This is always on our stop list even though we rarely buy. You can find kitschy stuff to Bamboo Cay button ups. Want an ornament to remember the trip by at Christmas? Got those too. Mostly clothing anywhere from shirts to island casual. They do have a jewelry section and I’ll say this for the other people who keep saying«go to Na Hoku.» Na Hoku charges twice the price for the same weight in gold and diamonds on the mainland. They are expecting you will be overwhelmed by their selection of designs and if you are, more power to you. But if you want BASIC jewelry including black pearls, save yourself a couple hundred bucks. If someone is all up in your business enough to call you out on the quality of your jewelry, you don’t need someone like that in your life anyway. Most people expect they’re cheap anyway so why not get a high end look for literally a fraction of the cost? Just so you know going in… NOREFUNDS, all sales final so take that into consideration.

Outstanding customer service — was warmly greeted as I walked in, sales person answered my questions or found out the answer, explained everything — all around a wonderful experience. Based on other reviews, maybe this business has addressed their customer service problem. BTW, I rarely give 5 stars to any company — 4 is as good as 99% get from me.

This is a stop we make every time we visit. Decent prices, easy parking and just off the highway. Great selection of stuff — clothes, jewelry, etc.

Visited the place but did not purchase anything. Although, the place looks like a great place to shop. They have an extensive collection of things to see and purchase. They also carry a large selection of the Very Rare Exquisite Authentic Niihau Shell Jewelry. A MUST to SEE!!! Excellent place and highly recommended to see when visiting Kauai, HI

Best place on the island to get souvenirs and niihau shell necklaces. We found this place on the way to the taro chip place decided to stop buy. I am so glad that we did. They have tons of great sourvenirs at non-touristy prices. Plus I got a niihau shell pendant necklace without breaking the bank. :) The people in the shop are super friendly and helpful.

The BEST Shop on Kauai that you can treat yourself to the finest Pearls, especially Black Pearls anywhere in the WORLD! Now that’s a very BIG statement. Family owned and operated with the highest integrity. Now we talk prices, they are the fairest and most reasonable also. I always get ongoing compliments about anything I wear from them.

I only wanted one think and that is a tank top, I looked at the other stores and man olé man 30 dollars was not going to happen this place actually had good prices for shirts and overall clothing. Now for people needing to get all their shopping out the way this is the place, that won’t hurt the bank on the way out. But no water for sale

Meh. Cute shop. Decent variety. Enjoyed being there until I got to the counter. I asked the little lady working if the offer a local discount and she laughed at me and said no. She was a little rude and seemed«too good to be talking to me». Her attitude ruined my experience. If you’re a local do not shop there!

Very nice collection of shops all in one building, with souvenirs, clothing, jewelry, and more. Nice quality stuff at very reasonable prices. The place is well taken care of and has a nice Hawaiian theme outdoors. Great wave out front for pictures!

This place was just ok. It was expansive and felt like a lot of options but the sales people and some of the buyers acted like total snobs. We wanted to remind them that this is a tourist dive and not Na Hoku. We browsed for a bit, spent about 15 minutes and enjoyed the knick knacks. I did purchased a set of earrings and matching necklace. Took forever, no one wanted to help us purchase it. We didn’t need any help picking it out… just buying it. It was cute… but then I saw the same set in a flea market. Hope it lasts, but if not, the world is not over. May or may not be worth a visit. If you are in the area and want something… give it a try.

The older lady at the jewelry section was very rude to us. She did not want to give us boxes for the jewelry we bought and forgot to put one of them in the bag. When Confronted she said, oh so sorry. She(seemed to be the owber) also took our stuff behind the counter out if reach before we were finished looking and comparing them, There was no retail manners, just«buy it and get out now» attitude. We have been here before, but now never going back alas.

This place deserve a zero for horrible customer service & no manners what so ever! We go here to buy things when on the island especially men’s t-shirts. They do have cheap stuff along with some mediocre jewelry. I wouldn’t buy any jewelry from here since you’re not really sure what you’re getting(go to NaHoku or somewhere reputable for that)! The service is truly bad as the lady there seems to boss you around & has the attitude of «get your crap & get out»! Heard you loud & clear & won’t be back!

Very fine shop for jewelry, especially pearls, and one of the few places to get authentic Ni’ihau shell leis. Certainly better prices on conventional jewelry than the high class shops in Poipu or Princeville, and better pedigree for the shell leis than other places around the island. They also have a fairly routine collection of Aloha gear, knick knacks and souvenirs.

Fun place to pick up your souvenirs. There are a couple of places to eat and a farmers market on the weekends.

Our family went to the Trading Post several times while on Kauai. First impression was that this was a tourist-trap souvenir/crap shop. But most of us ended up making purchases we were quite happy with. They do have a really good selection of men’s Hawaiian shirts — better than most of the other tourist shops. They also have a lot of interesting local art and jewelry. It’s quite a mix. I did not have a nice experience with one of the staff. She was very rude and dismissive. Also, in hoping to buy myself a pearl necklace, I was disappointed that they only carried really cheap or really expensive strands, nothing in the middle. Oh well, it’s a nice way to spend an hour or two. They have a little koi pond and some photographic set-ups(Giant Pineapple, Tiki Gods, Surf Wave). There is also a very friendly shop cat.

This place is interesting. We ended up going twice. First, we spent a few minutes and decided it was way too touristy to be worth our time, and so left. The next day(or so), though, one of the people with us wanted a tiki that he had seen there for a friend, so we went back and spent a little more time paroozing and asking questions. As it turns out, they actually do have a good selection of locally made crafts and jewelry, as well as some nice clothing and other items… you just have to know where to look. The store has a cat in it that’s very friendly and you can pet. Actually a good find, after getting past the initial reactions.

Hawaiian Trading Post — old favorite — it’s in Lawai at the corner of the hwy and Koloa Rd. A little of everything including a very large jewelry area with museum quality(show piece only & for sale) Ni‘hau Lei. Times are hard and most of their jewelry is marked down. I got Xmas gifts for 2DIL’s and 2 good friends. Long strands of amethyst crystal, red coral and fresh water pearls and a black(dyed) fresh water pearl anklet. A very fun place to spend some time. Take a photo surfing too! Photos:
