I had a late dinner here once while covering a late night project. Ate at the bar where the server was a chill dude, talking sports and explaining the menu specials.

Closed?! I can’t believe it! I was just thinking about going there tonight for their great pizza. Well there’s still the West Village location, great excuse to take a PATH ride to NYC.

Decent food. Service/delivery, absolutely awful. I would probably order more frequently if I didn’t consistently get my food cold and two hours late. How can you run a restaurant like that is beyond me.

Well, I had the kids last night and decided to give Uno’s another shot. I took a shot in the foot. It started off good. We got seated. The waiter took our order. The food came and things slowly went downhill. 1. Upon the food arriving, I asked for a small plate so I could put the food on it for my two year old. The waiter acknowledged that I asked for it, left to go get it and I didn’t see her for the rest of the night. I deducted 2% from the tip. 2. This was my fault. I forgot to ask for a booster seat for my two year old. So once the food came, while waiting for the plate to appear, I remembered to request the booster seat. I got out of my seat and hunted down another waiter since the other waiter went MIA. I found the waiter who took our drink order and asked her to get me a seat. She left to go get it and I didn’t see her for most of the night. I saw her on the way out. I deducted 2% more from the tip. No one came by to ask how things were. If they did, I would have told them and they would have gotten their full tip. I hate stiffing working people on the tips considering the tips are split with the bus boy and the waiter(s) but enough is enough. I know that as an employer you have to cut cost, but at what price?

It’s horrible how bad the food was, I had the crab cakes entrée for dinner, mashed potatoes and corn — the stick of bread was like wet cardboard that was baked, the mashed potatoes was mashed but I’m not sure it was potatoes — the corn was dry, a can of Goya would have been better, if I didn’t know that I ordered crab cakes I would have had to wonder what meat I had instead of crab — the best thing about this mean was the club soda I ordered — at least it wasn’t flat — Richie Etwaru

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I went there with a friend for lunch a week ago and had a less than pleasant dining experience. We enter the restaurant and there is no host or hostess to greet and find us a table. We stood around for a bit before someone noticed us. Then we waited for quite a while before our waitress came over to get our drink orders. Other than a group of 10 at a table, there was practically no one else in the restaurant. Things went downhill from here. She tells us the beer on tap, takes our orders and then goes away to presumably put the order in. 15 minutes later we are wondering where she is… and comes to inform us our choices of beer on tap are out. She takes new drink orders, still doesnt take our entrée orders… another ten minutes later she comes back and tells us that AGAIN they are out of the alternate drink choices we made. We end up settling for bottled beer. Entrée orders are in finally. We finish our beer long before our entrees arrive. My friend’s burger is fine however the grilled chicken sandwich I ordered is raw in the middle. I am a little appalled as I have become seriously sick in the past from undercooked chicken. The waitress took my food and returned it to the kitchen to be remade. In the end the food was nothing worth writing home about. For being a chain restaurant, I expected at least mediocre overall… this place was just awful. I will never return to this establishment.

The food was ok, but they made us change tables after we had ordered because some rude customers wanted to rearrange tables.

Typical chain food restaurant and I don’t mean that in a bad way. I know what the menu is and I obviously come here because they serve up what I want. I’ve been to this location twice on slow nights for dinner and the service is just terrible. How the heck does your server not revisit your table to find out if you need anything? The place is practically empty! It seems they use the downtime to get ahead on their cleaning and restocking so that they can leave right when their shift ends. If not for the crappy service I would have given this place a higher rating.

Husband and I really didn’t want to come here, but his 3 work colleagues did, so we obliged. Our waitress was pretty pleasant and patient, given the fact that the 3 guys were from a different country and had difficulty speaking English. After the drink orders were placed, we proceeded to peruse the menu. It seems that this chain is making an attempt to offer healthier alternatives than what I last remembered. I decided to order the Lobster and Shrimp Scampi over Spaghetti dish, and Husband ordered their Classic Chicago Deep Dish pizza. The other guys ordered steaks and we all split a sampler appetizer. The appetizer was terrible, and for the price, totally not worth it. There were 3 mozzarella sticks, a couple wings, french fries, a guacamole chimichanga of some sort. They were all overcooked, dry, and not plentiful. The pasta dish was not bad, but there was definitely not enough lobster there. There were a decent number of shrimp, but for the price of $ 18.95, I expected more lobster. The deep dish pizza(individual size priced at $ 10.99) was ridiculous. It wasn’t even prepared properly where the cheese is baked over the tomato filling. It looked like they just opened up a can of tomatoes and dumped it all on the crust and scattered some cheese on top of it. It was soggy and pretty much fell apart when cutting into it. Last time I had Chicago-style pizza, I remember that it was not like this. I will not be coming back to this place, as the food really wasn’t good with the exception of the pasta being passable, and the service was too slow, and it took forever for us to get our bill. I’ve never really been fond of this chain, and this place cemented that thought for me.

i wish this had a negative star scale. let’s just say this. over the summer, i was craving a cheeseburger and fries. options were 5 guys(the most obvious choice) or uno… i opted for uno. um, wrongo. WRONGO i say!!! DONOTEATINTHISESTABLISHMENTEVER… YOUHAVEBEENWARNED! after i placed my order with the to-go waitress — i felt ok. she was nice, nothing shady happening yet. but as soon as i directed my attention towards the kitchen, that’s when i lost it. who else has seen an employee reach into customers to-go boxes and eats their food?! anyone? anyone?! I HAVE and let me tell you, it’s not pretty. in fact, i was repulsed so much so i ended up tweeting about it and having the district manager claim to go out there and investigate the situation. i did inform the manager on duty, she asked if i wanted to order something else instead. AREYOUNUTS i said to her?! seriously? no thanks. sure, the day wasn’t looking good for anyone but i’ll be damned if this person gets off that easy. the manager said she’s going to fire that dude on the spot, not sure if that happened or not. i left there with my refund and shaky as ever because of what happened… inexcusable.

My sister was in town, and she always raves about how uno is not like other chains, and i would actually like it. So, what the hell, it’s a few blocks away and I’ve always wondered how it survived around here — we tried it. The service was average for a chain, but average for a chain is far below what I expect when out to eat. My beer was half flat, and they didn’t exactly have much of a selection in the first place. The food was an even greater disappointment. Appetizers are all low quality food fried enough that people think it’s somewhat tasty. Chicken was so overdone and dry it was barely edible. I just don’t see why anyone would come here. Whenever I walk by at night, I see a few sad souls sitting at the bar, and I pity them… who can live in a neighborhood like this and not go somewhere better? What brings people down so much to actually come here? Oh well. I know I won’t ever again.

One of the few places in the area that’s open past 10 pm. Our waitress was very friendly and recommended the fish and chips, although we were craving other things so didn’t go with her recommendation in the end. I’m curious to come back to try that dish though. We got the wildberry mango smoothie, which was more strawberry than any other berry or mango. The french onion soup was a bit salty, but not bad in the end. The clam chowder was also pretty standard and good. My mom liked the white beans with shrimp, and both my brother and I got the shrimp with steak. I liked the broccoli side, but the steamed vegetable side was too bland. The shrimp and the steak were both just slightly overcooked, but tasted fine. This place is chill and open late, and the food isn’t bad but it also will not wow you.

It’s exactly what you’d expect it to be based on what it sounds like — a family style American restaurant catering to the mainstream. I’ve come here for lunch with colleagues, as the lunch prix fixe lunch menu is within bounds of toleration, but each day’s special stays that way forever. I don’t mind the deep dish pizzas, the five grain flatbread pizzas, and sometimes the soups(which never change, but do provide unlimited refills for those so inclined). I found the salads annoying — I like my lettuce green and not with a whitish hue, but that’s just me. Don’t go out to eat here for your honeymoon, but it’s okay for lunch, if you don’t mind Plain Jane food preparations.

I love their Numero Uno Pizza. It is one of their signature deep dish pies with different meats and veggies. What makes their pizzas great in general is the generous amount of cheese, sauce and toppings that accompany it. This specific Uno’s has fantastic service as well. Even when they are very busy, I never wait more than 10 minutes to be seated, 1 minute to be greeted, 2 minutes to receive my drink and 15 minutes to get the food; and if they are slow they move much quicker. The servers are always pleasant and the managers assure you are enjoying your meal. The only thing that keeps this from being rated 5 stars is the simple fact that it is a chain and it does suffer from that bland instant-restaurant ambiance and routine i.e. the food is good, but there is not special about this place.

My friends and I were in the neighborhood for a quick eat before catching a movie in Elizabeth so we opted for uno. Being Friday night in jersey City, the place was pretty quiet. We decided to sit at the bar to make things quicker and easier. To my surprise… no flat screen tvs with hd? Is uno stuck in the 90’s? What’s going on here? Bottom Line: Food was good, the bartender was nice, prices were okay, but what’s up with the tvs? I mean I could be being picky or a little spoiled for going to places with hd sports on, but uno has to step it up.

Uno’s has a great lunch special which provides unlimited soup and a list of 5⁄7 dishes to pick from. I usually pick the deep dish pizza which they are know because it has Chicago food style. Aside from the lunch specials, it has slow service for the lunch crowd and the host wasn’t that helpful. If you are looking for take out, the double up special which is two deep dish pizzas for $ 20 or two thin-crust for $ 14. The double up special is a good deal for deep dish pizza. If you don’t want to eat in, just take out.

Epic Fails on so many level. I think my coworkers and I have gone to Unos maybe twice thinking that it would get better. But no — it get’s worst and worst. The food is terrible. I ordered a deep dish pasta and it tasted disgusting. Not impressed at all. My coworkers had some salad(that contained wayyy tooo many nuts in it), some sort of short ribs(that more or less tasted like jerky), and a cheddar cheese burger(that had no cheddar cheese). DISGUSTING In addition to all that mess, their service is terrible. The girls there look like they’re barely out of high school and have major attitude. Even they look like they don’t want to be there. Girls, if you don’t want to be there — then don’t work there! One of my coworkers had finished their drink midway through the meal and the waitress waited until the END when we were ready to leave to give him a refill. Tsk tsk tsk. When we ordered some of us had ordered the unlimited soup(which is only available until 3PM). Our waitress failed to tell us we can go and get the soup AND not tell us they would be taking the soups away at 2:55PM on the dot. Not impressive at all. Only reason I go is because our bosses pay for the lunches. Ugh if it wasn’t for that — why bother wasting my time. Do not go to Unos. You’ll just leave feeling disappointed. happy eatings~

I really wanted to leave this place with a stellar experience — I was dying to try out their gluten free pizza, which I did. The texture of it was all wrong… more like a thin pie crust than pizza. One of the managers really took care of us after she realized I’m gluten free, but our waiter was«off». When I asked what the«drink of the day was», rather than describe it, he tried to talk me into something I didn’t want. Confused, I wound up drinking water. My partner ordered a lobster/shrimp pasta dish that came with an appetizer and dessert for an extra $ 3. The appetizer didn’t have enough chips to eat the entire dish of dip, the lobster in the pasta was terribly fishy(good lobster doesn’t taste like that), and the dessert was ok(he had the bananas foster). But before we ordered dessert, I asked how large it was as we were going to split it with the kids. Rather than tell me how large it was, he tried to get me to get another dessert in addition to it.(Never a good thing to suggest in front of KIDS!). We refused, but he seemed to keep pushing. It was fine for the 4 of us. We’ll likely come back now and then as the kids liked it, but I didn’t really think the food & experience was as good as other Unos that we’ve dined at. If it weren’t for the manager attentiveness I would have given this place 2 stars.

Omg. Horrible service. We went after work one day and asking for a fork was like we asked for their first unborn child. Idk why but the waiter was not in the mood to be around people… which is hard if you work in a restaurant. it was about 8pm and not very busy, a weekday. soooo… what was up with the«grrrrrr» lol. i’ve been before and it’s a regular decent chain restaurant. but seriously, that’s what it is. a chain. so might as well go to a chain that has people who don’t hate their job. If we weren’t starving and had not ordered already(and not so scared of the waiter), we were going to get burgers next door. I don’t like eating like that. i just got out of work and i’m sorry about asking for a fork. it was so odd it was almost kinda funny because i asked her if she knew the waiter. «like was he your exboyfriend you cheated on or something that i don’t know about?»

The food is not bad(we had the Uno’s Signature Pizza — regular sized), but our waiter was just awful. I think it was the same person that Sharon L. had. Our waiter was tall and bald. I THINK his name was Dave*(read from his name tag, not because he introduced himself) and having him as our server was just an awful experience. He came up to the table and we had a few questions about the size of the pizza and a few other things(like what the soup of the day was). He cut us off mid-sentence and said«let me get your drink orders first,» then walked away immediately before we could ask our questions. He made zero eye contact, and when he came back with our waters, he set them down and walked away without a word. Same with the plates(which were still wet). When he came back for the order, he attempted to make small talk about the iphone, which we had out, but you could tell he didn’t give a damn and was just practicing acting like a normal person(MAJORFAIL). Why the 3 stars, you ask? Well, the bus boy(who was unfortunately not wearing a name tag so I can’t give him a personal shout-out) was really awesome. He saw us using our napkins to wipe down the wet plates, and just came by with a stack of napkins(unasked). He was great about refilling our water, and bringing us a take-out box and bag very quickly. There was also the nice lady who brought our deep dish pizza to the table. She was not wearing one of the blue server shirts(her shirt was gray and she was wearing a head-set, maybe a manager?) but she was very friendly. Normally, with such bad service from our server(even though the food was decent), I would rate this place 2 stars, but we saw SO little of our rude server, and all the other helpers were very nice, so overall, our experience was salvaged. If I ever come back, I will specifically request NOT to be put at one of Dave’s* tables. — — — — — — — — — — — — — – *I’m pretty sure his name was Dave(but if I’m wrong about the name, my apologies to Dave) — Just look for the guy with a bald head, he’s pretty tall(5’8″ or so). That’s the one to avoid!
