Beautiful baked goods, yummy gelato and the staff was friendly and welcoming to me and my family. They made cotton candy for our kids for free and offered tastes of various items, so that we could make the best choices. We had brunch there and everything was made to order, fresh and hot. Nice little find in the middle of Jersey City!

Ruined my daughters first birthday. Paid almost $ 400 for the cake, it looked nothing like the reference photos I sent, it was decorated sloppy and tasted terrible. I don’t think the Baker I thought was doing my cake actually did it, because the portfolio she showed me was way better than what I received. Never again and now warn every person I know not to get cake from them! Had so much cake leftover and just threw it in the garbage. I got a better cake from bjs bake shop.

I love this place, the staff is very friendly and they have a great selection of drinks, sandwiches and even cake. This place is nice and relaxing to enjoy just about anything. I would definitely recommend their red velvet cakes for any birthday or occasion!

This is probably the 3rd or 4th time I’ve been here and I’ve never had a problem. Their cupcakes were awesome the last time I went and they had this heavenly almond cupcake. Mmmmm. But it seems to be different people cooking the food because the cupcakes tasted old and the frosting tasted like pure shortening with a little confectioners sugar added in. The French macarons were ehh. They tasted old and were crumbly. The gelato is pretty good. If I were to go back. I’ll stick with the gelato. The people are really nice though.

Came by on a whim because I desperately needed coffee while waiting for a brunch table nearby. Such a great find! Coffee was perfect, and the pastries hit the spot! They have baklava too but I didn’t get a chance to try it – will certainly grab some next time.

This place seems to be under new management. My coworkers tell me the gelato is worth going for however I can only base my review on their baked good. Specifically I tried the Oreo cheesecake and chocolate mouse. It tasted like it was bought at a supermarket and not baked fresh. I give them two stars though because they do have a lot to choose from

Came in with my daughter after a loooong week & a major sweet tooth. We got the red velvet gelato which was very sweet but definitely creamy. I think the cream cheese part made it too sweet. The folded in red velvet was delicious. We also got(yes there’s more) a chocolate mousse covered with a dark chocolate shell and mini crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was delicious and the mousse treat was a bit of the bitter and sweet chocolate which was nice. My only qualm was the garnish. They used royal icing as the finishing touch… Ruined it!(But maybe that is because I hate royal icing.)Made everything waaay to sweet. I just took it off. The owner? Was nice & my total bill was 15 bucks.(I got a large gelato cup) We will be back.

I was driving by this area and saw this shop. I went in and saw a variety of cakes, pastries, and chocolates. I was also surprised of the different unique menu of flavors they have for their smoothies. I decided to get their peach pear apricot and ws disappointed. The drink was not made into a smoothie consistency and tasted like Snapple.

We stumbled upon this place after doing a rainy 5K walk to support animal cancer. We were cold and wet and the family that owns this business was kind and welcoming and fed us such a delicious meal! Some of us had egg and cheese sandwiches and some of us had wraps and subs. All of the food was excellent. And of course, we all had desserts! We had delectable pastries made in-house, yummy gelato and a mango-butternut squash smoothie that was outstanding! We’ll definitely be back.

Just moved around the corner and stopped in on a Saturday night. I think it’s a family run business, and you can see the owners making all the pastries throughout the day. Super friendly. We got a piece of original cheesecake and it was really good… and way less expensive than the«fancy» bakeries around the neighborhood. I can believe that there is new management here because this place currently would never warrant ½ star ratings. Go in for anything fresh, in a no-pressure atmosphere. Their cakes look amazing.

I ordered cupcakes for a friend’s birthday for delivery. The ordering process was extremely smooth, the delivery time was very reasonable & when I called to check the status of the order the gentleman I spoke to was very helpful & friendly! My friend loved the cupcakes, and said they tasted great :-)

Wonderful bakery, lovely new owners, open regular hours and all weekend. Made the most fabulous delicious freshest cake for a special event Best price! Great ice cream, gelato, coffee, cookies, I think their brownies and cupcakes are amazing. A few tables to sit and enjoy. Great addition to our neighborhood. Stay local!

I’m all about supporting local businesses but their cupcakes weren’t good at all. It really tasted like a refrigerated cupcake and didn’t seem fresh at all. What I also found confusing was how none of the cupcakes were labeled. How is anyone suppose to know? The place is really cute though and has a nice feel to it but they really need to rethink the quality of food their producing. Also what’s up with the Fiber One packets on the counter. Hopefully when I try again in the next few months the cupcakes taste better.

Presentation was beautiful which is what draws you in, however, I almost had to force myself to finish the cupcake I ordered. The icing should never be that difficult to bite into and there was absolutely no taste to the«vanilla» cupcake, not to mention the staleness. I wanted to love this place, as it is so close to my home but I highly doubt I would ever go back. Sadly disappointed. My co-worker came with me and the feeling was mutual as far as quality.

Went here yesterday for an emergency birthday cake and the woman working the front desk and chef were really accommodating. I told the chef I needed a cake to feed 15 – 20, told her what flavors I was looking for and she told me she’d have it ready in an hour. I came back in a little over an hour and my cake was ready for pick up. I got a chocolate cake with strawberry filling and whipped cream frosting… it was delicious… like a giant whoopie pie! Excellent service, very reasonable prices, will be back soon to try other pastries/cakes! Thanks again!

Ugh. Have been passing by this place for months and finally got a chance to try it. The cake«parfaits» looked yummy. I bought the red velvet and the strawberry shortcake. First, both were bunches of cake crumbs and loads of Crisco-type icing. The strawberry short cake didn’t even have real strawberries… just pie filling. In order to make better use of cake that is trimmed to make specialty cakes, guess this is where it ends up. At $ 5 a pop, I could get a better and cheaper cake at Walmart. Very disappointing for a boutique bakery in downtown JC.

A really cute local bake shop, but I wish the food was better! We stopped by to get breakfast and some coffee after learning about this business through a Groupon. I ordered the ham and cheese omlette and by husband got the quesadillas. I wish they had offered salt and paper/ketchup with this. Also the omelette only came with basic white bread(they did not offer a variation in toast) and the quesadillas come with nothing. They did bring out jam for the toast. They are a little overpriced when compared to what you will get for your money at a diner(Brownstone is right next door). Service was decent. We tried the carrot cake pop which didn’t taste too fresh(the outside shell was really hard), so I have to agree with the other review that the desserts are stale.

So cute! I wandered into this place after breakfast at Brownstone Diner across the street. The décor is bright and welcoming and the cases were well stocked. One of the bakers came out to ask if I had questions and kindly offered me a macaron to nibble while I browsed. It was a little heartier than others iv’e had(3 or 4 bites) and at $ 1 and change each, a good deal. I ended up with a slice of Guinness cake for St. Patty’s Day. The cake was moist and the buttercream was smooth and not too sweet. I look forward to going back for a coffee and a treat soon.

Long story short — don’t buy any sort of fancy cake here! My friend ordered a cake 6 weeks out. She gave the manager a photo and they said they could make it with no problems. We also needed it by 1pm the day of the party and confirmed the pick up several times. The highlights of the awful experience: — cake not ready until after 3pm — they ran out of gold icing, so the gold cake looked more yellow than gold — shoddy work! Uneven details, sloppy placement and completely amateur looking. The girl making the cake called in a friend to help because she was so behind — HERFRIENDHASNEVERMADE A CAKE! — granted, this was not the fault of the girls there. Poor management. The head baker, manager and owner were nowhere to be found — no box given for cake until we insisted we weren’t leaving without one If you can’t make a cake, don’t say you can and then absolutely ruin it. Thank god the venue and dark and no one noticed.

I can’t love this place… just yet. The pastries, when baked fresh(BIGCAVEAT) are simply superb(non-traditionally shaped apple turnovers are the best I’ve had). Unfortunately, they’re not always baked fresh — I have had more than my share of stale croissants and danishes here It would be more efficient if they let you put the milk yourself(to avoid repeated trips to the counter or having a coffee that’s too light). Also, they need to straighten out the area where you put the sugar — it’s usually sticky due to the agave bottle & the napkin dispenser is usually empty. Also the garbage pale is too small — you can’t decant your coffee into it and discarded sugar packets are littered around it. Also, it takes them awhile to wrap your order and charge you(esp. when you pay by credit card — $ 10 minimum strictly enforced). However, I think most of these are due getting the kinks out. This place is a delight to visit(I’ve seen kids squeal in delight when they come in lol) & is still worth checking out. P.S. Sweet baby jeebus in a chicken basket — their brownies are DELICIOUS.
