If you want cheap American beer(coors, bud), this is the place for you. Everything else is covered in a thick layer of dust. Nothing general about this place.

My stop off for a spam musubi, fried chicken or a loco moco(beef or chicken) to go. Pretty convenient but the food runs out early. The plate lunches are not the greatest but if you’re into chicken burrito, they have one of the better ones this side of the island.

Aloha from Kaua’i! This great market is located in Lawai — between the«Tree Tunnel» and Kalaheo if you are on the main highway. They have the best(IMO) manju on the island, as well as tons of other goodies such as malasada, brownies, spam musubi(as well as tuna musubi and teri chicken musubi on occasion), make sushi, chi chi dango, cascarone, and other ono home-made goodies. There is some confusion here on «Yelp» because the comments for the Kalaheo Menehune Mart(which has been closed for over a year now) seem actually to be for this place — this is in Lawai, not Kalaheo — but Lawai doesn’t have a town center per se, so maybe that is the confusion. I always go there for omiyage to take off-island, and they will package it for you for the plane as well — the manju is always, always a hit!

Four stars for the Spam Musubi. Reputed to be the best on island. Get there early though for the Musubi as they run out fast.

Just off the main highway en route to Koloa Town is this«blink and you’ll miss it» corner store. They have a pretty wide selection of items given their tiny size. Lots of beverage options and plate lunches. The plate lunches are okay but the super secret is the chicken burritos in the refrigerated case right when you walk in the door. They are OUTSTANDING! Seriously. I’m from the San Francisco area and know good Mexican food(or Mexican hybrid food… burritos are hardly authentic kids) and this one is worth the money. Do NOT get the chicken enchilada… you will be super bummed and disappointed. Prices here are somewhat high but the owner, Sue, is really sweet, a little sassy and she’s another reason this place is a local favorite.
