Coffee was good. Cold brew comes with an ice cube of the coffee itself. Definitely a great little spot. Just know, they don’t always open on time(island time) and they may be closed during open hours.

Amazing little coffee stand! During my week in Poipu I tried an Americano, a Cortado, a dirty chai and a Coco Loco, and all were coffee perfection.

Unreal. The coco loco is my new favorite coffee drink. Local honey, coconut milk and cayenne pepper with espresso. Super friendly people. Takes credit card, quick and easy and conversational. If I don’t keep typing Unilocal will make this a tip and not a review. There ya go. Go here. Support local quality coffee. Locally roasted.

Having been to Cortado for a few years now, this was the first place on the island that I knew did third-wave coffee. Before Cortado, it was only SBUX. So lame. The guy behind the stand is a super chill guy, who isn’t afraid to tell you that his opening and closing hours are dependent on the surfing conditions. The cold brew is delicious and comes with flavored ice cubes to keep your caffeine fix going. While staying in Poipu, my husband and I come here almost every morning. Definitely check this place out if you’re into the artisinal coffee wave!

Stopped here a few times on vacation on recommendation of a friend. Delicious! I sipped a friends mocha… barely sweet… perfect. I ordered the cayenne coffee with coconut milk. Soooo good. Didn’t seem to agree with my belly either of 3 times… darn it. Can’t say I didn’t try… and will try again next time. Too good not to! It’s slower service… but fun to people watch and kinda sorta talk to the guy… he’s super laid back.

Ordered two americanos — one iced, one regular. Both were perfect. Not too much water, good pull and quality in the espresso and lovely island flavour without the artificial nut flavours others like to put in their beans on the island. Bonus points because the iced americano includes a frozen espresso shot, so when the ice melts you don’t lose flavour. Very smart, and it works! The setting is quaint and the service superb. We got advice on surfing, board hire and when the local farmers markets were on. Couldn’t ask for any more.

Located in a parking lot next to the Kukuiula Store, the Cortado Coffee Bar served great drinks at reasonable prices. This was my go to place in the mornings before hitting Anake’s Juice Bar next door.

A quirky, fun spot to grab some excellent Coffee — try the special with espresso, coconut oil and paprika.

The espresso machine appears to still not be at this place as of 11⁄14. So disappointed that they were closed and I couldn’t try :(

Absolutely adorable little coffee bar that is super close and convenient to Poipu Beach! So if you’re hitting the beach early, this should be your first stop. I pretty much had to try the namesake — a Cortado. My husband opted for a Bittersweet Mocha. First, let’s talk about the mocha. I can’t stand mocha lattes! I’ve never liked them. But not here! This was the absolute first and only mocha that I’ve ever enjoyed. Maybe I don’t like the sweetness of the regular mochas, because this one tasted like a smooth melted chocolate coffee. I almost stole it from my husband … until I tasted my Cortado. So smooth and strong, and so delicious! It didn’t even need any sugar or sweetener, which is amazing. It was served in a smaller glass cup, and it was very hard to resist picking it up while the glass was so hot! But once it cooled enough to touch, I couldn’t put it down. Seriously. My husband and I had such a lovely late-morning coffee experience at Cortado. The drinks were so unique and very high quality! I think we could have sat there at the cute little table all day, but the beach was calling us. Mahalo, Cortado! I wish you had an outpost on the mainland ;)

The coffee was excellent. We had the one with cayenne and the mocha. Cute little stand, overloaded with flavor! And they use coffee ice cubes! Support local!

Had the mocha. Very good and not super sweet. Tip: don’t come right when they open. They operate on «Hawaiian time» which means they open at 7am… Or maybe 7:30am… Or maybe 6:30.

Cortado is awesome. The owner is super chill– and makes great drinks. I tried the Cortado, Bittersweet Mocha and the Coco Loco– all were superb. He makes his own almond milk, so definitely go for it. :) I’m down with the Cortado crown. Best coffee in town. Bar none.

Honestly, for all the 5 star reviews on Unilocal I had high hopes for Cortado. I ordered their most famous drink which consisted of coconut milk, espresso, honey, and cayenne pepper(yes cayenne pepper. Should be a no-go). Coconut milk by nature is thinner and doesn’t have that frothy/foamy structure that regular milk has. Therefore, the latte had no body and cream. I had them add in some regular milk to top it off, but I was still unsatisfied with the drink. It’s not cheap either(around $ 4). Cortado is a small coffee stand with a single table outside for patrons. I don’t mind that aspect I just didn’t like the drink. The guy that was working there seemed unhappy(I don’t entirely blame him… Kauai is a slow island and I wonder how frequently he gets a customer). Perhaps I should have ordered something else. I guess you can’t always believe in the hype.

I definitely would recommend this coffee shack. It is next to Da Crack, not far from the traffic circle. The owner is super friendly and makes great drinks, served hot or on ice. Prices are way low. I had the namesake drink 3x and the coco loco. All excellent. In case you need it, he has free wifi. Don’t miss out.
