Alterations are pricey. They quoted $ 80 to take in a jacket, and $ 60 to have it hemmed. That’s 4x what I paid for, so nope. I brought five pairs of jeans to hemmed, and only gave $ 1 off per piece. They priced at $ 16/pair, and that’s not even with the original hem. I wasn’t in a rush to get them back(they had the entire week), but when I went back to get them, they weren’t ready so I had to wait. They are very friendly people though.

I’ve come here to get my keys duplicated and my pants dry-cleaned. The cost for the key duplication varies by key shape but for my keys it’s $ 3 per key. Dry-cleaning is $ 5.75 for pants. They did a pretty good job but turn-around is somewhat slow(three business days).

What a sigh of relief this dry cleaners is after dealing with Newport Cleaners for so long. The staff are friendly and I have yet to have a delay with getting my dry/cleaning or alterations on-time. Jon’s takes all credit cards(more importantly they do it without giving you grief), and don’t make you put on outrageous deposit on the cleaning account to use the card. I am glad I made the change!

Terrible place! Lost my dry cleaning. Unapologetic, rude, complete disregard towards customer service. Still seeking a reliable dry cleaner in the area!

I went there with four dresses to be altered… and wouldn’t go back. One turned out perfectly — they took off the sleeves. The other three were done so poorly that I could have done it as well myself if I had a sewing machine. The real turn off was the price — $ 30 to take in a basic jersey dress and that is with a discount I asked for! Way to expensive for average work.

Horrible. I decided to go to this dry cleaners because it was located in Newport Centre and it was opened late. Before I went in I called to get an estimate for the dry cleaning of my curtains. I was told my the young man who works the counter the cost of curtain cleaning runs between $ 25-$ 30. That night, I went to drop off my curtains, as well as a coat to have cleaned. The woman there told me it would be $ 100 to have my curtains cleaned-more than they cost to buy them! When I asked why she told me it was because they were silk-which they werent. When I went to show her the tag which read«Faux Silk,» she pointed it out to make trying to ‘convince’ me they were in fact silk. After I had to explain to her what ‘faux’ meant she decided she would give me ten dollars off. $ 90 to clean polyester curtains! Nowhere near what I paid to have my curtains cleaned it the past. Since I had already lugged my curtains and coat all the way there and I wanted them cleaned before the weekend I decided to just allow them to clean my items this one time and never go back again. Well, sure enough, one day before I was supposed to pick them up, I got a phone call from the same woman leaving me a voicemail that they could not clean my curtains because the«color would run in the washer.» Im not a dry cleaner, but I thought the whole point of ‘dry cleaning’ is that the items do not get put in a washer-that they are ‘dry’ cleaned. Maybe Im wrong. I had to go back pick up all of my curtain panels again and lug them elsewhere. Not to mention it was days later and of course they were not going to be done by the weekend as I had originally planned. . Save yourself the trouble-go elsewhere. I have since found another dry cleaner downtown which is opened 24 hours/day and is within a ‘normal’ price range for dry cleaning! Count the one star for the coat I had cleaned which came out satisfactory.

I won’t be going back here. I brought in a silk bathrobe, which cost close to $ 13 to be dry cleaned. When I got it home, I saw that they had stapled a piece of paper to my bathrobe, ruining that part of the fabric. Seriously?! I could have found a cheaper place that likely would have taken better care of my item. I’ve had this robe for years and have been very gentle with its care, and the dry cleaners messed it up. Unacceptable. I also at the same time asked for a minor alteration, and I was told that they weren’t sure if the tailor could do it. But I was promised a phone call for an update. A few days went by, and nothing. I then called a couple of hours before closing time, and the entire dry cleaning/alterations staff was out. I finally gave up. When I picked up the item, I was told the tailor couldn’t perform the alteration. It would have been nice to receive a phone call as promised.

Never had a bad experience with the place. Usually drycleaners are run by foreigners who may have trouble with their English but are very friendly. The alteration person there is awesome. Wouldn’t go anywhere else Also, alot of people don’t take Amex. Maybe its time to sign up for a new card.

A mall dry cleaners means that they are open until 9PM Monday — Saturday. That was the only reason why I chose to go to Jon’s Cleaners. Jon’s Cleaners in Newport Mall also does alterations, pick up and delivery service. They even make keys! Sounds great. A one stop shop. If only they knew what they were doing. I had two pillow cases dry cleaned and the woman did not know what to charge me. We stood in silence as she tried to type something in her computer but it was coming out all wrong. I waited for 10 minutes. Her partner came over to help her out and the computer spit out a receipt. She crossed out the word«TIE» on the receipt and tried to write pillow but she didn’t know how to spell it. P-I-L-L-O-W I told her. The cost was $ 20. So it costs $ 10 per tie and pillow to be dry cleaned? Kinda expensive if you ask me. My silk shirt only cost $ 5. I don’t remember what the other dry cleaners charged me(definitely not $ 10 per piece) but I didn’t feel like making a stink about it. I just wanted my cases cleaned. I returned later in the week to pick up my stuff and my credit card was declined. Declined? Why? Jon’s Cleaners does not accept American Express. Stick to Newport Dry Cleaners. They’ve been around the block longer and have more to offer.
