Worst place ever. The fish tasted like ammonia which is due to decomposition and they put popcorn shrimp in the gumbo! When I called to speak to the manager a barely educated female said the manager is not there and she has no idea when he’s returning because he comes and goes as he pleases. Shocker. This business will not last unless that get better staff & stop serving old food.

Last week, while visiting my sister I tried out this family favorite. I kept hearing about their Shrimp Po Boys and as a seafood lover I had to give them a try. The sandwich came with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and a secret house sauce. It was awesome! That was one of the best sandwiches I ever had! TRULY! The shrimp were flavorful and the sauce was the perfect complement. I also ordered the hush puppies and they were unlike any I have had in the past, but really good! My only complaint was the whiting. It wasn’t seasoned at all. Incredibly bland. «Two out of three ain’t bad.» Good portion size and value for your money.

Hands down probably the best damn seafood I’ve had in a long time. The portions are so filling and the prices are more than reasonable. Yall done messed up letting me find you. You will be delivering to me every pay day lol!!! Oh yeah I ordered the special tilipia, shrimp, and choice of side. As well as crablegs. Not only did it come pretty quickly but it was soooo good. My new favorite restaurant.

Got the shrimp and fish combo platter along with a slush today delivered. When I called, I was asking about 100 words a minute and the young lady simply answered them all. After I decided, I waited about 40 minutes for my food. I must admit, it was amazing! The shrimps were friend perfect and the fish as well. The sweet potato fries are to die for. It came with a dipping sauce for the shrimps. I recommend for anyone who over seafood as much as me! 5 stars easy

The food is amazing, what more can I say? The fried shrimp are my favorite, with the rice. The sandwiches are excellent as well.

Their Cajun fries, Catfish and Shrimp are what keeps me coming back. Oh, and the wings. They have amazing service and I never have to wait a long time for my food. You also get a lot of food for your money.

Best prices for the best fried chicken in JC. I love the 2 pc Chicken & Fries(you can sub for sweet potato fries, salad, or Cajun rice) combo with a drink(which I trade for a Cherry/mango slushie) for $ 3.95. Smother your chicken in the Big Easy Special Sauce and a little hot sauce and you’re in heaven!!! The wait is 20 mins but it’s made to order and not sitting under a hot lamp for hours like other chicken places, you just need to call ahead. I’m not a seafood eater but the fried shrimp is outstanding. I also love their sweet potato fries and the Cajun rice. Really great takeout food. Sit down is good too but the place is usually very busy so I just take it to go. If you can wait 20 mins for some awesome food, it’s worth the wait!

Th food is good but the service is HORRIBLE. The women at the counter spend all their time on Facebook when the tables need cleaning. They need to be fired or retrained in good customer service.

Pretty good shrimp Po Boy. Service was pretty fast and the portions were good. Worth trying if you’re in the mood for Cajun food.

Food isn’t bad at all however cashier & her boyfriend/co-worker are a bit too sexual around the counter and where food is being served. Very unprofessional. Time & place for everything & those actions are extremely unsanitary for a restaurant.

If I were rating Big Easy according to their food, then I would definitely give them more stars. Their fried chicken and shrimp are especially tasty. But unfortunately, their customer service makes the enjoyment of the food decrease greatly. I’ve yet to encounter a cashier who doesn’t think that they’re too good to be working there. Those girls(the cashiers) treat customers soooo nasty whenever they feel like it. In fact, my mother called them about 2 weeks ago to order our food and the cashier asked her to hold on for a moment while she finished taking someone else’s order. She left her on hold for 35 minutes! When she finally got back to my mother, my mom asked what took her so long and she said there were other people inside but we know she was lying because my mother heard her discussing how her boyfriend disturbed her by calling her at 5AM! She actually had the nerve to get very disrespectful to the point that my mom couldn’t take it and just hung up on her. So yes, the food is pretty good but the workers can be insanely rude. There are other places to buy chicken and fish in Jersey City. Don’t risk getting treated like crap just for the sake of food. Believe me, it isn’t worth it.

Love their grilled fish and crawfish. Anytime I need a good seafood fix, this is one of my go-to spots. Good prices but I just wish they deliver.

I’m debating between 4 or 5 stars. I was looking for more Cajun kick but it was not bad. Shrimp was excellent fries are excellent and the fish was fried well but I didn’t like the taste of the fish. It was whiting. I wanna go back and try more things and I want to try the slushie and the pecan pie! Definitely a good spot to go to get some good fried seafood… looking forward to the calamari and a po boy sandwich

Food looked awesome, huge pieces of fish, thick fries, big fried oysters and red rice. I prepared myself for a glorious feast, and a chance to fend off a seafood craving. Big disappointment. Unfortunately it was just a feast for my eyes. Fish although cooked well, was salty. Hot sauce or tarter sauce didn’t help that. Fries weren’t crisp, just limp and flavorless. Fried oysters tasted like oysters, cooked perfectly and a good amount of em, but had the kinda salty exterior of the fish, just a smaller amount. Rice looked great, green/red peppers, nice color… bland. I really had a craving for seafood, and thought going Cajun would be a nice change of pace. Sigh. Service was nice, space was clean. Looks like the slushies were a popular item from the way the other customers ordered it. But no satisfaction for me. I’m not going back.

Went for a walk and discovered the Big Easy Restaurant. Food was great(Greater than expected). I fell in love with the corn on the cob it was beyond wonderful. I also ordered the shrimp and fish platter. Everything was tasty. Restaurant was clean. I will definitely try this place again! The gentleman at the register was also friendly. As a person that has visited New Orleans«The Big Easy», the food was not as spicy as I would have expected but it was good.

I came in with some stringent expectations having lived in the South for a while. Food: Grilled Tilapia po’ boy — Very«meh» at best. Everything was cooked well and fresh and the sauce was good. The fish itself had little flavor. Maybe because it was one of the few grilled things(aka not fried) things there. Fried Chicken — You are coming here for this. Perfectly cooked; extremely juicy. A+ on this. Fried Shrimp — Good at best. Well cooked and battered, but not much in flavor. Fries/Cajun fries — The run of the mill average frozen ones. The Cajun ones were not much better. If they could at least step it up to a Five Guys Cajun fries, I’d probably add a whole star. Gumbo — «meh». I expect gumbo to be full of flavor and color. Not much on either. Icees — The let you mix! Nice variety. I got Margarita/Cherry which is a nice combo. Overall a good dining experience. I’d imagine it would be even better with lunch specials. A few holes I wish they would patch up but I do recommend people eating here.

Fried buttermilk chicken, fried fish, fried calamari, fried shrimp, fried lobster tails. Fried, fried, fried. I like fried a lot though. Nicely flavored batter. Really crisp, not oily. It’s best to eat on site because it isn’t as good once you reheat it. Unfortunately the location is fast food décor on a strip on a dingy block. Sadly, not very aesthetically pleasing. Be prepared to hit the gym for an extra half hour all week because the sides are french fries and other highly caloric goodies. Don’t forget the Louisiana hot sauce and tartar.
