Denny’s

By Denny’s standards this place is a fail. I’ll be brief… Bad Service, unpleasant experience.
–Incredibly slow to get our food, about an hour+ on a slow morning
–Half our table was done before the rest of the food came (we told our companions to go ahead and eat so the lukewarm food didn’t get cold while the rest of us waited.)
–Our waitress seemed indifferent if not outright hostile towards us though we had been quite patient and polite.
–Our water glasses had globs of orange juice pulp (at least I hoped thats what it was) on the outside. Also dirty forks.
–When we gently brought our concerns to the manager he literally offered nothing but a grunt and took our money. I am not exaggerating. This was bizarre.

Food was excellent. Wait staff are great conversation and knowledgeable about Hawaii. Good to have locals employees.

As soon as we walked there was a smell of body odor, the dining room was so quiet that you could hear everyone’s conversations. There was no welcoming feeling when you walk in. We didn’t even wait to be seated because it took to long. I’m very surprised they are still in business.

If I could give this place NO STARS I would. Absolutely ridiculous. They ran out of everything. When the food came it was wrong and bad! We were told the cook quit earlier in the day. So stupid to try and stay open when they could not do anything right. Don’t GO HERE! This place is terrible!

About 3 or 4 Big Roach came out to eat and when I told the manager she said here’s your check.

This place should close down!!! There is no life in there, no music going, customer service sucks. If its not busy which it looks like it Never is the restaraunt should b spick and span clean! Never going there again, of course IHOP is better.

My husband and I went here before our road to Hana trip. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese and a side of potatoes. I wanted ham as well but they were out… we got out food and i was looking at the eggs and I found two small BUGS in my food. The waitress rosa was sincerely sorry and kept asking if she could get me anything else. Of course I didn’t want anything.
About 10 minutes later the manager, well we think it’s the manager as he didn’t introduce himself or even come completely over to the table. He leaned across 2 tables and Asked if we were doing okay.
We were so confused we went to pay and it took about 5 minutes for someone to come up to us. The guy who did didn’t look at us or ask how it was he didn’t really say anything accept how much the total was.
Everyone is horrible in this restaurant with the exception of Rosa.
My husband went to the bathroom and ended up ordering food to go from ihop.
Were so disappointed we wasted our time here before our all day trip.

This Denny’s seriously deserves a «0» star. I have given this Denny’s 3 chances. In my book, everyone deserves a second chance and sometimes a 3^rd. After that, it’s 3 strikes you’re out.
I don’t even know where to begin. I guess I should start off stating that I am a server myself, so I totally understand what it’s like. I try to provide as good of service as I would like to receive. So, maybe I have a high standard of what basic customer service should be like??? But looking at all the other reviews, I’m not the only one who thinks this place should just be shut down, it sucks!
The first experience was mediocre, nothing special, service wasn’t very good, either was the meal.
The second time my fiancé and I went in, the food was better but the service was still lacking.
So, the third time we went it, we at least thought the food would be okay. It was «busy», everyone that worked there was running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I counted ten tables in the front room (which I can handle like a pro by myself, even on my off days). There were plenty of people on shift to knock it out, including two managers. Yet, it took 5 minutes of waiting to even get acknowledged. The only reason we did was because my fiancé waved to the manager in the kitchen. He didn’t even say a word to us, or at least nothing we could make out, just had us follow him. He sits us down at a dirty table and my fiancé asks for a wet rag to wipe down the table with. The guy comes back and wipes down the table, still with out saying a word.
It takes forever, but we finally get a server (who we assume is the floor manager) to come over and help us. She was the best thing about that restaurant… Even though we didn’t get straws with our drinks. We finally order, and when they bring our food out, my broccoli was still frozen, kid you not, not cold, FROZEN. When my fiancé gets his meal, the «sautéed zucchini» wasn’t cooked either. Literally, cut up and put on the plate, they didn’t even cook it. His garlic bread had hair in it, yuck! When we sent it back, the young kid, I think he was a busser, acted kind of mean, like how dare we have him take back our uncooked food. After we waited for-​freaking-​ever to get our check, we were tired of waiting 15 minutes for them to come cash us out. So we went up to the front, where a dirty looking guy, another server just stuck his hand out and said «here» to take our money. At this point my fiancé is pissed so he says to the guy, «Actually, can you send her over to cash us out? Since she is the only one that is nice to us?» Talking about our server. He sends over this nice girl, but it wasn’t our server, so finally the presumed manager comes over to cash us out. We compliment her service, leave a 25% tip and leave.
Needless to say, we will never go back and I’ll make sure to tell people to steer clear of that awful place.

Loco moco is 5 scoops rice and one tiny hamburger patty. The molten lava cake with hot chocolate in the middle DID NOT HAVE ANY CHOCOLATE and we were still required to pay for a dry cake that we didn’t order since we ordered it filled with hot chocolate! They are not good for groups of people because they are unable to split a bill down the middle. Took 5 minutes since they have to figure out who ate what and make separate tickets. Definitely the first and last time we will be eating here!

I went to this restaurant for lunch, customer service wasn’t great, but the food was okay. We got refills without asking, but our waiter seemed to be in a bad mood. Very clean dining area!

4 of us stopped in for breakfast after the Halelakela trip. Service was slow but a really nice server. The bathrooms were a disaster. The place just stunk. I had the moon over my hammy breakfast sandwich and it had no flavor. Very bland. Nice server keeps it from a one star.

So hit and miss with this place but this visit was the worst and not because of the food which was pretty standard Denny’s fare but because of a waitress who kept looking at us and giving us dirty looks then when we went to pay she refused to ring us up… horrible service and I’ve never felt so disrespected.

Service is straight up shitty! Sorry for my French but the hostess who helped us had no class what’s so ever. Last time I’m ever coming here. I would expect a good service since its Father’s Day but nope!

Placed order right away and We were told up front that they were short handed and it would take awhile. We were very patient, but my food came an hour later and then they came back 10 minutes later to tell my sister they were out of what she had ordered. Seriously! It took them 1hr 10 min to figure that out. Close this place down.

If there were 0 stars for this denny’s location I would have given that. Its the «WORST» denny’s I ever went to.
First, when we arrived the restaurant was all empty which I never experienced especially with any denny’s location, then I ordered coffee, so the problems start…
At first coffee came in dirty mugs, I asked the waitress to replace that, after 5 mins she comes with another coffee which to my surprise is again in dirty mug, so here I’m looking for her to give me creamer and also waiting for her to ask for replacement of this mug.
After 10 mins she comes with our order and I tell her that coffee mug is dirty, to that without apologizing she says all our mugs are like that, so I got pissed off and told her to give me plain water.
Me and my wife are both vegetarians, my wife ordered «Loaded Veggie Omelet» and to our surprise it’s coming with bacon strips, she said that it pops in our system that bacon strips go with that.
It’s heights, we are from California and going to denny’s is regular breakfast régime for us, we never ever got bacon strips with this dish but she was so adamant that it always comes with bacon strips.
Since these guys were not even apologizing for their mistakes, we both left without taking any sip or bite of any food or drink.
Will definitely recommend to stay away from this denny’s location.
Also, the staff is horrible they just keep avoiding eye contact.
Hope, denny’s as a chain looks to these reviews coz locations like these are spoiling their reputation and goodwill.

So we waited ten minutes and I immediately noticed that the waitress took her sweet time then we sat for 8 minutes to get our half flat sodas then about 25 minutes of waiting and we received cold fries and we could tell are food must of been sitting for over 5 minutes so poor service poor food

STAY AWAY.
Unless of course, you want to be served by people whom look like wildlings from Game of Thrones, feel every sticky surface from the tables to the floors, want questionable items floating in your drinks, and disgusting food.
Never going back.

As we were seated the host scraped off something sticky on our table with one of the table settings. He then handed is sticky menus.
Been sitting here for 15 minutes. We were given water and ordered water. The staff is disengaged with customers and are more concerned about talking with each other. Addressed our concerns with the manager and his response was poor… looked like a deer in headlights. At the time of this review there were 8 front of house staff and 12 tables. Whoever oversees this place needs to take Customers Service 101.

Update time.
ATMOSPHERE:
The place is still in good condition. The dining area was clean.
FOOD:
Philly Cheesesteak Omelette — It’s really a cheese omelette topped with steak bits, mushrooms, onions, and red & green bell peppers. The steak pieces were super tender but had a very odd & fake texture to it, though it tasted «normal.» I detected some Kraft Singles-​like cheese flavor which I didn’t care for. The sides of hash browns, which were excellent, and toast were both good.
SERVICE:
We joined up with a large group for breakfast half way through their meal so I can’t comment on the greeting.
Our female server was friendly, professional, and checked up on us frequently.
OVERALL:
Good food, prices a lot lower than IHOP, good service. Good job Denny’s Kahului!
