The coffee was awesome. Love the atmosphere. Only rainbeau Jo’s is better in all of Kauai.

This spot is amazing! Just a visitor to Kauai but I believe the best cup of coffee is a POUROVER. This is the only place I’ve found so far in Kauai that does a POUROVER. There are other food trucks but what’s cool about this place is its a small coffee bar on wheels inside a warehouse space with seats and couches. Go support this guy! He passionate about what he’s doing.

Must stop. We both had cold brews. We are going back tomorrow to explore the menu more.

Best vanilla latte I’ve had on island. I don’t know what he does to his espresso other than«it’s different and uses more coffee, but produces a better product» as he said, but whatever it is, IT’S WORKING! I savored every sip. He was incredibly patient as we figured out what my buddy wanted since he doesn’t brew decaf coffee and when she landed on a chai, she said it was incredible and she couldn’t believe how amazing it was. My only wish is that he was closer to my house

Great place with great coffee. We come regularly and quality of coffee is always high. Outside of the building are two food trucks. Also very good one.

What a find! This has to be the cutest coffee place I have ever visited. Cuteness aside, being from Seattle we take our coffee very seriously and this place delivered! I’ve never had that style of coffee before and it was surprisingly great, strong without an ounce of bitterness! I wish I would’ve found him sooner, would’ve been back once a day while we were on Kauai!

What a gem. Great cold brew and the owner/barista was super nice. You can also get coconut milk as creamer for your coffee, very cool! It brings out a little bit of tartness in the coffee, but it worked for me.

I don’t know when I became such a coffee douche. It’s not so bad where I come from because compared to the pretentious, self proclaimed coffee connoisseurs that mottle every decent coffee shop in LA I could be a hell of a lot worse. That being said I always seem to make it a mission to visit as many coffee shops as possible in order to find the best cold brew in a one hour radius from my hotel. After multiple dramatic performances of exaggerated gagging that annoyed my wife to no end I finally found a winner in dark roost. The flavor is much richer than other cold brews without that muddled, generic taste that makes you wish you had just brewed your own at home. The only bad thing I would say is that the cold brew was served in a paper cup which didn’t hold up well during the long drive up Waimea. Anyway, if you are like me and want to feel elite about your coffee give this place a try. It’ll make your pants tighter and make thick, black rimmed glasses feel like a necessity.

It’s a great place for delicious coffee. I understand that they use Kawai Roastery coffee, the smaller than large business that assures you fresh coffee.

Got the cold brew with simple syrup and milk. It was delicious! The owner was also very friendly and nice. Easy parking and outdoor bench seating if you’d like to stick around. Easy to grab and go as well. Located right next to Fresh Shave.

Stumbled across this little gem while driving to the west side of the island, and so happy we did! I tried the cold brew iced coffee and it was so good. Super nice guy owns the little coffee truck which is also really neat looking. Go check him out you won’t regret it!

Great guy, great coffee, good prices! Came here after finding it on Unilocal(thanks)! The style he uses to brew the coffee is simple and unique. He likes to bring the best flavor out of the local blend he buys by brewing the coffee in the most simplest way possible(no bulky machines), hence why he can stay in this tiny place!

The coffee is delicious! The cute camper/trailer was very welcoming and john was so nice to us while carefully making each cup of coffee. Stop here as you’re driving to Waimea like we did!

I was initially getting food at Kickshaws when I saw this little coffee bar next to them. I decided to try their Coconut Thai Tea, and it was so good! And Jon(the owner) is super friendly! Definitely my number one place to go to now for coffee and other beverages.

If you are looking for a great cup of coffee on the go, and on the southside of Kauai, stop by Dark Roost on Hwy 530, close to Hwy 50 in Lawai. 3540 Koloa Rd. Jon started his business with a passion for coffee, so he takes personal pride in making a good cup of coffee. He bought a cool little white retro trailer and turned it into a cool coffee stop. His trailer is tucked inside Warehouse 3540. Cool location with picnic tables. Opens at 7:00am. Perfect if you have an early boat tour or going out for the day. It’s on your way down to Poipu or on your way up to Waimea Canyon. Makes an excellent pour over and cold press coffee! My fave is the cold press with coconut milk and a splash of vanilla. Jon serves quality coffee called Dark Horse and Kauai Roastery. Menu includes coconut milk, organic soy and organic dairying almond. I’m coming back! It was so good! Dark Roost is a definite stop! And Jon is great for local tips and you can Follow Darkroost on Instagram for updates.

We heard about this place from a local and it was a great find. 10 minutes west of Poipu. He makes awesome hot/cold pressed coffee and teas with super high quality ingredients. It was a perfect quick stop on our way to Waimea and way better than the 20 minute wait @ Starbucks. Definitely worth the stop.
