Food was exceptional! Service was really good. I’m coming back. The ribeye rocked my world. Creamed spinach hit the spot! Hash browns yum. Ice box cake— YES!!!

Love this place!!! Have only been for a few Sunday nights because of the all night Happy Hour in the bar. The HH menu is great. I love the bacon wrapped dates, Mac and cheese and rice balls. I get the Hot and Dirty Martini. I think everything is like $ 6 each. Pat, the owner, is so nice and makes sure that all of his patrons are taken care of. The bartenders are professional and awesome. Crowd is diverse and different every time I am here. I need to come back for a steak meal.

If you’re looking for a great steakhouse in Jersey City, and claim to know what a good steak is– this is your spot. Can’t go wrong with the calamari appetizer, 12 oz Filet Mignon. Or the Rib Eye. Asparagus and Spinach sides. A bottle of Pinot noir and the Tiramisu and Cheesecake for desert.

The winelist is pretty decent. We ordered Oven Roasted Tomatoes & Fresh Mozzarella Sandwich and Roasted Beet Salad — good food but unfortunately quite small portions. Baby Lamb Chops and Dry Aged Rib Steak were great.

Went to their second happy hour on Friday night and enjoyed a pomegranate sangria with a side of oysters. Totally felt like an old school joint with locals and bonus points for us for it being down the street. Will have to come back to check out the steak selection!

Steak was good but not a good value. The décor is dated but the service was good. I would recommend the bacon appetizer(odd item for an appetizer but so yummy).

So far we have only been there during happy hour but both the drinks and food have been delicious. The bartender and staff have always been great and welcoming. We intend to visit this place often.

I’m a Manhattan girl so when a fine dining establishment put the word«Steakhouse» in their title and has survived the city with 7,000 restaurant options I think 2 things 1: The food is great or 2: They locked in a 30 year lease that’s lower that Kim K’s morals. So crossing into Jersey was out of my comfort zone but I was feeling adventurous. Now for THEBREAKDOWN The dining room is dimly lit and romantic especially with the low marble ceilings, leather booth, candle lit tables and dark wooden floors and Jazz lightly played that magically fills the room seals the deal. Perfect location for a guy to impress a girl on a date, whisper sweet nothings in her ear and possible commit to an exclusive relationship. Can get a tad bit noisy when they’re at full capacity but you won’t have to yell at the person you’re with, just speak up… don’t worry you’ll survive. Now the food was hit or miss, like the appetizers were good I had tomato and mozzarella but you can’t really screw up that dish and spring rolls which were tasty. The porterhouse steak which was was more medium well than medium(what I ordered) was subpar and left a weird taste in my mouth at the end… very disappointing. Then the desert came out and I saw heaven. Heaven was in the form of crème brûlée and cheesecake so they redeemed themselves cause the fat girl inside me was dancing and singing praises. Now onto the drinks… I annoyingly sampled everyone’s drinks and these drinks were tasty and strong aka they don’t go light on the alcohol. The service is however was questionable. We were a party of 4 but 10 minutes after being seated and waiting for our 4th guest to arrive the waiter said«You need to hurry up and order because it’s restaurant week and we have 100 – 150 covers tonight and I’ll need this table» First off we weren’t walk in’s but had a reservation, second, we were ordering from the full menu and third that’s rude!!! So my companion got up to have a word with the manager. You simple don’t tell paying customers to hurry up cause you’re trying to make as much money tonight as possible. The manager assigned a new waiter and even tended to our table. He was apologetic and easy on the eyes(that’s a hint of the ladies)…Good save. The new waiter was attentive and from what I observed you’re not gonna have to run down the wait staff to order and get a drink. My Verdict: Cause they’ve established themselves as a steakhouse they should have perfected their craft and I shouldn’t have left utterly disappointed. The bar is a ‘scene’ so come for drinks and stick to dishes they can’t royally screw up. I gave them 3 stars because I wanted to give them 2 ½ stars but that’s not an option. Maybe one day I’ll give them another try…

Good steaks at a decent price. Not Peter Luger, but they serve the stuff the way they should. Offers the standard steakhouse food without any surprises. The winelist is pretty decent. Couple of points: 1. The back room on the main floor gets very loud sometimes and you struggle to have a conversation. 2. The wait staff needs a bit more education for the pricing… Reaching across the table to clean plates while we are still working, and doing so multiple times is a BIGNO. Similarly, talking down to your guests is frequently underappreciated. 3. The crowd is mixed. Some people know how to eat at restaurants, but there are always a few that struggle with basic restaurant etiquette.

Many times have my wife and I enjoyed and looked forward to dining at Edward’s. The service makes you forget that you’re in Jersey City. If you are fortunate, your server will carry the name of Paul, but many here will offer the same distinguished service. As far as how good is Edward’s, I am a firm believer that at any given night in Manhattan, one can get the best steak at any one of the top steakhouses. At Edward’s, that very same potential holds true. The wine list exceeds my meager expectations and desserts are worth the wait.

By Far one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. I had the Surf and Turf with a side of mashed potatoes and it was Absolutely Amazing! Lots of regulars who were extremely down to earth and friendly and very friends staff. Stacy was tending Bar and Pat who I believe was the manager made my dinner experience great! Both very friendly! I’ll definitely be coming back once a week for a phenomenal Meal.

My faith in humanity has been restored. Our Friday night dinner with friends at Edwards could not have been better. Everything from the low key bar atmosphere(home made potato chips!) to the classic dining room upstairs was right on target. The appetizers(tuna tartar, onion soup and w wedge salad) were delicious. The entrees of filet mignon and ribeye were prepared to perfection. The hash brown is a keeper. The wine list was straight and to the point and not overpriced. Any restaurant that offers Ridge knows what they are doing. Glad you guys are back. This is my go to spot for good people and better food.

If you are looking for a true restaurant experience with great food, experienced waitstaff and perfect ambiance, check out Edward’s. It is old school without being stuffy or boring, like steakhouses can sometimes be. We had a party of 13 people and the service was outstanding. Waitstaff checked on the table often without being annoying. The food was perfect — we had a wide range of orders from seafood to vegetarian options to, of course, steak and it was all delish and cooked right to order. The waiter recommended the sharing seafood appetizer and it was outstanding. We didn’t have dessert this time around but when we do have dessert there, I love their icebox cake!

My gf and I checked this out for restaurant week and then came back two weeks later for my birthday. This steakhouse will not let you down. Edwards has hands-down one of the best filets in NY/NJ. When I came back, I got the surf and turf, which is the 5 oz filet and lobster. I highly recommend this entrée! They’re chocolate mousse dessert is to die for too! The service here is incredible as well as each waiter is attentive to your needs. The only downfall is the restaurant is a bit pricey across the board. I recommend coming here for a special occasion.

This place probably used to be great, but this last experience really turned me off. The pork chop pizzaiola is actually pretty good — but the waiter asked how I’d like it cooked and suggested medium — it came out well done. Still tasted good, but don’t offer medium then cook it well done. My fiancée had the 6 oz filet and mini potato hockey puck — the steak was super small — which is fine, but don’t charge $ 32 for it. That’s just nuts. Then I decided to order broccoli because a table near us ordered and they got a really decent sized portion for $ 9. Mine was 4 large florets and when I asked about it the waiter just told me that everything is pre-portioned and weighed out. No — the other table definitely got more. There are lots of other steakhouses nearby to get your steak-fix on.

I had the privilege of coming here on several occasions, many, many months ago. Jersey City has quite a few gem restaurants and this happened to be one of them. The first couple of times eating here, as I mentioned some time ago, I had the ribeye and then lamb chops, both were cooked perfectly. Both served with a bottle or two of red wine, plus the usual staple steakhouse sides, hashed and/or mashed potatoes, onion strings, forest mushrooms, haricot verts, which all respectively rounded out each meal nicely. The service, from what I recall, complimented the dining experience. Dinner those few times were expensive, but worth it. I love the fact that the restaurant is located in a brownstone/townhouse, very unique setting. Though the ambience seems to be holding its own, their food standards, according to some Unilocalers, seems to have gone down some since my last visits. So, if you’re in JC and looking for a quaint steakhouse in a brownstone building, draw your own opinion by stopping by here. Overall: 3.5

Restaurant week stopover. Came highly recommended but sadly did not live up to the hype. $ 40 for a four course meal was great. Everything was delicious except for the steak… unfortunately that was the main event. My app of filet mignon spring roll was very crispy and paired well with a tangy tartar sauce. Had a watermelon salad topped with feta cheese and crushed walnuts. A dessert of crème brûlée. I had the Delmonico steak for an entrée but the steak felt like a cheap cut of meat and was over cooked to my liking(I prefer medium rare). The best part of the entrée was the side of hash brown medallion which was scrumptiously crispy! I should’ve gone with the porterhouse for two.

I made reservations for Valentines day and definitely do not regret it. They honored my reservations and actually seated me a bit earlier. The service was on top of everything, not too pushy, and did a great job with presentation. I and my lady ordered the(surf and turf) lobster and filet mignon. The filet mignon was cooked to order with crispy outer edges. The lobster and steak were both marinated to perfection. Now when it comes to pricing that plate I ordered was 50 $. So if you do not mind spending a little more then this will be a great experience.
