Waffle House

Food and staff are good, pretty much they are all the same. *But*, for visitors to Missouri, smoking in the restaurants is OK. Because the restaurant seats 50, they are exempt from smoking sections. So, if you don’t like being near smokers, skip this location.

Solid staff, very friendly in greeting everyone who walked through the door. I introduced my kids to WH and they loved it. I had the hash all the way and my kids had waffles.

Stopped to have breakfast at 7:00 am on a Saturday morning. Must have been shift change. All employees at the counter so no where to sit but at a booth. It took 10 minutes and some asking before anyone came over. Total attitude like I was bothering them stopping in to have breakfast. The hen house continued to rock on as I ate. The late shift did not leave making phone calls hanging out at the counter drinking coffee talking about their men ETC. Won’t be back to this to busy chatting to help anyone Waffle House!

The prices are decent for most items. The staff is always friendly. The smoking kills it for me though. I don’t think they should allow smoking inside any restaurant. If I’m trying to eat breakfast i don’t want to feel like I’ve just taken a bite out of a ashtray.

5 stars to Kenneth, who took care if from the time we entered the building until we left. He was very helpful and friendly. Because we don’t eat pork he accommodated us by making recommendations that satisfied our entire family.
If you’re in the area or driving across the country stop at this waffle house and look for Kenneth.

Stopped and had breakfast, and had a very short time frame to get it in. I had a hot plate of scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns, bacon and toast that I wish I could have again in the morning, but I’m driving ok to St. Louis and won’t be near here. The staff were on the ball, attentive and personable. The whole place was spotless. Easy access into parking lot. Good parking.
The only negative I even have is for the manager. He pulled the hostess to the side and got on to her a little harshly for opening both doors for guest versus just one. I overheard him and I’m sure other customers did. I thought he was a jerk. If you’re going to discipline and employee take them to a private area, and honestly, she was doing a damn good job if you ask me.

Ahhh… the Waffle House. How I love to see you on a road trip.
This one is as comfy as all the Waffle Houses you know. Hash browns — covered, smothered, diced, etc etc etc. Simple tasty BLTs and crispy thin waffles. I am not a Belgian Waffle fan. So these make me happy.
It’s a small Waffle House but the service as basic and fast.
It’s just a couple blocks off the Interstate and easy on and off and you can grab some gas at this exit when you stop on your trip. Or of course on your way home from being out in Joplin it’s the perfect spot for a cup of coffee and something to soak up the fun.

I love the Waffle House. I would give this one 5 stars if they didn’t allow smoking. Nothing can ruin a breakfast quicker than a mouthful of smoke with my Cheese-​steak Omelet and hash-​browns capped, peppered, topped and smothered. Coffee is always good and service is always quick and friendly.

Where ya gonna find ten gallon hats and bikers all together under one roof? At Waffle House in Joplin Missouri is where! This was an interesting dining experience for me. The place is quite small but it’s set up so the wait staff serves you from behind the counter. Brilliant! Was there on a Sunday morning so had a slight wait but there are a row of chairs opposite the counter to hang out while waiting. Was seated within maybe 5 minutes or so…
Very good service, breakfast was great, friendly waitress who kept the coffee coming. Couldn’t ask for more!
Only one downside for me. And a dealbreaker… The whole small establishment is one big «smoking» section. Maybe I’m just a spoiled New Yorker but I had the crazy idea that smoking in restaurants was a thing of the past. If I had known beforehand I would have saved myself from the «secondhand» smoke! Sorry Waffle House… I gotta pass next time I visit. That’s really too bad because I liked it otherwise.

Dirty, cheap, and nasty. The perfect 3am stop after a night on the town. Love it. Great food and great staff.

$ 5 for a burger a fries. It looks & feels like a 1960s diner. Don’t expect any different. Staff is friendly & keep your coffee cup full. :)

I stopped here on my drive east for breakfast one morning and was pleased with my meal. The place is fairly small but wasn’t busy when we visited around 10 AM. I got a standard breakfast that included eggs, toast, sausage, hash browns, and two waffles with a coffee. Everything tasted fine and our servers were friendly enough though maybe a little slow on the coffee refills.

I recently took my first trek to Waffle House in over a decade. It hasn’t changed much, from the atmosphere, to the wait staff’s ponytails, to the Blind Melon and Staind on the jukebox.
With that said, it wasn’t bad at all. My boyfriend and I had smothered hash browns and egg & cheese biscuits. The hash browns were great but the biscuit tasted like nothing. Nevertheless, our bill was less than seven bucks before tip. You don’t find a breakfast that cheap most places.
Definitely VERY smoky even in the nonsmoking section, due to the restaurant’s size. I had to wash my clothes to get the scent of grease and Marlboros out. I would probably return sometime if this restaurant went non-​smoking.

I haven’t been in a while, but the place has a reputation for being dirty and cheap. If you don’t mind taking a shower after you eat, this is the place for you.
