This is the best halal cart I’ve ever eaten at. Great portions and even better flavours. Gyro cheaper by a dollar than the NYC carts. You r ally need to have the chicken over rice here. The cart owners are really friendly people. I’m almost addicted.

The food is great. I’ve been there twice. My husband went once without me. We get the combo with extra white sauce and a little hot sauce. Their hot sauce is hot. Very inexpensive $ 6 for the combo and a beverage. It’s across the street from st. Michaels cathedral. I normally GPS Public school 31 and it’s a block past that.

Amazing Lamb on Rice. Hot sauce is really hot, I will ask for a little next time. But fits well in this brutally cold weather. White sauce is good. Rice with Jeera seeds is amazingly satisfying. I think they forgot to give me the soda but for $ 6 cannot complain.

One of my favorite Halal Gyro carts in Jersey City. It’s different from typical cart food from NYC. All in all you cannot find a good deal for $ 6 with a soda. Two Gyro plates are good for 3 guys!

This Halal food cart, which has changed locations a couple of times, offers basic, but tasty food at a very basic price. My usual dishes here are the chicken gyro, mix(chicken/lamb) over rice, and during Lent, their falafel sandwich. Their gyros/pita sandwiches consist of choice of protein, lettuce, and white and/or hot sauces and cost a mere $ 4. Rice platters include the same except with even more protein and a free can of soda. At $ 6, the price is proportionate to the extras you receive. The cart is notably less greasy than most of the carts I have tried in the city. It by no means is attempting to compete with the food trucks located throughout downtown JC and NYC. The owners are quite friendly and often hold conversations with regulars like myself. With regards to its location, this cart is now located on Kennedy Blvd between Brooks Pl and St. Paul’s Ave, across the street from St. John the Baptist Church. It apparently was forced to move twice due to a nearby resident, who is apparently friends with Mayor Steve Fulop and wanted them transported away from a more easily accessible location.(The story has been corroborated by numerous folks who live in my building and are familiar with said resident.) While their food certainly isn’t the healthiest, I make it a point to support these folks in part because of said issue. Such behavior has no place in Jersey City; we pride ourselves in being among the most diverse cities in the world.

This is my go to spot for my chicken/lamb over rice fix. I would rate this place higher than Halal Guys, simply because the chicken is seasoned and the the rice used is different. For $ 6 you can get chicken/lamb over rice with a can of soda or water. Pita bread is an extra 50 cents. **The Cart has moved across the street from the Church**

I have tried the chicken over rice, sandwich and falafel here. I am yet to try the lamb. The chicken always seems fresh and the few times I had the falafel, they served it piping hot! You can get falafel separately for 50 cents each. The rice items come with a free soda! The hot sauce and white sauce are good but definitely not great! Since its very conveniently located close to home and the nearest halal cart in the area, I end up eating from here quite a lot! The guys manning the cart are friendly!
