a cream sauce. It was tasty and tender; I might order it again. I ordered the prime rib. It was fatty and tough in places; heavily crusted with flavorless herbs. I had a half dozen good bites; the rest went home to my doggie Killer(I’ve heard a lot of diners take home their food to their dogs.) Mashed potatoes were okay and the accompany vegies were too undercooked to eat without cutting with a steak knife. Dessert was a chocolate mousse that tasted more like bland pudding than mousse. I could not detect any of the richness that a dozen egg yolks add to real mousse. We did not eat it all — you know when you cannot finish a chocolate dessert that it’s not great. $ 62 later we mused that for that amount we could buy the best steaks at Publix or The Fresh Market & I could make my yummy organic mashed potatoes with real butter and cream. Pietros on the River is offering Thanksgiving Dinner; $ 38.95 per person plus tax & gratuity; and Christmas dinner $ 43.95. We might give them another chance.

Older style menu and I am not saying that’s a bad thing. Just some let’s say«standards» considerate of the main clientele. They are expertly executed. I had the Snapper Monte Carlo with a Ceasar salad. Everything was great. A really nice view especially at sunset on a clear day. Nice wine list and fantastic service.

Décor: 4⁄5 –plentiful parking –the view is amazing, there is a pool and gazebo in the back –interior is spacious and perfect for a wedding to accomodate around 150 people Service: 4⁄5 –super friendly servers Food: 4⁄5 –The mashed potatoes was probably the best part of our meal followed by a close second for the beef prime rib. There was also chicken and mahi mahi but those were meh.

Am I on a different planet? Was so looking forward to dining at pietros. What a disappointment. Upon entering restaurant, thought it was a bit dated and more of a senior crowd than expected. Dining manager was excellent in welcome and speed of meeting reservation seating. Not so wild with our table outside restrooms but guess someone has to sit there. Wait person Donna was fairly receptive and offered drinks right off the bat. Went over minimal specials and was timely in getting drink order. Wine list was perfectly sufficient. Had not ask for bread since we were starving after golf. Menu I reviewed online was exact replica of what was offered tonite. Minimal specials. Beet salad was tasty and well prepared; wedge salad was just that; and calamari was okay. I chose to wait for entrée. Chicken cordon bleu was pretty good, potatoes were gluey and broccoli and carrots totally unimaginative. Chicken Marsala satisfied that diner but looked gloppy. Rigatoni with sausage had nice taste but talk about a la dente. It was crunchy! My meal was not put in accurately and instead of veal saltimbocca came chicken Marsala. Once that was reported the staff kicked into high gear. Maitre d was right on it, came over apologized, brought drinks for table, and worked on getting meal as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, this was the worst saltimbocca I have ever been served. Tender enough veal loaded with tons of sage and cheese was Inedible. No sauce masquerading dish. Donna noticed and returned dish to kitchen. Maitre d returned apologizing and removed dish from bill. Espresso was excellent according to hubby but key lime pie ordered as the only dessert was kind of lime cheesecake and unremarkable. Would not return but have to commend dining room manager and wait staff for their responsive behavior. Nice view but acoustics are not conducive to quiet conversations. And food totally unimaginative. Too bad.

«Delicious cuisine melded with exquisite ambiance and views» Having travelled, lived and dined all over the world for executive business; based out of Europe. This restaurant is fine dining with courteous and attentive wait staff, attention to detail, presentation, a select wine list rather than shotgun wine approach, in short, elegant dining on the water with delightful sunset views. The food is delicately balanced, paired well, and interesting to the palate. This is one of the finest restaurants in the Treasure Coast. I am not sure where the previous reviewer eats but this restaurant is among the best in the US. On a scale of 1,2,3 being sustenance only, commercial norm and 4,5,6,7 being lower to upper«traditional anywhere fare» food and 8,9,10 being«creative delectable artisanal» highest quality; Pietro’s On the water is a 9.5

Great spot for fine dining or dine at the bar. Great sunsets. Service is sometimes hit or miss. The owner is always there to greet you with a smile. My wife got the prime rib special blackened. It came out way over cooked. We were with another couple so my wife didn’t want to make a seen. She could only eat a few bites of the leather. The eggplant stack app was awesome. Lamb chops were very good. Beet salad was tasty. I’d go back.

If you are looking for a nicer restaurant that is free of plastic chairs and an indoor tiki bar(not that we don’t love them!) then Pietro’s is what you’re looking for! We visited Pietro’s on 9⁄2 and were personally greeted by the owner. The service was quick and they never missed a beat. Pietro himself keeps a watchful eye on the service and ensures that all guests are well taken care of. The food was fantastic. I had the chicken cordon blue and my guest had the crab cakes. Both dishes were flavorful, the portions were large and they were beautifully plated. We both enjoyed the onion soup which was a perfect balance of sherry, sweet onions and fine cheeses. We ended the meal with coffee and a shared slice of the chocolate cake as we watched the sunset over the intracostal waterway. The restaurant was full and there was also a wedding taking place in the private dining room. We were so impressed with Pietro’s that we have decided to use the restaurant for our upcoming wedding reception.
