Trying to find food when during a snow storm when you didn’t get to the grocery is a feat. Fortunately Babylon was open. I love mediterranean food and am so happy to find some good hummus in JC. Plenty of veggie options. I can’t wait until the weather warms up to try out the patio.

I love this place! They are kind to my husband and I everytime I go in. The service is great and the food is always good. You can definitely split a meal with an appetizer(the hummus is incredible.) And, ANNNNDDD, they can do almost anything gluten free. Frier never had gluten in it so you can have fries and chicken(which they batter with chickpea flour.) Plus on the weekend they have a gluten free shortbread cake! Celiacs rejoice!

Although the ancient city of Babylon lies in what is now Iraq, I would consider the cuisine served here more aligned with Lebanese style food. It’s a great option to have in Johnson City, where ethnic food options are somewhat limited. Everyone in the group I was with were very pleased with everything ordered. I had the chicken tikka and it was very good, although I do prefer the Indian style tikka with Tandori and naan. I found that the appetizers were particularly good here though, you can’t go wrong with any of them. Service was great. My only criticism really is the atmosphere — I think even by dimming the light a little bit and using a warmer lighting arrangement, the restaurant would be more relaxing and inviting.

What a lucky find! This was some of the best food I’ve had since my trip to Greece a couple of years ago. The kabobs were delicious. We had the mixed kabobs – chicken, lamb, and beef. All good! The pita bread straight from the wood fired oven was exceptional and the humus too! If I lived near, I would definitely frequent this restaurant.

I’ve eaten here many times and I totally dig their vegetarian stews and every dish I’ve tried. Especially the falafel… its the best I’ve had anywhere. That being said, I just went there tonight and noticed that the humus is not up to the usual standard. A small percentage of actual garanzo beans mixed in with something else… white beans?

Ordered the Kabob Trio, savored every bite! We sat on the patio and enjoyed a beautiful evening with some of the best food in Johnson City. Babylon isn’t afraid to infuse strong flavors into their food and that is what I am looking for. Highly recommend!

Bland for middle-eastern food. I’ve eaten at various middle-eastern restaurants in Chicago an enjoyed all of them, and I was desperate for one to open in JC, but this is disappointing. They need to ramp up the flavor. The sauce that comes with the falafels is practically tasteless.

5 stars based on the hummus alone. I can’t buy the grocery store hummus anymore. I’m too spoiled on Babylon’s. The entrees have been very good. One of my favorite things I got there was a side dish which the waitress told me was cole slaw but it didn’t taste anything like any cole slaw I’ve ever had before. I don’t like cole slaw, and I could eat this stuff all day. I think the dressing may have been yogurt based and it had some tasty onions in it. Portions are huge so bring your appetite or plan to take home a box. And order an extra portion of Hummus to go. You’ll crave it later!

Fantastic place to eat. I have ate there for lunch multiple times. I have had their baba ganoush and hummus appetizers, Falafel, Sharma and chicken tikka sandwiches. All of which are fantastic! They have very quick service and a clean and quiet atmosphere. I feel their price is very reasonable and quality is great. Portion size is just right and I never leave feeling hungry or over full. Highly recommended! :-)

The food was mediocre. Hummus was good but pita was rubbery like it had been microwaved. Only reasonably priced lunch were sandwiches, which were OK, except they needed tzatziki sauce, which they do not have. I wouldn’t recommend and don’t plan to go back.

Atmosphere: Dated restaurant Service: Waitress was complacent. Not very warm or inviting. Food: Went there for lunch. I had the shawarma with fries. Fries were prepackaged and soggy. The shawarma was definity not good. It had large pieces of fat in it. The meat flavorless, dry, and overcooked that I almost cracked a tooth. The bread was basically a hoagie roll that you buy at the store. Cost: The quality of the food didn’t match up to the price. Overall: They could have had a bad day, so i might try it again at some point. I definitely didn’t get a good first impression.
